To the Owner. I should bring this matter to your attention early but I waited until my trip ended. After a long drive from Bar Harbor to your location, I checked in on October 1, room 12. The atmosphere, the view, the room were very nice. My wife and I took a walk down to the beach, looked at the restaurant menu and wanted to have some drinks later at the beach before getting to Blue Bistro for dinner. When we sat down at the beach, we ordered some drinks, but it started getting cold so we talked to the manager to pay for our drinks and take our drinks to the restaurant. The hostess was nice to seat us without a reservation, but it went downhill from there. A waiter in a black uniform approached us and when he saw our drinks on the table, he was very rude and demanding. He questioned us, "What are these?" in a very loud tone. I advised they were drinks from the beach. He raised his voice again, "Where and what are these??" Then he yanked the wine glass off the table, almost knocking down my drink glass at the same time. Then he pull the wine bottle so hard that cause the menu dropdown the floor. A few minutes later, a female hostess walked to our table and told us we could not drink here. I asked, "Even if our drinks are from the beach bar? She raise her voice also -- "He (the waiter) told me no, you are not allow." My wife and I decided to walk out. The waiter started to stare, and provoked us with his hands on his hips, walking toward us on our way out to the door. We walked faster to try to get back to our room downstairs. When we walk out of the door and turned right to go downstairs to our room, the hostess was yelling and laughing at us from behind, and calling out loud to the manager that we were carrying our drinks around. A hostess stopped when she saw I pulled out our room key. Then she said, "Oh you stay here, you can come back for your table." No, my money will go somewhere else, not here." I replied. We walked back to our room in disbelief, scared that the waiter may come to our room looking for us. We double locked our doors, blocked it with the love seat...it was terrible feeling and regretted that we layover night at your resort. We want you to take this matter very seriously and retrain your people. Tell them that they have to serve all the customers equally. Also remind them that they work for tips and they get pay by your customers ' money thru the management. You may contact me at my email address or phone number if requested. This letter will be a review on Yelp and travel advisory pages. Thank you

Quick trip to Winni

We had a brief stay over this past Summer in the Inn. We chose the Margate because we never stay in that area and we had nostalgic family connections to it. The lobby was welcoming and adorable at first impressions. Has a nice modern lake-life theme. We spent quite a bit of time in the indoor pool because the lake did not have enough beach chairs/ seating. We did get to play on the lawn. The beach itself was just swamped with a crowd but it was July! The outdoor pool at the inn was quiet and private but it was beyond cold haha! My kids found it refreshing but as an adult it was too much. Our room had two sections so we had 4 full/queen beds. The TV in the main room was very small for the wall but it did the trick. I think the room could have been cleaner but the little things that existed were not enough to complain. Our door did not lock properly but someone came to fix it quickly. The restaurant appeared closed while we were there but we never really checked on it again. We were so close to plenty of food options. We would go back with the family.

Amazing place, amazing views

Loved everything about our weekend stay. We chose one of the classic king cottages. We had stayed in one over 40 years ago, and loved it then. The classic cottages haven’t been renovated as recently as other cottages, but that was fine with us! The cottage was immaculate, and the view from the front porch was amazing. There was a fridge, coffee maker and microwave. Walking distance to many restaurants, a nice brewery right down the road, less than a ten minute walk. Also, nice little pathway to Kellerhaus. The owners are onsite and very friendly. There were quite a few folks staying who had their dogs with them , and all were well behaved, and fun to watch. Can’t wait to return , and bring more of our family with us.

A comfortable night's rest. I was bone-tired from a long motorcycle ride in the rain. I was greated pleasantly, and although the check-in process was a bit slow, due to a new empoloyee being trained, it was courteous. I had my room in just a couple minutes and was able to relax. It was a pleasant place for the price. I had a very comfortable night's rest. The picture in their advertising may be a bit deciptive as it appeares to be on a bay or horbor. Nope, it's just a small river which flows through the town and empties into the lake. The location is great and allows easy walking access to much of the community. I'd stay there again without hesitation.

Cabin was super clean, warm, and quiet. Bed was very comfortable and staff were wonderful. Cabin has well equipped kitchen, oven and stove, microwave and fridge, WiFi , TV, and phone. There’s also an outdoor charcoal grill, but staying in mid December I passed on that. I’m looking forward to my next visit there.

Nice resort - no major complaints except for some unfriendly staff members

Reviewed By Theresa K

Building 2, ground floor, 2 bedroom/2 bath unit. Very spacious & clean with a fully stocked kitchen, dishwasher & clothes washer/dryer, balcony. Since it seems to be a mostly summer resort area, there were not many guests in March & we enjoyed the quiet. We had the nice indoor pool & huge hot tub to ourselves - jets in hot tub aren't very strong, but water temp was nice. Location is nice, close to area activities, although everything was closed at this time of year. Our only dissatisfaction was with the staff. While they weren't rude, we constantly got the feeling that we were "bothering them". We arrived late, about 10pm & were checked in by an individual at the main building, who we later found out was "only a security guard" & that we arrived "after hours". We had never received any info that we needed to check in by a certain hour! The next day - as we are all sitting in our pajamas, the door to our condo opens!! They checked someone else into our room & gave them a keys! We both smiled about it, but when we went to the desk to report this, the staff acted like it was OUR fault - saying "it is not the responsibility of security to enter guests into the computer, so they had no way of knowing we were in the condo". We bluntly told them that they needed to update their system of checking guests in at night, or to advise guests to report back to the front desk in the morning! It was unbelievable that they were trying to blame US that they checked 2 guests into the same room !! Additionally, the TV in the living room did not work, & it took 2 days (2 phone calls & an additional trip to the main building) before someone finally came to fix it. We actually waited up several hours one night because we were told "they would be there as soon as they could" & we didn't want to miss them. At check out we wanted to report that the hose on the dryer that kept popping out, & 2 other minor details that we thought they should address, so that the next guest would have a nice stay - but the staff wouldn't even look at us, even though there were no other guests they were helping. As we tried to tell them about the things that needed to be fixed, they kept cutting us off, staring at computers, saying "ok thank you" before we could even finish our sentences. Again, no one was ever outright rude (in fact when the guy finally showed up to fix the tv he was very pleasant) but those who work front desk could use a few lessons in customer service & professionalism.
