Not Worth It
Reviewed By Elle_gurlWe went there on June 4 for an overnight stay as that is the only available slot. The place was ok and not impressive as the pictures, a bit unkempt but the worst part are the services. The place is quite isolated. Even if you are a guest you have to make a reservation in their only restaurant in order to have dinner at the buffet, Mind you, front desk does not inform most of their guests of this upon check in. We were refused entry at the resto and many guests had no choice but to find their luck outside the "resort" Lucky for them and unlucky for us we told front desk that we were never advised upon check in so they allowed to go on. It turned out we have to order from the limited menu since they still won't allow us to eat from the buffet. We reluctantly agreed as we have seniors and children in tow who don't wanna drive out. Our food came in batches with 30 minute interval each time. First the tomato soup that tastes like it came from a can. Then the sad ceasar salad, next came the seafood fritters which consist of, french fries. calamares that tastes like rubber and battered canned tuna. After almost 2 hours we can't take it any longer and just asked them to serve the fried chicken to go. We paid over 6,000 pesos. When we got to our rooms, the fried chicken were all burned, tasting like charcoal. I was livid at this point but still i coolly asked the manager what he can offer He washed his hands and blamed the chef! He begrudgingly gave me the option to refund the chicken or he can cook us another batch. It was already 10:30 I asked him if they can buy us food outside as I am so reluctant at this point to eat the food. He said he can't risk his staff at night So I told him that he has inconvenienced his guests and now we are all hungry with nowhere to go I ordered him to refund us the chicken and make sure to cook another batch with no charge. Told him this is the worst service and they claim to be a 5 star resort! The meal was delivered to our rooms at almost 11:30 with a slice of apology cake The next day the breakfast buffet came in second worst! Slice of hotdogs, runny scrambled eggs, danggit and giniling with a side of over riped fruits! Worst hotel!

Reviewed By doctorfoxtrotWent there for an overnight stay . After the welcome drinks we got to check in. The veranda facing pool family room was spacious. Comfortable beds. AC just fine, it was scorching hot outside and I guess that will do. Toilet had poor exhaust but it has amenities and there is a bidet. Water amply provided but cable Cignal Tv was erratic. Wifi provision was really ok. What I liked is the beachfront availability, and the 2 pools , the older one and the infinity. Letdown was the restaurant though , they lost my spouses reservation , but we still had dinner there. . Breakfast was slow , but they should thoroughly consider making it a buffet set up since other resorts offer better morning meal choices. Staff are generally more of the good than the bad. Loved it when some of the housekeeping would say “Awesome morning “ ! What gets me excited is that they are constructing a huge hotel facing the ocean. The main lobby and the infinity pool is already being utilised. Views from many of the rooms promise to be fantastic. Now that is something “Awesome” to look forward to.

A Cozy Surf Place. We are a cozy little surf hotel, #surfmaid, on the coral side of our small beach area in San Juan, La Union. We are situated right at the point, where all the more advanced surfer come to surf. A great view from our Restaurant/Bar area, #bluesurferslounge, or from one of our Beach Side Balcony Suites. Reviewed By chris wOnly got one night here but we loved it.We had a room with a little balcony to the back of the property facing the hills...I wish though I had paid a little extra and had the supreme spot overlooking the surf and surfers of this beach..there are balcony’s facing the sea....try and get one of these...you won’t be disappointed. Staff are great,we had a fridge, and jug ....nice soft chairs for tv watching , great Wifi and a safe.highly recommend!!!...just letting you know though...aircon was very noisy!

Reviewed By John TNot a comfortable place to stay. Here are the reasons: 1. Rooms are wide but not neat. Spider webs are present everywhere. 2. Tiles with rust 3. Water pressure is almost nothing. 4. Refrigerator with molds. 5. No kiddie pool. 6. Plated breakfast is fair. 7. Air-con unit is too small for the room. Overall, I will not recommend this place. Not family friendly, though staffs are good.

