Penny Miller worst manager ever
Reviewed By briancoyle1023The hotel itself was great. Penny Miller however is the worst person I have ever dealt with in or out of a hotel. We stayed 2 nights at their hotel. She insisted it was 3. We came in a large group who can all verify that it was only 2 nights. Penny proceeds to threaten to submit a warrant for our arrests if we did not pay for the 3 days in under 2 hours. We received the threat 3 times over phone and one over email. We were told by the front desk that they would have it fixed and apologized for the problem but apparently the manager has a different plan in mind. That is to steal from anyone and everyone she can. She did the same with another couple staying their that arrived the same evening as we did. We spoke with other teams participating in the same event and were informed they are dealing with the same issue. Contacted corporate and they were unable to change her mind about it as they agreed with us but since it is a franchise…she can do as she wishes apparently. Corporate informed us to contact our credit card to dispute the charge and get it refunded for the 1 day overcharge. Always happy to pay for our stay but not pay for days we did not stay when only booked for 2 days period. Beware of Penny Miller at Hampton Inn of Rome, GA.

Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham is located directly downtown in the historic district in Rome GA . Our hotel is in a 1800's renovated warehouse. With exposed beams and original wood floors we have been able to use much of the original structure. We are a boutique style hotel with many modern ammenities. Hawthorn Suites in Rome has a car charger station on site which is a 48 amp. level 2. Our upscale lounge, "Off Broad" is a favorite for both hotel guest and the local residents. We have won numerous awards including Hotel of The Year in 2007, 2012 and 2015. Hawthorn Suites Rome, GA has also been awarded for their outstanding acheivment in various areas.Our friendly and professional staff is always ready to help you with any of your needs.

Reviewed By Aggie HHard bed and pillows. Weak internet, when it worked. Dust on the wall decor. Dogs allowed in the dining room. Bums hang out in front of hotel and management does nothing about it. Stay somewhere else. There is plenty of convenient parking.

Reviewed By oljim49The entire place has the odor of heavy disinfectant. The includes the lobby and the room. The room itself was very nice except for the odor. Our reservation was somehow screwed up so took a while to get checked in. Then we were informed that the breakfast room was closed due to lack of help, but I informed them that their website still indicated “free breakfast” and was told that there was a “grab and go” set up….not what we were looking for. Now the good news, Scott (the night clerk) was great. Bent over backwards to help everyone. The breakfast was not bad as they did have some fresh fruit and yogurt. All in all, other than the odor of the disinfectant, it was ok. Don’t think we will stay there again as I just detest that odor.

Reviewed By Tracy DBest Fairfield Inn at which I have stayed to date and as a Lifetime Titanium member, I have stayed at a LOT of Marriott properties and Fairfield Inns in particular. This place is new and its cleanliness and modern feel will attest to that. The staff is very nice and will go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and assist you in whatever need you might have. Unlike most hotel properties currently, there staff is actually present and accessible. If you are looking for hotel-type lodging in Rome, GA, look no further. The breakfast was GREAT. A cut above what you normally find at Fairfield Inns. It is also refilled and warm. They have a great back porch area where you can sit by a fireplace in cooler months or listen to the birds during the warmer ones. They have a bar and it serves food. The only thing I would tweak is to offer more food items, particularly microwaveable meal types, in their marketplace pantry. If you come in late at night and aren't interested in sweets, there's nothing there to eat. Other than that, it was a perfect stay. I look forward to an eventual return.

The facility itself appears to date from the 1980's, but was very clean and well-maintained, with up-to-date furnishings. For the very affordable price, I'd say we received a super deal.

Reviewed By ladybug59Checking in, the clerk gave us the room card for the door. Upon entering the room, I noticed the door to the adjacent room was opened. I tried the lock the door and the dead bolt would not secure in the door jam. Went down and told the lobby clerk. The clerk put us in another room on the third floor. Entering the elevator, pressed number 3 and did not work. Made another trip down the front lobby and told the clerk. He had to manually reset the elevator to make it work. Arrived in our room, turned on the TV. Guess what, the TV did not work. Tried to call the desk clerk on the room phone and it did not work. Now it’s third trip down to the lobby clerk. Lobby clerk had to reset the TV box. The room phone just did not work. I would not stay at this place again. It needs repairs and updating. The only positive note, the staff was friendly.

Reviewed By JnL2004We had spent a few days here as we were in town for our oldest daughter’s wedding last week. The hotel was very perfect; friendly, accommodating, clean, and affordable. We had a great experience and would highly recommend here to anyone. Such a great place to be.
