Nice staff unpleasant beds and room odor
Reviewed By cfletchred300Staff was friendly but the rooms were lacking. Beds had like worn out dips in them and the room and hotel itself had a very musky odor to it. Paper thin walls, can hear anyone just walking down the hall.

Reviewed By maec1123Where to begin.... I can't believe I never left a review for this place. My mom and I had been staying at the this hotel for a year while she was receiving chemo. The staff was truly AMAZING. They ended up becoming a second family. I apologize if I forget any names so I'm just not going to use any. Breakfast attendant was super sweet and always made sure my mom was fed and had her hot chocolate...even in the summer. All the front desk agents were helpful, talkative, and attentive. It truly was appreciated when we were going through such a rough time. They were flexible with our schedule when it changed, helped with bags, made sure mom had extra blankets, chatted with her, and were concerned when we weren't there when we should have been. Housekeeping worked their butts off!! Always made sure that our rooms were ready for us and were flexible when we needed a late checkout. Maintenance (when they finally got someone!) was great! I am generally hot natured and if my AC wasn't working properly, they were on it. This hotel saw many ups and downs with weather, COVID, staffing, renovations, and management changes but ALWAYS had a smile when we saw them. I really wish I could afford to stay there but I have left IHG as an employee. I will be back eventually to see them even if it's just to say "hi". Mom is managing in her illness and still fighting hard. Thanks to your staff, she looked forward to going to chemo and refused to stay anywhere else. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

Reviewed By 953kileyyWe traveled to Shawnee, OK to spend time with family. When we arrived at Comfort Inn it appeared to be clean. When we got to our room, we noticed blood stains on the comforter, blood stains on the chair next to the bed and the shower curtain was nasty. The floor had not been vacuumed as the carpet was very disgusting. Also, when I booked the room, I asked the lady if there was a full continental breakfast and was told yes. When we arrived the day of check-in I was told they only served juice and muffins. You definitely get what you pay for.

Fatal Flaw
Reviewed By S1200SU-HTMThis hotel is new so everything looks nice but it has a fatal flaw. More on that later. The hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious, the beds are fine, and the enhanced Wi-Fi is okay. The wood construction of the hotel means you will hear every step of the guests staying above you. Take this seriously if you are a light sleeper and ask to be on the 4th floor. It sounded like a herd of elephants were above us. The breakfast is very weak compared to other Fairfield Inns. The selection of items is slim. It feels like they are trying to run this hotel on the cheap. Even the selection at their little “Corner Market” is very sparse compared to other Fairfield Inns. The fatal flaw of this hotel is the staff who are in serious need of training and a shift in mindset. Most of the time the front desk is left empty. There is usually a sign that says they are tending to something else on the property. You will undoubtedly have to wait no matter when you show up there. If you call the front desk the phone will ring and ring and ring. We were never able to get the front desk to answer a call. We had to go down to the desk and wait for someone to show up. Very frustrating! Housekeeping knocked on the door every day despite the fact that we had a do not disturb sign out. They said they just wanted to know if we were in the room and when we were leaving. Weird. They said they had to check off the room on a clipboard they were carrying. Their convenience trumped our do not disturb sign. At the bottom of the fire escape/stairwell, the exit door is propped open 24/7 with an old piece of tile leaving the entire hotel vulnerable to someone walking in from the side parking lot. It looks like someone props the door open so they can go smoke and get back in easily. The exit door has a key reader, but it is apparently disabled and the door says “exit only” which is why the stairwell door is likely propped open. Why don’t they just keep the door locked but require a guest key to enter like every other Fairfield Inn? We never saw the manager and we have stayed there multiple times for multiple days. The staff park their cars right in front of the hotel under the port cochere. Not only does this discourage people from unloading in the most convenient place, it indicates how little the staff think of their guests. It is also indicative of the overall lack of sophistication in the management of this hotel. Apparently, they can't seem to figure out that the guests deserve to use the space and not the employees. Again, their convenience trumps guest convenience. This hotel is under staffed and they just do not know how to provide basic customer service. I’m confident that if a Marriott executive stayed here for 3 days to test the experience they would quickly realize how bad it is and pull the franchise license. When the newness wears off the physical attributes of this hotel, it will not be worth the money to stay there at all.

Reviewed By 0okiecatHave stayed here about four times in the last two years. The ice machine has never worked, and have never had HOT coffee. But the last visit will definitely BE our last visit. Hair all over the shower, and toothpaste on the faucet. With a Quality Hotel in the same parking lot, you would think the owners would do better.

Reviewed By geoedavisNot the cleanest place in the world, they need quality control for house keeping. Room was good size but they need to keep up on the maintenance. They are close to being good. They just need someone to walk through every room on a quality control mission and then address the issues.

No real breakfast
Reviewed By CatskillmountiansThe room was sufficiently cleaned. The shower was okay. That bed was comfortable enough. They put a handicap person at the very end of the motel where I had to walk all the way to the front to get breakfast wasn't necessary. There were plenty of other openings. Breakfast consisted of a paper bag with a frozen breakfast sandwich, a muffin and a granola bar. Coffee machine was not working at 8:00 in the morning and they were waiting on repairment. No excuse for no coffee and their laundromat in the hotel that's down. Otherwise it was an acceptable location

We welcome our guest with love and respect and try to give the best experience possible. Our room has been recently updated with modern finishing. We provide clean and tidy rooms. Also, the motel is located near many facilities that Shawnee have to offer.

Reviewed By Charmimi11I chose this place because of the deal and because a review said it had been updated. They were right. It was clean and in good condition, the fixtures were newer & shiny, they provided nice quality soap, etc., but it was beyond that. Normally in a lower price range hotel, you have a top sheet, a barely there blanket, and another sheet on top for a spread. This facility had nice quality sheets, a cozy fleece blanket, and on top a lovely gold satin comforter/bed spread with decorative pillows. It’s obviously that the owners/management takes pride in their facility. If I were going through this area again, I would absolutely choose to stay at Colonial Inn again.

we are a newly renovated hotel just opened in October of 2018. we have all new furniture, flat screen tv, nice showers and bathrooms also offer a full continental breakfast with a hot breakfast as well. we have a fitness center, a guest laundry, and a business center. sorry about old review before October of 2018 we are working to remove them.
