Top 10 hotels in Saint-Tropez, France

August 7, 2022 Madelene Haan

Brigitte Bardot frolicked on the beaches of St. Tropez in the '50s; now it's the playground of rap stars and international socialites. Most of the sandy hot spots lie southwest of town on the Baie de Pampelonne. But if you're not P. Diddy, take heart: you'll find a few family-friendly, public beaches where the sun, sand and waves are just as fabulous.

#1 in St Tropez for a reason!

Villa Cosy's a genuine 5-star recommendation. Everything you expect, it'll be there - as are the things you don't think of until you see them. You have it all at your fingertips - a fun night out, the shops, the harbour, the beaches - and staying in is also a treat. We had a very spacious suite with a beautiful view over the vines (lots of appreciation for the cleanliness, the Dyson, the size of the bath, the comfort of the bed and the surprise Toto ;o). Enjoyed the peace and privacy of the Zen garden with its fab hot tub, great Spa treatments, impressive wine cellar and the warmth coming from everyone in the team; every day, rain or shine. Villa Cosy is a very special place.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in

Reviewed By 341jlc

This hotel is by far the worst I have ever stayed in. The prices are absolutely ridiculous and quite sickening - nearly a £1,000 a night! We literally felt robbed after checking in and seeing the state of this place. Please don’t be fooled by the 5 star rating. It is a 2 star at the very best. A hostel room would be nicer. The pillows are lumpy and hard. The duvet is a thin sheet of polyester and the mattress was the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on. They also have bed bugs - my body is covered in bite marks. The white bed linen is covered in old stain marks. The furniture is in a poor condition and it is very cheap looking. The suite floor tiles are all cracked and damaged. There are no showers in most of the rooms and only bath tubs (which they fail to mention on their website). We came back to our unmade and dirty room at 5pm after leaving the ‘clean my room’ sign on the door all day! That was the final straw and we decided to check out after staying for 1 night. We wish we had done our research better as there are some great hotels and air b&b’s in town for a fraction of the price. The only positive is that the staff were friendly but I felt sorry for them working in such a bad environment. I will not return and would not recommend.

Stylish hotel with beautiful garden and lounge

Reviewed By Tao-Aur-1

This excellent hotel embedded in a nice garden was a perfect location for me to relax and for food. The location is between the busy Saint Tropez and the beaches in the east. All rooms are well equipped with safe, minibar, a bathroom with separate shower and toilet. Since the hotel has only one storey, all rooms have a terrace with access to the garden. Also the room can be locked/entered by the terrace door which makes it convenient for visiting the lounge, pool and bar. The parking lot is directly in front of the room. The staff is very helpful and polite and they make the stay to a wonderful memory.

This was a very stylish hotel. I absolutely loved the swimming pool and copper bathtub! What a stylish accent and it was so nice when we were there since it was so chilly. We also were in the room that had the terrace facing the pool and were amazed that it was so quiet. I highly recommend that room. We were also thrilled that it offered free and secure parking.

St. Tropez is now my favorite city in South of France, because of this hotel

Reviewed By NicoleTarko7

For starters - felt like the website did not do this amazing place justice! I am also not familiar with boutique-like hotels, but I will forever prefer these over "luxury" high end ones! From the moment we arrived at this majestic destination, our first time and our first day visiting the South of France, we were greeted by the more than welcoming and incredible Sarah at the front desk. Not only did she make us feel so welcomed, she was so genuinely kind and throughout the whole stay offered to help us in any way possible, whether that was offering to make us a dinner reservation, call us a cab at any time, helping us with the AC remote that may have needed new batteries, or holding onto a bottle of wine to put out when my friends arrived the week after (who also had an incredible stay). Not only was Sarah amazing, but the entire staff was simply incredible. From the overnight Swedish bartender (I want to say his name was Ben?), who was very friendly and chatted with him for most of the rest of our second evening (not to mention 24/7 BAR SERVICE!), to the lady who ran the most beautiful breakfast spread I had ever seen and enjoyed (was very much worth the $22 euro). My boyfriend ended up picking the one table to sit at that didn't have a tablecloth or table settings - and she immediately ran over to make sure we did. While we were at breakfast, we were asked what room we were staying in and by the time we got back to our room within 20 minutes, it was cleaned up with fresh towels - just incredible. In addition to the stunning views and ambiance of this hotel, your staff truly made the experience that much more enjoyable. From St. Tropez, we ventured on to Nice, Monaco and then Mallorca, Spain. When we arrived back in the US, everyone asked us where our favorite place was and it was a simple answer, St. Tropez - and honestly, because of our hotel experience.

Great place to stay just on the edge of the town centre

Reviewed By IanW474

This is a very attractive hotel set about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the port. It is made up of an attractive collection of small buildings round quite a large pool within a lovely garden. The restaurant is a very attractive casual place with a patio for good weather, and breakfast, which was included in our rate was quite extensive and great quality. We ate dinner there one night and again the food was excellent, and reasonably priced for St Tropez, considering the ambience of the restaurant. We stayed in a junior suite, and to be frank the one we had (Bois de Rose) didn't really look like any of the pictures in the brochure - very much more basic and tired looking. The sofa, which was cream vinyl was worn and flaking and clearly the draped cover over the bed was missing considering the poles were fixed on the wall for it. The only table lamps in the room were on the night stands, the atmosphere wasn't great. The price of the suite was high, but it didn't live up to our expectations. I'd be horrified to pay the ultra high season rate! All in all we enjoyed our stay in this little oasis outside of what must be a dauntingly hectic town in the height of summer! The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We didn't raise our issues over the suite with the hotel as it was a special birthday stay and neither of us we found out wanted to spoil it by telling each other what we really thought while we were there!
