Reviewed By Donald PTwo nights repeat stay here was, as ever, delightful with a large and well equipped room, comfortable double bed and good views over the town. The position is ideal for visiting the Spa (Thermes) just downhill and thw whole town is walkable, including the rather more ambitious hill, the Pain de Sucre, where deer and some ponies are kept in fairly open conditions. Breakfasts were just fine, and we enjoyed one dinner there, well up to the standard of the hotel itself. We did not use the Casino incorporated, but the associated bar was pretty well stocked.

Breakfast was copious and delightfully presented and the one meal we had was not fancy but excellent with fresh ingredients. It was difficult to find something one wanted that wasn't available -except a better internet connection. Thank you again Mme Hofstetter

Good short stay spot a short walk from town
Reviewed By David MFirst time stay on a golf course and it was quite relaxing despite the very hot weather. Our room was one of the cheaper ones overlooking the course but was clean and pleasant, apart from the WC being oddly on the other side from the shower and washbasin. In late June it was quiet at night and no noise from the closed bar, but the hot weather had apparently encouraged the frogs to make a bit of noise at night if that bothers you. Reasonably-priced breakfast is very good woth fresh fruit on our second morning. Good value for money about 15 minutes walk into the centre of Salies, and 5-6 minutes walk to a Carrefour supermarket.

Reviewed By nkmcsI stayed here for two nights in August to attend a wedding locally. The hotel is quaint, quiet, very clean and owned by the most lovely, welcoming couple. It is in a beautiful period building which offers a cool relief from the hot temperatures outside. I had a perfect stay and would make no complaints. The breakfast is probably the best thing. Served by the wonderful hosts in the reception area - course after course of bread, fruit, yoghurt, pastry, ham, several local cheeses, even chocolate gateux ! I had a very sore head the day after the wedding and was nurtured back to reasonable health by a long, lovely breakfast - and they even made me a sandwich for the journey back to the airport ! Have never experienced hospitality like it. Thank you !!

Reviewed By traktorweltweitA peaceful, picturesque bed and breakfast close to the beautiful town of Salies-de-Béarn. We slept soundly all night in the most comfortable , cosy bed. The ensuite bathroom was spotlessly clean and has a really nice modern corner bath with local bath salts provided. Breakfast was heavenly with organic butter and yogurt, from a local farm, home baked almond cake, home made marmalade, grape and peach jam. The owner advised us on restaurants for dinner and helped us make a reservation. We wished we could stay longer and cannot recommend this B and B highly enough.

A very old house next to an incredible garden
Reviewed By tpilomiaWe stayed here only one night so had a superficial impression of the place. The house is enormous and very old, perhaps from the 18th century. Dense vegetation surrounds the place and there is a well-kept garden with many plant varieties behind the building. I think the vegetation takes away a lot of the sunlight and causes the house to be rather dark inside. There are several centuries of tree and plant growth here. Rooms need a serious makeover. The bathroom was tiny, making it quite hard to even sit on the toilet. The shower was also very small and not inviting to enter. There is a permanent musty odor hanging in the air and we had to sleep with the window open. Breakfast was adequate and no complaints there. The hostess was very polite and helpful. In conclusion, if you are looking for a B & B with old fashioned, rather sparse rooms and a sombre atmosphere this is the place. We were expecting something different.

It had everything you could wish for along with great facilities nearby (Carrefor 150m down the road). The receptionist was most welcoming and full of great and useful information...we look forward to another visit in the future.

Reviewed By antonioflorentinvThe hotel and it's yard are very well maintained and the staff is very friendly, they're able to hold conversations in the english language and this is definitely a huge advantage for foreign travelers, the location of the hotel is accessible, with a parking lot right next to the second building of the hotel. It's close to the town's centre and there's a lot to explore nearby. The thermal baths, the park, as well as a variety of stores are mere minutes of walking away. while the city can become quite busy at times, the area where the hotel is located is very quiet. My only complaint is that the internet can occasionally become slow in the afternoon, but it's still manageable, otherwise staying at this hotel was a great experience.
