Reviewed By jflynn236478We arrived very late at night. The front desk staff was very friendly. Room was super clean, cool and quiet. Hotel very convenient for sightseeing in Helen. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Helen.

The Heidi motel is located in down town and is one of the most Photographed building in Helen, GA and is one of the landmarks to the town and also are currently the only Motel in this area that you can actually stay in a windmill. We do not do a Breakfast due to the fact that we are across from Bettys country store and 2 buildings down from Hoffers Bakery which we recommend to all our guest to go for a great German breakfast and lunch. We have no pool due to the fact that we are so close to the river and that there are 2 water parks in town. We are American owned and operated and live on site. We work very hard to make your stay great and really appreciate your business. Thanks Chad Jackson

Reviewed By 766chiquitamThe hotel was nice and cozy. The staff was friendly and very inviting. We will definitely be staying there from now on. I loved that it was right in the middle of the main strip and we could walk to everything. The showers are also to die for. I wanted to bring it home.

Located on the Chattahoochee River. Picnic tables, BBQ grills. Free local calls. Our beautiful cabins sit along the Chattahoochee River. Everyone at desk was very nice . bed was comfortable , room was clean and nicely appointed . Would definitely return .they even had nice Paya bath products . My only complaint , no shelf or space in shower for soap and shampoo. Also , no hangers in closet for your jacket . And no lids for morning coffee in lobby .

Dishonest Manager!
Reviewed By joshhV7126PCI booked a stay (Friday, 4/29 through Sunday 5/1) and then had to change my arrangements. I canceled my reservation. Was charged for 4/29 - which was no problem. I spoke with the manager (Damin Byes) in person on Saturday, 4/30 and he told me that the charge for 4/29 would stay (no problem) - but that the rest of the stay would be refunded. After multiple calls (at least 5 times speaking with hotel employees) and it now being Monday, 5/23 I know that I will not be receiving that refund. Let me make it clear that I would not be leaving this review if the manager (Damin Byes) had not personally told me that I was going to be refunded for a portion of my reservation. He should not have told me that - when it is not apparent there is NO intention of a refund.

They were always so very kind and friendly, answering any questions I had with patience and a smile. The first time I stayed at this location was due to an unexpected death in our family. Shelley and Savannah went out of their way to make sure that our family was taken care of and even sent a sympathy card, sign by the staff members. Can't go wrong at this Holiday Inn Express - both times we felt right at home! Thank you so much, Shelley and Savannah!!

The location is amazing; close to the shops and parks in Helen but far enough away to experience the quiet of the countryside. The staff was very friendly and eager to make our stay enjoyable. If you are seeking a relaxing destination near interesting shops and challenging hiking trails, this is it.

Ruined Our Major Celebration Plans
Reviewed By connysmomDo not ever make plans to stay at Unicoi State Park & Lodge outside Helen, GA. My entire family made reservations months ago to go there as a group to celebrate my dad's upcoming 90th birthday. We rented 2 cabins and 2 lodge rooms. Made dinner reservations at a nice German place. Set to arrive there on June 16th. This morning, we got calls from Unicoi that they could not fulfill our reservations because the renovations on our building were not yet complete. All they could do was suggest other motels in town. Which as you can imagine, were mostly booked, especially when look for 4-5 rooms, including one that had to be accessible. Despite me telling them that this was for my father's 90th birthday, and that we had family coming from all over the country, they wouldn't do anything for us. I asked to speak with the General Manager. They said he was at a conference, and they'd let him know I called when he returned in a few days. No, if it's a conference, get in touch with him and have him call me now. I've gotten no call. When we made our reservations months ago, there was no indication of renovations that could potentially cancel our major event with a week's notice. We've now moved to Plan B, in another town. Which means trying to change one person's flight, and another person's transportation away from here. Plus find a new restaurant for the big birthday dinner. All needing to happen next week. And all resulting in increased costs for all of us. So bottom line, don't plan anything at Unicoi. Zero stars and a whole lot of aggravation.

Reviewed By Bowmanator22Great location, with free parking. It is on the opposite side of the main tourist areas, but there’s a sidewalk if you’re willing to walk a mile, which I am. I was not thrilled with the staff. While they were mostly helpful, a couple of the workers were a bit abrasive in their communication at times. I’ve stayed in a lot of Marriott brand hotels, and this one just wasn’t up to par in the service dept.
