Most comfortable night in Iceland

We turned up on their doorstep without a booking and they let us in straight away - turns out we were their only guests for the night (being the middle of winter). The owners were super lovely and we chatted with them for quite a while. The whole place is very comfy and the shared bathroom is enormous. The location is quiet (like everywhere out this way), and has a really nice outlook. Plus, the breakfast was to die for! So good. For the price there's no way you can do any better.

Reviewed By Mark JWe loved the Cottages, its simple but cozy, you can cook some food, make some tea, and have a shower, its the perfect stop, if you are on the road :) You have to remember, it is a cottage, so its not super big.:)

Waited for an hour for 3 burgers, 2 chicken combos and 2 orders of breadsticks (only got one) Our entertainment was watching the next table being asked 3 times for their order. Once it was because their waitrss left in the middle of service and did not turn their order over to the kitchen. Best breadsticks ever! Good food, terrible service. Easily the worst restaurant in Iceland ever!

Rural and quiet choice
Reviewed By hanna718Pleasant, family-run guesthouse in a rural setting. Bedroom was large, with a TV and private bathroom. The bath included a hairdryer and in shower all-in- one toiletry. The bed on the harder side (so good for some) and the sheet/duvet cover was kind of scratchy, but otherwise comfortable. The on-site restaurant offered dinner with a decent variety (including vegetarian options). Breakfast was included, and was the typical continental spread (bread, cold meats and cheeses).

Friendly people, low quality
Reviewed By ToonVAThe off road guesthouse is runned by very friendly people and good for a sleep to travel further. The rooms are clean beside the dirty windows but look very dated. The number on the doors are in laminated plastic and for me shows the (non) effort to 2022 quality and standards. All the same old identical lamps, printed paintings, corroded handles, a very bendy matrass... But if you fancy the interior of your grandparents, you will not be let down. There is not a lot to eat nearby and we took the chance for the buffet late dinner. For 6200 Krn my hope for a good quality dinner was high. It was lamb and fish. Bad enough the quality was really low. The meat was nog good, not bad in comparisation to home cook students as myself. The fresh broccoli salade was the best but it was only a small cup for everyone and did not get refreshed. The lasagne was clearly warmed out of the freezer and full of water. To end on positive note, the creme brulee, not with fresh vanilla, was tasty. For 6000 krn in Iceland you get almost everywere a sex on the plate dinner with fresh materials. I hope the restaurant will invest in this kind of kitchen. Quality over quantity. This place is close to a nice canyon They offer some activities. They are very helpfull. For me this time will be the only time at this place

Spacious apartment
Reviewed By DavidK9914My wife and I stayed one night in Apartment 1. The apartment is spacious -- very large open area incorporates the living room, dining, and kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped. There is a TV with some free channels and wifi is fairly robust. The bedroom is reasonably large with a wardrobe and lots of windows. The bathroom is also quite spacious. The apartment must have been recently renovated. I believe the owners are slowly renovating the entire facility. It is on a quiet street, close to the swim center and harbor. We enjoyed our stay.
