Domaine Du Ferret Balneo & Spa

Enjoy a a peacefull and relaxing space between the Bassin and the Atlantique Ocean in the heart of the famous and prestigious "presqu'ile du Cap Ferret". Our Domaine allows you to live intensly your aspiration to wellness, and relax on a space of several hectares leaned to the state owned forest.

A beautiful location in a delightful setting. The Spa makes it! However, be warned the restaurant is pricey.

This is a beautiful property set in stunning forest. The lodges fit in with the environment perfectly. They are beautifully appointed and decorated. What I would have liked is a small welcome basket of tea/coffee maybe even a small bottle of wine. The staff had left a lovely welcome message in accommodation acknowledging my birthday so I don’t think it was too much to ask. A few improvements in the restaurant are required though. Food was undeniably excellent but far too expensive. This isn’t a 5 star hotel and I suspect attracts a different clientele so more choice required on the menu. The menu du jour should have two/three options for starter/main/dessert. Price was reasonable for this but there was no choice, just as is. On the night we were there it was fish starter and main so if you didn’t like fish, you had no other option but à la carte. We also found service a bit rushed in the restaurant which again didn’t match the prices. Spa was fabulous and large so never felt crowded. However, to charge a supplement for residents of €20 per person per day seems a bit much when accommodation already cost €220 per night. Overall, I would recommend it and go back but I would take a box of groceries and eat out. Breakfast is worth it though and incredible value at €16. We didn’t have the Sunday brunch as it was ridiculously expensive at €49 per person. More than double what we normally pay in Bordeaux. A lovely relaxing location.

Avoid at all costs

Reviewed By asimon1989

Avoid, avoid, avoid. Ridiculously expensive for what it is. Bathroom looked as if it was taken from a festival port-a-loo. Rooms unbelievably stuffy. Constant smell of deep fat frying. The proximity to beach was the only positive and even then you're on a busy road that doesn't quieten down till the early hours of the morning.

Worth a look if nothing else is available

Reviewed By caido_ie

Le Sporting is, essentially, a tennis club with a few rooms built on to the side. We stayed there because of its location on Cap Ferret – however there aren't many good local options for food/drinks (within walking distance) and the services provided at the hotel are fairly basic. That said, the sporting facilities and the pool are good, the rooms are perfectly nice, and they put on a load of laundry for us as we were mid-way through our cycling honeymoon and a bit stuck for clothes! If there's other accommodation further down the Cap, go for it. If not, this place should serve you quite nicely.

Beautifully quiet

Reviewed By simplelifefrance

We stayed in one of the wooden cabins for 2 nights. Easy to find, and located in a quiet area. We've found noise to be a problem at many other sites nearer the beaches. This was perfect. Cabin was fully equipped and in excellent condition. Very clean. We went out of season so there were only around half a dozen other couples there. Plenty of trees and hedges to separate plots. Our cabin had its own shower and toilet so we cannot comment on the communal services. There is a communal lounge available with tv, sofas, books, internet access, games for children, dining tables and tea/coffee making facilities. We found the Wifi reached our cabin anyway which was great. There is a snack bar but don't think it was open when we were there. You can order croissants and bread for the following day from the office. Only a 5 minute drive from Lidl and L'Eclerc supermarkets. We took our own deckchairs for lounging in and our own bedding/towels. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Great activities on offer, yet variable standard of accommodation & cleaning of common facilities

Reviewed By FrenchyVal

+ : great fitness activities (I love Zumba with Charlotte & la danse des villages in the pool! Bands playing in the evening, outside provider in the evening selling stuff, great relaxed atmosphere, good mini supermarket on site, and helpful security. The pool is good with slides. There is one tennis court. It also look like a good place for kids and teenagers - with a popular teenager club which offers activities like Kayak. - : Accomodation standard is varied on site: we had 2 weeks with 2 different mobil home: the first one was very small, very close to the neighbours/ hence noisy. It did not have good ventilation, which made the summer nights horrible. The second one was best placed and less close to neighbours which was very nice. It was bigger too and better ventilated. The furnishing (pots and pans were dated and dirty), no TV. The entrance to the pool was always dirty, and numbers were not restricted in the pool despite COVID. The tennis court could do with a booking system.
