Dirty Bath Tub
Reviewed By ChampaignguyWe have been staying at Hampton Inns on a recent vacation. I have yet to find a dirtier bath tub as the one I found at our recent stay here at Sault Ste Marie , Michigan. I brought it to the attention of the front desk and per usual the problem is "housekeeping". I kept a photo of the tub if you would like to see it. The second issue which occurred here concerns pillows. My wife and I both have allergies to feathers and always request polyester in our reservations. In each case over the past 5 stays at different Hamptons, including the one at Sault Ste Marie, the request is not met. I have learned to check. The problem is, of course, "housekeeping". In Ottawa, a new record i.e. all 8 pillows were down. Are we 100% happy. I would say the answer is NO. I would love to get a written response. Hiltons "contact me" function seems to be out of order tonight

Bad management
Reviewed By Islander49707Well it started off at the front desk. I was checking in early by an hour. My room was clean, they must of been training this new person. She told he manager she was going to check me in, then the manager said you know check in is not till three. The manager said she would not check me in till three but told the new lady it’s up to her. I think she felt guilty because the manager was saying all of this in front of me and decided to check me in anyway. Then I got into my room and it smells like dog and pee. So that is why they got low rating.

Reviewed By jswillHotel Ojibway is a great place to stay. Friendly staff. Centrally located to lots of attractions. Great views of the International bridge and locks. Many restaurants and sweet shops just blocks away. We enjoyed strolling down the streets checking out all the little shops.

This carried through the northern rewards and VIP rewards to have the same poor attitudes. I’m very disappointed. This was a place I once loved going to.

Refused to accept Emotional Support Animal registration- charging $50 for this well trained small dog!
Reviewed By sandi4706I am so perturbed with this “second choice” hotel, referred by Best Western, a “sister” company. I walked in the lobby and the young lady was folding towels. I mentioned the referral from BW and that we had 2 adults and an Emotional Support Animal and placed the card on the counter! I was told it wasn’t a support animal and I would have to pay $50 extra for this well trained dog!!! This is against Federal law, the Fair Housing Act and section 504 of the rehabilitation act of 1973! I was furious as well as stressed! I had never been questioned through all the travels from Florida, to Denver, up through Ontario. This is a TWO STAR HOTEL, not the Ritz Carlton! We went to the Comfort Inn, the very professional receptionist stated that “of course everybody needs to accept Registered Emotional Support Animals!” I’m still so perturbed and I WILL be calling to speak to the manager tomorrow! This is a clear violation of Federal law. We have a Mercedes RV and didn’t want to risk the severe weather which caused me anxiety and after dealing with your laundress/receptionist, I was more stressed. This could cause serious issues with someone afflicted with PTSD!

Reviewed By jahoduluthMy wife and I visit the Soo every year and first stayed at the Budget Host Crestview Inn in 2012 after previously staying at some other motels in the area in years prior. We recently made our 2021 Soo trip which marked our 10th consecutive stay here, and year after year we continue to love and appreciate all that this motel has to offer. The motel has an ideal, unique location on Ashmun Hill which makes it close to everything but also, depending on the room you're in, gives an elevated view of the area that you won't get closer to the river or at the motels closer to I-75. If you're in a room on the west side of the property, overlooking the courtyard-style parking area, what you lack in view you make up for with exceptional peace and quiet, away from traffic. You park at your door (or as close to it as possible) so unpacking and re-packing at the end of your stay are easy and your vehicle is always in view. Amenities are basic, but done well. We always have a comfortable sleep. The small refrigerator is big enough to meet our needs, and if we need to re-heat anything, the common room with the ice machine, vending, and free, fresh coffee is equipped with a microwave. Wi-fi is free, and in my opinion has been more reliable and easier to connect to our last few stays. Another welcome change is upgraded alarm clock radios with USB charging ports on the top...something the original owners couldn't have imagined when new! The motel has made a few changes since the pandemic. The previous continental breakfast has been discontinued (the coffee is still available). All of the staff are very friendly and willing to help...and I think by this point recognize us by name. One year they even e-mailed to confirm we had double-booked in error as they had an additional reservation for us a month after we had already made our visit for the year...they are truly attentive and have a good memory! Another thing that has been a constant over the years is exceptional cleanliness. Never has this been an issue. Besides the expected freshness of the room upon check-in, all furnishings are in good condition, and overall the property is in excellent condition for its age. About the only negative...having to leave to come home at the end of our stay! But we're already looking forward to next year, and there's no doubt that the Budget Host Crestview Inn is where we'll be staying. Try it and see what we mean!

Reviewed By A3705XNannegUse a code to open the door, had to put my shoulder in it to open it. The room smelled old and a bit musty. It really needs a remodel. The batheoom sink leaked uderneath, probably a loose connection, it made it hard to use at all. Thankfully I didn't spend much time there
