Top 10 hotels in Province of Granada, Spain

September 7, 2022 Hector Krause

There’s an Arabic inscription that captures the essence of Granada in a few words: “There is nothing so sad as to be blind in Granada.” The perspicacity of this declaration becomes obvious as soon as you penetrate the austere walls of the Alhambra and take in the full majesty of the architecture, carvings and fountains of the Nasrid palaces. Your ticket (which should be bought well in advance following the instructions on the attraction’s website) also affords entry to the Renaissance Palace of Carlos V and to the exquisite gardens of the Generalife. If you are celebrating a special event, or are in the market for a splurge, you can stay in the lovely Parador, right on site. Make your way down into the city via the atmospheric old quarter of the Albaicin, with its tiny craft shops and restaurants, and head for the Cathedral and Royal Chapel. Also plan a visit to the crypt for the tombs of Ferdinand and Isabella, the instigators of Spain’s imperial adventures to the New World and beyond. It’s worth making the short journey out of town to visit the Monasterio Cartuja, a fabulous Carthusian monastery in the baroque style. Admirers of the poet Lorca should make the effort to visit the Casa-Museo Federico Garcia Lorca in Fuente Vaqueros, about 11 miles from the city centre.

Impressive Playa Granada

Lovely place

Reviewed By Goldencouple66

We visited Playa Granada for 22 days, it was a very nice stay at this hotel. Most important were the adjustments made for people with a disability, wheelchair friendly with access to all parts of the resort including the room a large bathroom with toilet with armrests. Special thanks to the lady of guest relation, Maribel. Most adorable and helpful in any way! Food is good, with variety. Maybe onely minus is just the one poolbar, can get busy and you have to wait in line for a drink. All inclusive concept is good! Not much to do around if you dont have car. Overall a lovely place to stay, most friendly staff!

AC not working and challenging staff

Reviewed By ADAM_Smith_surrey

Hotel was OK but a bit run down, few items looked dated. Importantly, the AC in both rooms we booked was "stuck" at 25 degrees, was difficult to sleep. Matter raised with staff on a number of occasions with repeated promises of it is fixed now. The team became increasingly rude and unprofessional as the issue was not resolved. Had a terrible two nights as this was the only option as the team was more and more difficult, even though the room temperature was clearly showing 25 9n the monitor. Hotel spoiled what was supposed to be a great first family visit to Granada.

comfortable and great location and breakfast, staff not that helpful

Reviewed By Graham B

This is a large comfortable hotel within fairly easy walking distance of the main attractions. The room was spacious, large bathroom storage etc. No view - we overlooked an interior courtyard but we weren't there for the view. The breakfast was very good - huge selection. The staff weren't that helpful. We asked if we could have a late check out of an hour but they refused - we had been there 4 nights so that was unreasonable. The hotel wasn't full so no reason not to be generous with a late check out.