The room is very dirty, they use mattress cases as blankets, the room is full of molds and smells like hell (they well only spray with some solback or something) , they did not clean the toilet room. When the issue was raise they can only say that their top management is thinking of a solution only for you to wait and wait for nothing. They destroyed the mood of the event. Bad function hall, terrible AV equipment's. They will say sorry but for the sake of saying sorry. If there is something that they are very attentive about, that would be money$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Few guest are being prioritized to the prejudice of others despite being paid more than their regular rate. No toiletries provided........ TV is ruined.... No internet..... When you check in make sure to record the things in the or else You might be blamed for non existing items that were not there in the first place. Not Safe... Wires dangling... Toilet has a trace of someone's fecal matter...... Shower rooms have lots of dead slugs.... Room is like a storage.... Their staffs and managers are beyond RUDE!!! Were are MORE THAN NICE to them at least even after the HORRIBLE TREATMENT.

Bella Vista Resort is a combination day public swimming with kubo ( cottage rentals) and a hotel villa with a onsite rental. We are on the outskirts of Naguilian a town ten minutes from the ocean. We feature 5 rooms on one floor that surround a commonly shared living roo The hotel villa is right next to the pool. The pool has 3 areas ranging from 2 ft to 7 ft deep. Our model is to have a place.

We booked one of the rooms, as it looked good on the pictures, it was supposed to be 22m2 deluxe studio (as described by the owner), so it seemed large enough to spread our luggage on the floor. We booked the room for 4 nights, and arrived at around 8pm. Upon arrival, we entered the kitchen/reception area, and the place was deserted. Me managed to locate someone who we could deal with , after talking to two diffrent people that were wandering around the reception/kitchen area. Owner's wife came and I said we had the booking made for one of their deluxe studio rooms for 4 nights, she replied , the booking she had for us was for 1 night. She then called her husband, and after a few minutes of discussion, they confirmed it was in fact for 4 nights. The owner came and I told him, we booked one of their better rooms, the deluxe studio for 4 nights. He wasn't happy after hearing me saying this, and said that those rooms were booked and we could only stay there for two nights and then we would have to move to an other room. He then said, he would give us one of his best rooms, newly built one. We went to take a look at the room, it was one of the room by the car park, with only one large glass door, no windows The room looked small, but since we were tired we tought we would try, as he assured us, if we were not happy he would change the room for us. We were then told by the owner that breakfast is strictly from 07:30 - 08:00 am, if we come by 08:30 we would be eating cold breakfast. The restaurant closes by 06:00pm we were told. The place looked completely empty, old , and poorly looked after and not what you see on those glossy pictures. We asked the owner if he could supply us with some small fridge, as there was none in the room, so we could keep some cold water and mangoes in, he wasn't very happy about the request, and said that he will try to buy one the next day, but as we spoke to him more, we could see he wasn't happy about buying a small fridge for the room, he wanted desperately for us to use his bar, even to buy some water when the bar in fact is closed after 06:00 pm. We went to our room, and we quickly realised that: the room was very small, not enough space to spread our luggage and be able to walk around, the room was very basic, no ventilation in the bathroom, no window in the bathroom, so if you take shower or use the toilet, all this smell and steam has nowhere to escape, and no window in the room (apart of that large glass door). We wanted to watch TV, it wasn't working, Netflix was constantly reloading, buffeting when we were trying to watch a movie, toilet door was not matching the door frame, so you had to use some force to try to open or close the toilet door, which was noisy, so if one of you wanted to use the tolet night time, the noise would wake the other person up, water in the toliet, after flushing wasn't going down, it was taking a long time for the water to slowly go down. The next morning, noisy music from the kitchen area woke us up at 07:00 am. We went to the kitchen area to have some breakfast, which was very basic, one saussage, rice, and some watermelon pieces. We only saw one other couple staying in the hotel that night, which was confirmed by the staff. After breakfast we asked one of the staff to show us other rooms in the hotel as by that time we decided we didn't want to stay in that room which was given to us, but wanted to move to the room which we booked, the deluxe studio room. We were taken by one of the staff to see other rooms, and we instantly recognized the room which was on the picture when we were booking. We asked the staff we wanted to move to the room which we booked and paid for, as it was a larger room, had a large bathroom and a window in the room and in the bathroom. We showed her online the room which we booked and she recognized it was the room which we wanted to move to. She told us, that room was booked from the next day and the other room which was similar was being occupied. We told her also about the TV in our room which was not working, no TV reception, and no ventilation in the bathroom. She said she would call the owner as he was somewhere else and wouldl come back by 05:00pm. As we were passing the swimming pool, I thought to myself , I wouldn't want to swim here, as it looked dirty. We went to our room, waited for about 10 mins, then I went back to the kitchen area and I saw the staff talking to the owner by the phone. When I approached her, she handed me the phone over to talk to the owner, I then told the owner, very politely , we wanted to change to room for the one which we booked and paid for , his first reply was " I don't care what you have booked, that room was booked" yelling to me over the phone. I told him ," I didn't care either, that was the room we booked, you made the room available for us to book, we were happy with the standard of the room, after checking many others, and that's why we booked it, you have accepted the booking and now you need to provide us with the standard of the room that you advertised." He wasn't talking to me, he was yelling. He then started saying he never advertised on Agoda, but on booking.com, and Agoda was the site we made the booking through, then he started saying he could give us the room but only for one night, then we would hve to move to the other room and then to another again, so we would have to change rooms 3 times over the next 3 nights. We were on holidays to enjoy ourselves and not to be staying , wasting our time to change pack and unpack every day. As I was talking , he tried to interrupt me, not letting me finish, when I said to him "let me finish what I am saying", he disconnected the call. We then decided to move out, and look for another place to stay. The staff appologised to us, and admitted we were given the wrong room, but we knew , we were not prepared to waste our time, waiting for the owner to come back at 05:00 pm ( as it was only 10:00 am), we were on holidays trying to relax ourselves and not to be getting ourselves in arguments and stressing. We again checked this hotel's website and this deluxe studio room was still being advertised as available for those 3 nights that we booked it for, but couldn't have it , as it was booked by someone else, so he advertised the same room , knowing full well, it was booked and not available anymore Over the next few days we exchanged with the owner a few emails, he refused to refund our money and was coming up with some made up stories, which were contradicting what he said earlier. If you have any respect for yourself avoid this nasty place as much as you possibly can. Out of all the places we have stayed at , this was , by far, the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.

