Chateau Le Prieure

A Life Saver

Reviewed By Wineaway

We had pre booked a room at Domaine de Joureau arriving to find that the stairs up to the room were so steep they were dangerous, we were left with a dilemma of where else to stay. Chateau Le Prieure to the rescue! The hotel is wonderfully placed, a super view over the Loire river, in it’s own grounds with plenty of parking. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and our bathroom had a great bath! The staff were wonderful and extremely helpful, the breakfast buffet was first class - all homemade as one of the receptionists said. We will certainly return.

A stay to remember

We had a fabulous stay at La Cotiniere, one of the best chambres d'hotes we have stayed at in France. The room was well equipped, what we especially liked was the tuffeau stone wall and the 3 troglo caves behind the house! A real experience! We also liked the outside space, a large garden with comfortable garden furniture. Christophe is a great host, very warm and hospitable, very attentive to his guests' needs, always ready to give you advice.

Beautiful and peaceful lodges

Reviewed By KarolienR11

We spend 2 nights in a very nice lodge: the room was spacious and very nicely styled. All comfort was present and the rooms were very clean. Ideal for a digital detox as 4g is limited and no WiFi of Tv is available which only adds to the romantic atmosphere of this venue. The surroundings are great and with only a 20min drive to Saumur you can rejoin civilization at any time. The owners are very nice and outgoing, the breakfast delivered on your doorstep is a nice extra. Big chance we will go back in the future!

Comfortable

The rooms were small but clean and comfortable. We were able to use the pool and take aperitifs on the lawn before dinner. We were a little disappointed with the meal and the service was slow ( the hotel was fully booked!). We were able to secure our cycles overnight with confidence.

Delightful Hosts; Peaceful Location; Great Home Base for Loire Valley

Reviewed By Back_Alley_63

We spent a fantastic week in the Loire Valley in October, with Domaine de Joreau as our small group’s home base. Although the Trip Advisor photos provide a very good, accurate overview of the property, they can’t show just how beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming this place is to return to after a busy day of activities. The delightful hostess made everyone feel at home from the moment of our (very late) arrival to the moment of our departure (when she went out of her way to provide extra assistance to get our whole group to the train station). Throughout our stay, we were treated to delicious home-made meals and specialty baked goods in a relaxed, homestyle atmosphere. Our room was extremely spacious and nicely renovated. Most of all, we enjoyed our interactions with our hostess and her family as they served us during our time around the dining room table. While there are delightful restaurants in the region, we would HIGHLY encourage visitors to plan ahead to have some of their meals “at home”.

Manoir de Beauregard

Well situated overlooking the Loire river, Beauregard is an old manor XV-XVII. It is built with white limestone of the Loire Valley. Bed-rooms from which you can admire the panoramic views over the Loire, are very comfortable with elegant furniture, comfortable beds and white linen.Good breakfast is served on our lovely terrace in the summer and in a big dining-room with an old fire-place with fire, when the weather is wet. Around the manor there is a beautiful garden to explore; and a heated swimming pool with adjacent pool room with kitchenette and barbecue area.

Stunning spot in a fabulous Manoir

Friends and I stayed en route to the south of France. I only wish we had time to stay for more than one night. A great spot, beautifully restored by the hosts, Sue and Jez. Nothing was too much trouble and I would dearly love to return for a longer stay and explore the area - the Manoir is ideally situated and easy to find. Great breakfast too with homemade jams and yogurt. Highly recommend

L'Angeline
