Nearly new hotel but Room was very tight
Reviewed By pulmbubble1. Location: the hotel was in a great location which MRT is near by ( 3 min of walks) and convenience store, pharmacy , souvenir shops , local market are all around. 2. Room: the room was small and tight. The bed was very hard. The bathtub was small .Good thing was there are lots of movie to watch on TV, and it was a big screen flat TV. And there are many complimentary amenities such us capsule coffee, tea bags, cookies, soda, laundry bag, Japanese style pajama, bubble water. The bathroom has a sword are shower, bathtub and toilet area. The decoration of the room was new. 3. Parking: parking is an issue at this hotel. The on site hotel parking has very limited space, so need to park at remote lots. But, need to pay yourself first, then hotel pay you back. The complimentary breakfast buffet items are ok. Overall, the best advantages was the location, however if the same price they charge for premium room, there are more choices in the city with better price or bigger room.

Reviewed By Wanderer811223This is an old establishment, perhaps have been around for more than 30 years. This is a late posting from stay during August, 2018. Booked the hotel via Ctrip, I was on a short visit and booked the least expensive category. While the ground level reception desk probably did not change for the longest time, the guest floor and rooms was very well refurbished, and a very smart way of maximize the limited space in the rooms. Everything was working well in the room, and there's even some complimentary soft drinks in the minibar in the room. I would love to come back to this hotel, especially its well positioned location right next to the subway station (Nanjing Fuxing station, 南京复兴,) and there's even a direct entrance that bring you to the bakery shop entrance on the ground floor. Service staff was courteous and this hotel is truly value for money. The beef noodle soup at the hotel's coffee shop was very good as well. While there are many shopping and eateries of the hotel, the coffee shop is very popular amongst locals too, so as their Dim Sum lunch at their Chinese restaurant. Will come back for sure.

We had our engagement lunch party at the private room at Ya Ge restaurant and later after the engagement we stayed in our beautiful hotel suite room with an elegant and super loving hand written cards from the management and team ; heart shape chocolates and sweets from the team; the room is spacious , i always love a big bathroom with heated floor ; with the beautiful hotel deco this is the perfect colour for us, we are super pampered. I want to take this time to give a big thanks to the whole Mandarin Oriental Team, big thanks to Howard the Rooms Director that made sure all things ran smoothly that i had nothing to worry about just relax for my day. Many thanks to the Ya Ge team,. they have received numerous emails and information from me and made sure all is in perfect shape when all our family and guests arrived for the engagement, thank you Tina the key contact ; Rex that took care of us in the private room :) Good job Mandarin Oriental Taipei, thank you Karen , you got a great team. Reviewed By SafetravepThis spot is placed in an excellent spot in the center of everything. A 15 minute walk from downtown and a 5 minute walk from the station. This was a good experience and the bar next door is a fun attraction as well.

A home away from home
Reviewed By PacificClipperWe decided to visit Taipei at the very last minute for New Year 2020 and didnt have a clue as to where to get a decent hotel. We settled on this City Suites hotel. It turned out to be a blessing. The hotel is very comfortably located close to subway stations and a few landmarks such as the Taipei 101, the Night market and one of the oldest temple. As a bonus, there is a gorgeous trail / park by the river nearby that's perfect for walks or runs even at night. You will find the locals playing basketball or walking around even late at night. Public bathrooms are everywhere. It's very safe. The hotel is located east of the city center but the abundance of local sites as well as mom and pop restaurants make this a perfect site. Prices are usually cheaper in this part of the city since it is away from the expensive areas. In terms of food and shopping, I encourage fellow travelers give the many mom and pop restaurants and shops nearby a try. The street food is so cheap and very good. Discovering another culture through food is the perfect optic. You will find convenience stores such as 7-11 or Watson for necessities. There is a catholic church right across from the hotel for the ones of you who need a moment of reconnection with the high being. The hotel itself is very comfortable with all the amenities that a traveler would need. The rooms are spacious and modern. The AC is powerful. The water pressure is perfect. I wished they had a gym with some weights but the nearby park is a nice substitute for cardio. The hotel has a very reasonable breakfast buffet special. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Bryan, Henry and Iris were always very professional and provided us with invaluable assistance to our questions. This hotel and its staff has won our heart. They were so good that we decided to extend our stay here for the entire period.

