Workers camp

Reviewed By Tallguy_11

This was quite a nice place to stay but now it is just an overpriced FIFO camp. The rooms are still good but we had to move work boots away from our door and share the restaurant with a buffet set up for the FIFO workers in their Hi Vis. It seems that this is another place taken over in Kalgoorlie where you have to share a nice dinner with work clothes, some very dirty at that. Having said all that, the guys and gals were no problems but don’t expect anything great from the hotel.

Sterile and lazy

Reviewed By SundayGrundle

Checked in here on a business trip. Hotel is sterile with zero character to it. Lazy staff that close the kitchen and bar areas early at night despite the receptionist telling me they were fully booked. Not worth the rip off price per night…and my company paid for it so there’s a little insight to how poor it was. I’m sure the Prendiville owners would like to get a little more out of their staff - like a pulse? Save yourself a trip and stay somewhere with a bit of atmosphere.

Very good motel just a short walk from the railway terminal in Kalgoorlie. The room no.17 faced tge railway line but was not not disturbed by train or car noise, plenty of room for 2 people, it included a kitchenette which was handy, the bed was very comfortable, the shower has room aplenty, only down was no internet, had to go to reception area for internet.

Nice place, does the job

Reviewed By 658patrickr

Cool historic building on the main drag of Kal. Exactly as advertised, decent room for the price, high ceilings. Depending on what night you visit, you might get some noise from the road, but what do you expect? The veranda bar was a really great place to sit and have a drink. We ate downstairs in the bar, big portions of good pub grub, just what we needed.

Old but comfortable

Reviewed By mre07948

Set youre expectations This is a working town so nearly all accommodation is made up of FIFO workers. As for here some of rooms are different as the one I had was a loft style with the bed up top. No issue unless you need to visit the loo regularly through out the night as you have creaky stairs to go up and down. Rooms are generally old but comfortable like myself and has a small kitchen. Like everywhere in town the restaurant are short staff so they do their best with the team they have. Location is ok with Woolworths in walking distance and the centre of town a good walk but more likley the drive is better.

Overall a pleasant stay

Reviewed By DebzWA

Overall we had a pleasant 3 night stay here in a studio. The accommodation was spacious and had most things we needed. The bed was comfy with nice linen and, as it was about 34c when we visited, the aircon was efficient. It was a quiet and modern system. There were a few small negatives, though. The lip between shower and bathroom was too shallow so we had a mini flood after showering, no matter how careful we were. There were no bedside lamps, although there is a switch near the bed to turn main light off. There was no wifi in the studio. On closer inspection on the small pint it said there was wifi in public areas but our cabin was next to the communal kitchen and it didn't show up in our list. There were also some passive aggressive notices in the kitchen area "dishes don't wash themselves" etc. A polite reminder would have sufficed.

Good value but dated motel

Reviewed By lz4ev

Location: a little far away from the town centre of Kalgoorlie but it doesn’t really matter if you have a car with you Rooms: overall the room was clean and well maintained. air conditioner is quite noisy but it didn’t disturb my sleep after a long and tiring day. water pressure at the bathroom is fine too. Breakfast: complimentary breakfast provided- with a range of hot and cold meals- pleasantly surprised that hot food was available. Overall a good value motel, would recommend this place for a no frills / short stay.

Good for our needs

Reviewed By MALLINPJ

I would really prefer to give 3.5 stars. Although the chalet we stayed in (#107) suited our purposes of playing golf all day there were a few thi ga that could be better. But first the good - the beds were great and the shower had great pressure and lots of hot water - so a big plus. It was also quiet although it was off season. As negatives: the chalet was cold at night and in the mornings (10 degree mornings) and the aircon seemed only to be for cooling. It also made a lot of noise. There was also no wifi. In all we would return.
