Hands-down best B&B around

Absolutely the best place to stay in Franklin! Host is very courteous, rooms have WiFi and TV, private bathroom, breakfast is very good, and dining area is superb/historical. The best part is that there is both an upstairs wrap-around balcony and a downstairs large porch. You can't find it better. And it's right in the middle of downtown, you can walk to everything. Can't overstate how good the host is! Would stay again 10/10.

Ok

The main problem here is the owner. It was very difficult dealing with him. He is rude and obnoxious. I was travelling with my aunt who had a service dog fully licensed this proved to be beyond his comprehension. The girl who works in reception was very good, very helpful. She must have a difficult time sorting out problems caused by the owner. The rooms themselves were fine spacious clean and comfortable. The ac unit is high up on the wall you need to stand on a chair to reachh it. There was a lot of noise outside during the night

We tried to like it…,,

I wanted to like this place as my memories of Franklin were of a simpler time and I don’t need fancy hotels. (We used to stay in The Franklin before it was closed down). Booked through an online site, so that was easy enough and thought the price for 3 nights wasn’t too bad. Upon arrival we found the front door to the office locked., which seemed strange for 530p. There was a phone located on an exterior ledge with a request to call announcing our arrival. After a few minutes someone showed up to check us in. We were on the bottom floor, which now after having read additional reviews, we should have requested upstairs. The floors looked to have been recently replaced and the room actually looked pretty good (for a budget motel). I did not notice a musty smell that some other reviewers had commented on. Maybe the changing of the floors helped to resolve that issue. The mattresses were comfortable. The bathrooms still need some updating. The faucet handles in the tub for the hot and cold water were loose and turning the water off could be tricky, but the shower was very strong, so that was a plus. If this was the extent of our stay, I’m good. The main issue was the noise. It looked like some construction contractors were occupying some of the rooms above ours and the noise (moving of furniture (?) and heavy footsteps) went on through out the night. In noting some of the other reviews, it appears the motel may be used frequently by groups working in the area as some of the other concerns noted regarding 2nd floor noise was what we had experienced. We will likely look to stay elsewhere on our next trip to Franklin but I hope some improvements can be made to The Sapphire Inn to help preserve the small town personality of Franklin.

Wonderful Experience

Reviewed By CruiseFan15

We stayed 3 nights in the Cowee Moutain suite. The room and the screened porch were both very spacious. The bedroom had a comfortable King bed. The bathroom shower had plenty of room. The lodge is a very pretty property, but what makes it special is the manager Candy. Candy is so warm and friendly that we felt as though we were staying with a friend. She made a great breakfast each morning, which easily carried us through to a late lunch. The lodge is a little off the beaten path yet very convenient to restaurants. We highly recommend Cat Creek Lodge!