Excellent hotel
Reviewed By Just-do-it-laterI rarely write reviews but Alper Motel in Taipei deserves a five star review. I had to say that the hotel front entrance was not too impressive. Nonetheless the service provided was exceptional. We stayed there for one night two days ago. The two male receptionists were very courteous and accomodating. It makes a big difference when you feel welcome. Then we were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the room was. Can you imagine to have your own jacuzzi and steam room in your own room? Its that incredible. Even a five star hotel would not have all that in one room. Its conveniently located 5 min walk from the MRT station. We were in a hurry and they delivered the breakfast to our room. We will definitely return if we visit Taipei again. Thank you for the great services and make our stay so enjoyable.

ArTree Hotel: VERY DISHONEST
Reviewed By BilS_12Any positive review here must be a fake. We recently had to travel to Taipei for an emergency visit to my wifes elderly Mother. We quarantined for 15 days at the S Hotel (beautiful hotel), and then planned to move to ArTree Hotel which was a few doors away from where my mother in law lives. We booked this on Agoda. We received and email from ArTree Hotel asking if we were Taiwan residence and stating that if we were not; we had to go through the 15 day quarantine. We called them and explained that we were quarantining at the S Hotel and would move to their hotel as it was close to her Mother. They said OK, but we would need to bring our breakfast (included in price) to our room each morning as part of the 7 day mandatory self health management. We agreed. Fast forward, one day before our quarantine was ending at S Hotel, we called ArTree to see about an early check in the next day. They said we couldn't stay there!!We could believe it and demanded to speak to the manager. We were put on hold FOR ONE HOUR and they basically blew us off with no empathy at all. VERY VERY RUDE PEOPLE. fortunately, we were able to get the last room at the S Hotel. I want to say that the Front desk at the Ar Tree Hotel lied to us, gave us incorrect information and then were ready to leave our bags on the street. Really incredible experience. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE FOR ANYTHING. Many, many many more hotels to stay where you will be treated with respect. We believe that they were able to get a higher rate for our room and used the pandemic as in excuse. They can use the language as a reason as my wife speaks Mandarin and everything was crystal clear in what they told us on our confirmation call with them before we left on our trip. Real Liars!

Very central Taipei location opposite Taipei Arena, 2 MRT stations in 5 minute walking distance. American Sports Bars, Department store and food court next door. Lively neighborhood with green parks.

The staff, especially Bert and Rey of the concierge department, is friendly and very accommodating to my needs: from simple hotel amenities to giving out instructions on how to go to the tourist spots. This hotel is highly recommended and I will again go back if ever I'm in Taipei again.

Reviewed By EHSEHSStayed at The Tango FuHsing Taipei twice, at the end of July and beginning of August 2021. On both ocassions I booked their Jazz Room(天爵客房). However for the first stay, I was upgraded to their Wonderful Studio(天璽客房). Both rooms were wonderful by all means, of course Wonderful Studio has a slightly upgraded feel thanks to a jacuzzi bath! These 2 types of rooms also come with washing machines + dryers, which made my stay in a hot summer Taipei very convenient, being able to deal with somewhat refreshing daily self-care laundry! In addition, although it may not be so relevant to a lot of travellers, but a microwave in the both of the rooms I stayed was a plus, as I was able to still enjoy the inclusive breakfast hot after I wanted to eat it later than my requested delivery time, handy for reheating take away meals during my stay too! The staff were professional and helpful. The housekeeping was efficient, highly hygienic (especially under the current Covid times) and never intrusive, being flexible with your chosen cleaning time. They replenished the free mini-bar daily, including the coffee machine capsules! The Tango FuHsing is located in the business area of Taipei, so it's very convenient for business travellers but also good for non-business solo traveller like myself on these occasions. There are plenty of local eateries, convenient stores and shopping venues. I've always trusted The Tango Hotels Taiwan as my go-to choice for boutique hotels in Taiwan, and these two stays with The Tango FuHsing not only reached the normal 'Tango standard' as the other Tango hotels I stayed in, but actually exceeded my expectations. Thank you The Tango FuHsing and naturally, I'd highly recommend!

Reviewed By WeisbearWe stayed in the Shin Shin Hotel at Ximending (not sure whether that’s this one or if it’s from the same group), and it’s was very close to the district walking area, the station and the metro lines (lots of shops and restaurants in the area). The rooms were clean and spacious and we had all amenities we needed. However, it was a little noisy in the night from the street (cars passing constantly), and the staff did not clean the room even though we asked them to (they gave excuses though). Good for the price!
