However the breakfast was not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. For example, the scrambled egg was merely lukewarm and looked and tasted as though it had been made the day before. The bacon was covered in the white saline precipitation from its cooking; there was almost no honey, the lay-out seemed cramped - in short, the quality of the food, and the overall presentation, conveyed the impression that the hotel attached less importance to its breakfasts than other aspects of the establishment. In my opinion, the breakfast was was not as good as we have experienced in the Mercure Champ de Mars. We will certainly be happy to stay again, by which time it is hoped the breakfast experience will have been raised to the same standard as the rest of the Hotel. t

Reviewed By PatriciaS64Perfectly situated, overlooking the port of Fécamp, this is a good place for a one night break on a journey, or a longer holiday in an interesting and spectacular area - much loved by Monet. You can stroll along the promenade to watch passers-by and boats of all sizes coming in and going out of the harbour.

Reviewed By emachesneyMy husband and I spent two nights at Hotel de Bourgtherould in Rouen. It is the closest Marriott to the Normandy D-day beaches. It was perfect. First we met beautiful Camilla who welcomed us and showed us to our room. The hotel is a restored building that is modernized without losing its original charm. It is steps from everything you'd want to see in Rouen. So many choices for restaurants right outside the hotel. Day two we visited the D-day beaches. When we arrived back at the hotel the valet parking spots were all full. Benoit, who was working at reception, actually got into our car to show my husband the closest parking garage. That is above and beyond customer service! And while they were finding parking, Maxime stayed with me until they returned. So lovely. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. And having a couple of glasses of wine in the bar at the end of the day, listening to a pianist, was so pleasant. And above all, the housekeeping staff keep everything spotless. Congratulations to the manager of this hotel. Your staff make you look great.

Attractive modern hotel in the centre of old Rouen

It is modern and functional, but attractive and very comfortable, and the staff are lovely. You can park (extra cost but worth it) beneath the hotel, but you'll need to call them to access it as it's s bit complicated - you have to enter a code into a post to lower the bollard. Our room was very well set up, attractive and comfortable, with everything we needed. My wife was delighted by the bath and the presence of good mirrors. Breakfast was excellent - lots of choice of fresh produce, fruit, cheeses, meats, eggs, bacon, breaks, pastries, 2 kinds of coffee.

Not a four-star hotel- no air conditioning/Pas un hotel quatre etoiles- pas de climatisation
Reviewed By jhny77I should preface this review by saying that I'm not normally a complainer. Rooms were hellishly hot but didn't think that would be a problem because air-conditioning is advertised and it's a four-star hotel. However, the air-conditioning unit in our rooms didn't work and when I queried this with reception I was told that none of them work across the entire hotel (they didn't see this as a particular problem to apologise for, more a fact of life about which nothing could be done) and instead to open our window. This advice is terrible given that the windows hardly open and, being a seaside town, there are seagulls screaming from first light in any case. When I contacted the hotel to ask for a refund, they refused. I see they are still advertised as four-star (in fact, the rating expired in 2020) and they are still deceitfully advertising themselves as having air conditioning. I would therefore strongly advise avoiding this hotel, particularly in warmer months.

nice place for a short stay
Reviewed By SB3304+ for breakfast and dinner there is plenty of choice. dinner seems to have more variation then breakfast plenty of parking space around. nice and quiet location the fridge in our room was not working, they replaced it on day 2 very comfy bed large and well equipped bathroom in the junior suite the jacuzzi, hamam and pool area is great to relax if you didn't book supper in advance, make sure to reserve your spot! - cardboard cups in the bathroom to brush your teeth didn't seem to match with the overall impression drinks in ari's bar are a little on the expensive side and very sparce on alcohol the menu card for supper doesn't mention the price of the supper buffet anywhere

Surprisingly excellent hotel
Reviewed By mathow602905We used Balladins for the 1st time and as a last resort. We were surprised at the standard of the hotel, the spacious room and the much better varied food at the breakfast. We will be revisiting in the future.

Charming centrally placed hotel
Reviewed By Peter SWe were pleased to come back to this hotel after lockdown to find it has been improved . Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast is simply excellent, with top quality local products. We were diasppointed that the garage was not in use (lift problems) so had to park in the nearby public carpark at the Vieux Marché, but were able to drive up to the door first to drop off our bags. Do ask for the code to access the pedestrian centre before arriving !
