Reviewed By belsterling560Incredibly friendly staff!! Breakfast was delicious, Terry was exceptional. Room was clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to any friends or family. Also got a room rate at a ver reasonable fare considering all other hotels were almost double the price.

Nicely appointed for HI Ex, didn't eat breakfast, but looked complete and well monitored. room was clean and efficiently appointed with desk, clothes hooks as well as closet. (I like the hooks!) Good nightlight in BR is very helpful. Value for money good in a summer vacation area. All good!

Lenny at the front desk was super helpful and gave us great recommendations for food and what to do when we had some downtime. The room was a basic room. We didn't swim but there was a pool outside. They had a breakfast room and plenty of places to sit outside the breakfast room. Nice place.

Great Get Away
Reviewed By Daniel BWe spent the evening at The Island House Hotel, we needed a getaway. The charm of this historic hotel was a special relief from the ver-blown chain motels. The great staff and location are beyond excellent. We had a suite so we had plenty of room to hang out after checking out the local dining and shopping steps away from the hotel. The bed was very comfortable too. We will be back soon.

Reviewed By LisaPaintsThis motel is crisp and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but very nice. The pool is extra small but the area looked to be clean and inviting. The view of the lake is great, especially at sunrise and sunset. Sitting by the lake is a beautiful bonus. The breakfast food is the worst of all motels. Prepackaged processed food. Not even a toaster. It stops @ 9. No coffee or juice after 9. It is not because of covid. FI you need to fix this.

Stayed One Night for Walleye Festival
Reviewed By stewwestStayed here many times over the past 10+ years, usually 1-2 nights around Memorial day weekend. The people are super nice and the location is ideal. All in, 1 night on 5/29/21 was $225.99, which feels high to me. That is based on my view of market demand in the area (Port Clinton) and my previous pricing at this hotel. The TV in our room only had 1 station (local ABC) which was not incredibly convenient.

A Little Pricey for a minimalist motel

No maid service while under Covid restrictions, but fresh towels available. Grab and go breakfasts was adequate. Coffee, hot and delicious. The rooms are very small. At least the one that we booked for 189.00 per night. No closet. Only a half of an open rack to hang clothes. Only the legnth for f suit jackets. The bottom of my dresses were bundled in a ball. No dresser. The television was directly above the desk. Could not see TV with desk chair in the way, and definitely not if someone was sitting there. You could move desk chair away, but not much area to move it in the room. No bath, only shower. That's ok for us though. No free newspaper as marketed and NOT smoke free. Many areas where people were smoking

Absolutely filthy
Reviewed By elbodansI’ve never in my life written a one star review—until now. Because I’ve never in my life stayed anywhere this filthy. And I’ve been traveling full time for work (and in my free time for leisure) for eight years. I sincerely do not understand all of the reviews which state that this motel is clean. I read those reviews and that’s why I booked a room here. It’s not clean. I’ve been in cleaner gas station restroom. The MAJORITY of gas station restrooms I’ve been in are cleaner than the Arlington Inn. The carpet was greasy and stained (see photo.) The bathroom was sticky and covered in hair that was there when we arrived (again, photos provided.) The bathroom vents were caked in dust as was the AC unit. The shower curtain was moldy—see photos of all of this. We asked to be moved to a less dirty room and after inspecting our room to make sure it was in fact dirty the kid in the office did provide us another room. The floor in that room was less horrific but the rest is as described above. The photos I’m sharing are all from the cleaner room—with the exception of the carpet photo. I understand that this year is hard and that help is hard to find. This is NOT that. This hotel has not been cleaned since LONG before 2020. I also wish to talk about the toilet. I need to do so in a modest way so here it goes: the toilet was small. And by small I mean the entire toilet. Including the seat and the hole in the seat. I am an extremely averaged sized person (I’m female) and I could not easily use the toilet as the seat was too small. That’s all I’m going to say about that. My husband also struggled but less so because of how men’s bodies work. I also saw someone dealing in the parking lot and the guy in the room next door was sitting on the chair outside his door smoking weed. I slept with my shoes on the first night and we checked out in the morning cutting our trip short. We did so because to add insult to injury the mayflies emerged in the night and the building and our door were fully covered in them. I realize this is a natural, normal occurrence but when we suddenly couldn’t even go outside of the filthy room (because everything was covered in flies) something in me broke and I needed to leave the entire town. So we did. Do not stay here. It should be noted that the AC worked very well and there was warm water in the shower.

We are a Guest Oriented motel catering to the outdoors enthusiast, Lake Erie boaters,and family groups. We offer boat parking, dockage and Portage River access. We are close to "everything". 1 1/2 mile from Historic Downtown Port Clinton, the Jet Express to Put in Bay, dining, shopping and marinas. White Caps Motel is the perfect jumping off point for everything Lake Erie has to offer.
Clean, comfortable and very reasonably priced
Reviewed By landl1234Accommodations were clean and comfortable in this 1950s style motor court. Front desk staff were welcoming as well. Nightly rates were very reasonable, especially considering how much room rates have increased in the lodging industry this year.
