Dirty, Bad odor
Reviewed By anthonydrumgoole03My room was dirty so they moved to an room that had a terrible odor. They discounted me when they should have just refunded me. I asked for towels 10 times before someone finally delivered them. This was the worst .

Spring weekend stay
Reviewed By Luci SThe first night we found that neither the sink drain or the toilet were working These were fixed on day 2 but we didn’t get housekeeping at all even though I was specifically asked if I wanted it (and said yes). I had to empty the trash and get fresh towels myself. The rooms were noisy and sounds from the room above and hallway were very loud. Overall a mediocre stay given the price.

Disappointed with basement room at high price, and lack of standard amenities
Reviewed By DCrestaurantreviewerWhile the Boltwood Inn is in a good location in central Amherst, that is about all it has going for it. I paid a lot of money, and discovered I had been given one of the basement rooms. There were two tiny windows in the room, but I had to use the drapes to cover these windows at all times due to heavy foot traffic passing by (I could see people's feet above me from those windows). Fundamentally, I was paying the same price as others who were provided much nicer rooms, and I even heard one guest upon arrival ask for a room somewhere outside of the basement area. It was also a challenge to find my rooom upon my arrival, as there was a labyrinth of stairs and hallways to navigate. No one from the hotel assisted me in finding my room. Incredibly, my room did not have even a small refrigerator, so some food I had brought with me had to be discarded. The TV in the room was very old and almost impossible to figure out the channel settings -- I just gave up and used my laptop. All in all, a very unsatisfying experience, particularly for the price paid. Next time I am in Amherst, I will rent an airbnb.

Reviewed By Blue-Eyes-FamWe drove up from Georgia to Maine, staying at Hilton Operated Properties the whole way, and at $175 for the night (all fees and taxes included) it was the cheapest room price we encountered the whole way. I would not have expected that being in Massachusetts so that was a pleasant surprised. The room cleanliness, front desk service, and bed comfort were all up to the expectations for a Hilton Chain. There was a wedding in the Hotel that night so we were worried about the possibility of the revelers getting out of control but it didn't happen. The location adjacent to the Interstate was our primary priority but it's not the kind of place I'd ever want to be for "a vacation". But for traveling, you simply can't beat it.

Solid clean stay
Reviewed By Daphne418Very Clean room and saw and heard vacuuming in room/hallway. So definitely cleaning well in between guests. Quiet night despite being full hotel of wedding guests. Beds were a bit saggy and was hard to get comfortable. The linens could be replaced as one set of sheets was very pill-y. Also would not give 4 stars as the breakfast very on the cheap/processed side and ran out of coffee twice. And no one was actively servicing the area. Also the pool area was unkept with empty beer can from night before. Pool was very small so my big kids didnt want to bother. A solid stay despite a few negatives. At least it was clean!

Very poor management
Reviewed By RobL136Lisa Nai is the General manager. Don’t try to call her however - either she is never in, busy not available or won’t return calls or respond to emails. I had a billing problem. Room rates jumped very high when I extended my stay yet I was not informed of this increase. A token discount was given however as a diamond member and with such poor communication I feel more should be done to satisfy me. I stay over 100 nights a year in hotels, Hilton properties quite often until now. Response from Hilton directly and this hotel has been very poor, well zero. It appears that poor communication here is the general policy. I read the reviews and donor see any management reply’s. Oh well - Marriott has nice properties too. Other wise, clean hotel nice staff.