Reviewed By 573macsWe spent the night here at Balay on our way going to Ilocos. We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were cozy, spacious, and very clean. The whole place has an Ilokano vibe to it. My kids enjoyed staying at the garden. What I loved most was "Basi" - their restaurant located at the topmost floor which offered a relaxing ambience, nice view, and good food! Thank you Tita Remy for graciously hosting us. Very much recommended!

You pay what you get
Reviewed By MVPatootieI booked here on the morning of my travel so it was very short notice and good thing is that they have rooms available. The reception area is located at the second floor and I am not seeing any escalator and elevator during my stay, since I am a fit young lad it was not a problem for me, however for those with pwd I think it might be quite a challenge to stay here. The staff was very courteous and help me with direction and best ways on how to get to certain place. As mentioned, I went to La Union on a very short notice. The hotel is just near drugstore, food places and even attraction (Macho Temple). And few blocks from the hotel you may arrived with the night market, lots of good food choices for affordable food and local ones. The hotel is really cheap compared to any other hotels nearby based on my research for this sudden trip. The room definitely needs renovation, the TV is this very small box type kind, the aircon was just enough for the room even very cold during the night, however the heater on the bathroom is not working. Anyway, overall if given a chance that you do not have much option to a place to stay in LU, I think this is okay for what you pay for.
