Disappointed - Owner/Manager is LACKING good customer service skills
Reviewed By RonaldM185I have stayed at this location in 2020 & 2021. In 2022 there was a different manager and his customer service skills need to be greatly improved. After a 6 hour drive I arrived at 2:10 pm (parking lot had 2 vehicles) Check in not until 3 pm no exceptions! Asked to use the restroom and he told me I could go down the road to WalMart :( I had to leave to find a usable restroom. At check in his verbal delivery about sneaking a pet in or smoking in the room came across very intimidating with a loud emphasis on a $250.00 fine. Here is a solution - put policy in writing let me read and sign that I understand and thus eliminates the obnoxious verbal threat in the voice tone and delivery. I don't smoke. I did leave my pets at home and worried about "what if a dog hair traveled with me" since he had my cc info. Room and facility was clean & comfortable. Saturday morning a women was walking around the lobby/breakfast area in only a T-shirt no under garments sitting on furniture and I would think that leaving crotch cooties and butt DNA would be a bigger issue than a pet or smoking. Manager behind counter said nothing to her. Friday morning I had to tell the manager that the waffle batter had soured. This was quickly fixed when brought to his attention. The only time the manager politely greeted me was when I checked out Saturday morning and returned my room card but he gave me no paperwork and said since I used points we were finished. Very disappointed. Think I will stay elsewhere next time.

Horrible!!
Reviewed By Jean LThis was horrible! We checked in and checked right back out!! First we noticed how run down everything was, every surface was chipped or cracked. Then how dirty everything was from the floors to the walls, to the door handles, etc. Then how broken everything was! None of the outside doors latched so security would be very questionable. Then the pool was leaking and wasn't operational, the ice machine was torn apart and the pieces just laying beside it, the room's air conditioner was frozen over and not working. That's when we pulled the plug and checked out!!!! Ridiculous and please beware. This is not the place to stay!!

Reviewed By DeAnna VWe had reservations for the night at Days Inn up the street and upon arrival, we were informed that our dog was over the weight limit and our reservation would be cancelled. (I checked the website for weight restrictions and it wasn't put next to the pet friendly icon...I had to click another area to read the fine print). Upon contacting the manager at this hotel to see if they had any vacancies and allowed pets, he stated yes to both and said if we gave him 15 min we could check-in. It was only 1pm and since we have 2 dogs that was great. Upon arrival the manager was very friendly, the room was very clean and cozy, the hotel is nice and quiet and to top it off was cheaper than the Days Inn even with the pet fee. If we are ever staying in the quant town of El Dorado, we will absolutely stay here again.

Stardust is close to all the El Dorado "hotspots"-- Oklahoma Boy's Barbecue, El Dorado State Park and Lake, City parks (including the trail along the Walnut River), Dillon's supermarket, etc. If you're in the Wichita or Emporia, Stardust offers convenience (Exit 76 on Interstate-35) and friendly service, with clean and comfortable accommodations. Great Value
Reviewed By Julie ATraveling through KS and spent a night here. The location was easy access to the highway, but not on the hiwy so no noise from it. Also easy access to restaurants. I warned husband that it is an older motel so be prepared. Drove up and the outside didn't look old at all. Ken at the front desk was very accommodating with choosing a room with king or 2 queens, same price. All the rooms I think would be quiet but we had rooms in the back and it was very quiet. Rooms looked updated, they were clean. For the price I felt it was a bargain. You could see the wood piece in the room had seen some toe marks but all in all nothing felt old. We were traveling with 2 20# dogs. Next to the motel was an open lot for exercising them and taking care of business. I felt safe walking them, even at night. There is a fridge and micro in the room, no coffee maker but that's ok cuz we could grab a coffee later. Everyone was very pleasant and for the price I feel we got our money's worth. It isn't the Hilton, but I didn't want to pay the price of the Hilton. This was great value for us.
