Fantastic Hotel
Reviewed By artycgillStayed at the hotel for some time now whilst working in Taiwan. The hotel has great size rooms and a restaurant and cafe which both serve delicious meals. On the top floor there is a swimming pool, gym and sauna and a kids play area. The staff are very helpful and always there to lend a hand. Thanks to Amy the manager and her team for looking after me. I will be staying at the Howard Plaza whenever I am in Hsinchu.

Reviewed By David HFirst time ever, came to motel with KTV and sang. The motel is well equipped, nest, clean and somewhat romantic for couple to spend quality time together. The sound quality of KTV is great. I’m very impressed the system has so many English songs (up to 12 pages) available. I sang several English and some old Chinese songs. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much at this motel.

Perfectly acceptable 3-star hotel in the center of Hsinchu City
Reviewed By sbabonesFirst, note that all sources other than Tripadvisor list this hotel as "H.M. Hotel" not "Hold Me Hotel." It is marked as "H.M. Hotel" on maps as well. The hotel occupies the 11th and 12th floors of a nondescript office building. The hotel is firmly 3-star, meaning that it has 24 hour desk service, breakfast, English speaking staff, etc., but not business or concierge services. One of the other reviews says that it "smells" ... this is pretty typical for 3-star hotels in Asia. My room was very slightly musty. I opened the window. The hotel has recently been renovated with new furniture and bedding sprucing up a somewhat run-down building. Note that the hotel is in Hsinchu City, not Hsinchu County and is within walking distance of the Hsinchu train station, not the Hsinchu high speed rail station. On the Hsinchu City tourist map the hotel is easily found: look for the "05" market in the middle of the map. The hotel is next door to the Hsinchu City Fire Museum and across the street from and slightly north of Hsinchu City Hall, a Japanese-era landmark building. The hotel is fantastically located for Hsinchu City tourism, a few blocks from the East Gate landmark, a major shopping center, cafes and restaurants, etc. It's about a 15 minute walk from the (slow) train station. The hotel internet is fast and robust, with both wireless and wired service available. My only real complaint is that the hotel has adopted the now-fashionable approach of having a shower with no shower curtain, letting the water get all over the tiled bathroom floor to be wiped up later. I can't stand this but it's more and more common, I suppose because it's easier to clean. Otherwise the bathroom as fine -- though not wheelchair accessible. Overall, I was very happy with my stay, especially considering the low price.

Great location and best value stay
Reviewed By SunnyCal2014This is a boutique hotel located in downtown. Very close to Train Stations and the hotel offers free taxi to stations. I took the High speed rail to Hsinchu, and there's a bus stop not 5 min. from the hotel Very convenient. The Rooms are big and clean, my family (total of 4) stayed there for 5 nights. Breakfast is excellent and fill with fresh fruits. I will definitely stay there again.

Very poor - rooms smelt damp

Black mould on ceiling , very worn fittings. Impossible to stop shower from soaking floor. Whole room smelt damp. Checked out two days early becuase quality was so low.

Nice hotel right in the city center
Reviewed By pulmbubbleThe hotel is in a good position which is very close to the city center with just short walk. The front desk was very friendly and quick service. The room was in a good size with bath tub and shower separately. The deco of the room was old but with great condition. The price was great . Only disadvantage was the parking lot cannot take big vehicle, so need to park outdoor at public parking facility which is about 100 m away but they will pay the fees.

Reviewed By MINORU TThis hotel is located a bit of far from central of Hsicnhu and it is convenient to take a taxi from Hsinchu station. I think it takes 10-15mins by taxi from the station. As baseball ground is just in front of this hotel, you may see the game directly from you room. (When I stayed, I could see it) In a sense, it may not a bit of quiet during the game. I think there is a few restaurant around this hotel and need to walk going there.

Reviewed By HongTao1991Price and feedback from tripadvisor were the key consideration when I pick this hotel. It offered all the basics what you need for staying in the hotel. The breakfast is almost the same everyday. The key issue is that the food is not covered properly and yet there are flies around as weather is still hot.

Reviewed By Dirk WActually it´s a motel what asians called "Love Hotel" . Couplets go there to have "fun". Every day they put a condom at my bed ! The rooms are ok but old! The staff is friendly and they try to take care for everything! there 2 7/11´s and a supermarket around 10min. walking. Close to hotel is a very good pizza restaurant (harbor area) around 20min. walking!
