A great place to stay on a rural trip via southern Spain
Reviewed By Malerino+ Very cozy traditional white roundy architecture + Beautiful view from the terrace, nice territory + Totally quiet at night + Breakfast at the terrace (view!) with a large variety of options to have + Nice, friendly and welcoming owner Celeste - It was a bit chilly in the room - The bed was wire mesh - might be inconvenient for someone - The bathroom was separated with a piece of cloth - not ideal at some moments - The dinner could be better (fish was not that tasty) but as it was completely optional (50EUR for 2 prs), so this did not affect the score

Albaricoques Rural¨ is located inside Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park. Our 7 country cottages are a unique place to enjoy a few days of rest and tranquility, with a privileged location in a natural setting among almond and olive trees. Each country cottage has a living room-kitchen , bedroom, bathroom and exterior terrace with garden furniture.The architectural style of our villa found its inspiration in the Catalan architect, Josep Lluis Sert, as reflected in his book ¨ SERT: Mediterranean Architecture. Our desire was to create a space that would be in harmony with the natural environment, and we therefore adapted our design to showcase the existing almond and olive trees already on the property before our arrival, respecting and nurturing each and every one of them. The cottages reflect a typical Mediterranean style. In our design we have sought simplicity and beauty on one hand, and practicality and comfort on the other. There is a harmonious intermingling of local stone with noble woods, and clay floors with the brilliant whitewashed walls of the buildings. Extreme care was taken with each and every detail in design and decoration. Another main objective of our project has been compliance with the highest standards in sustainability, natural resources management and recycling, through the use of alternative energy and all that the use of new technology can contribute to the project. We have thus been able to provide the buildings with sanitary hot water and radiant floor heating by using solar energy, and we were also able to design a system that allows us to recycle 100% of an extremely scarce and vital resource, especially in this geographical area, which is water, through a purification process carried out by means of bacteria as opposed to the use of chemicals and through its subsequent use for the watering of trees and plants all around the villa.

Reviewed By Nathan DWe spent an amazing weekend at this spot. So much character and detail. The management is helpful and took care of us. Would recommend!! Beaches are close by. Many local adventures to be had. Scenes from the Good the Bad and the Ugly close by!

Camping La Caleta, a different place on the coast of Natural Park Cabo de Gata-Nijar. Bungalows for 2, 3 and 4 people. Enjoy a privileged position, at once, the sea and the mountain in a unique setting. Camping La Caleta to get to the beach you do not need vehicle, or long walks, because we have a wonderful cove for our campers, Cala del Cuervo.
Motorhome

Unfortunately not long before there had been a pretty terrible storm though we were at that time further south and did not experience it. As a result the pool had been flooded with water and debris and was shut down full of dirt.The beach was also decimated by floodwater and was not really useable. The sea was still rough. The access to this pretty little campsite is via a small truck from the town around the hill / mountainside with not much passing space, though most of it is made up. The pitches are nice but generally only good for small Motorhomes or campers and the scaffold awnings only 2.7 m high.It was quiet so we able to use an end of row pitch which was clear of the cover so it worked ok,but not many of those. I am sure when everything is working ok it is a delightful place to stay. It’s a bit of a track from the motorway so not being able to have a swim with temps in the very high 20’s was disappointing but I guess not their fault. Everything else ok and the receptionist charming with pretty good English. Ring fist though!

Room with a view
Reviewed By VistomaStayed just 2 nights at Las Olas in a room with no kitchen,my choice didn't want to cook on holiday!, and had a balcony overlooking the marina. We arrived at the apartment and called a number provided on the booking and had to wait just a few minutes for Vanessa to arrive from the hotel she also owns with her sister very friendly and informataive and we were quickly ensconced. The car parking, if no spaces left of the 3 out front, was quite difficult up a VERY steep incline next door which was bumpy and had wheels spinning. The balcony is very small with just enough room for 2 chairs and a very small side table BUT that was big enough for us to enjoy a glass of red or 2. The view was stunning albeit over the marina and not the beach or town itself. The place was very quiet and peaceful. Very clean and great shower and more than comfortable enough as a base for a couple of days. Would not hesitate to recommend but be ready to walk up a steep hill and park up and even steeper one. Really enjoyed the time there on our road trip.

Reviewed By cris8ccCasa rural bien situada para poder visitar todas las playas de Cabo de Gata, que se encuentran a unos 30 minutos. Mucho aparcamiento cercano a la casa. José y Esperanza fueron encantadores y nos recomendaron muchos sitios a nuestra llegada. Lo recomiendo 100%!

Great setting by the sea and the jetty, average food
Reviewed By amdgriggsWe’ve been here before, nearly ten years ago, and loved the setting then and now. The food is rather ordinary though, especially for vegetarians - a lunchtime salmorejo was great, but the evening’s pea omelette and grilled artichokes were adequate, no more, and Jenny’s fish, though fresh, came with no lemon or salt and pepper or anything else. The chocolate tart we shared to finish was a relative highlight as a result. Come here for the setting and the freshness of the fish, not the cuisine.

Reviewed By Brig1Tout était parfait. Un cadre pour les amoureux des cactus plus surprenants les uns que les autres. Des petits salons disséminés dans la colline pour contempler le paysage. Après des journées de marche sur Cabo de Gata, ce cortijo est l’option parfaite. Nous avons dîné les deux soirs, simple et de bons produits. El jamón ibérico divino ! Les petits déjeuners fantastiques réalisés par une cuisinière hors pair. Notre regret être incapable de goûter à tout.

Nijar Hostal Asensio offers air conditioning and free WiFi in Nijar. This is a 25-minute drive from the beaches of the national park of Cabo de Gata. The rooms are simple decor and a work desk, heating and TV. The private bathroom has a bathtub and hairdryer (ask at reception).
Bad accomodation
Reviewed By Sirio MWe came in this hotel after Granada, we arrived late cause traffic jam and we didn't call to say that, we arrived at around 11 pm. The receptionist told us immediately that our behavior was wrong, and after that he started being very rude for everything. For example we went out for a drink and when we went back he was waiting for us out of the door like we had to be sleeping at midnight. The room was ok but a bit expensive.
