Camping Le Perpetuum

Excellent late-season camping

Reviewed By Jeroenp30

Intended to stay for 1 week early September but stayed for 2. Site was ideal in every way. It was quite, pitches very generous in size. Camping benefits from 2 swimming pools, one heated, the other not. The on-site restaurant offered a varied menu at very reasonable prices. Location is great. Access to a Dordogne from the site, walking distance to the beautiful village of Domme and only 6km from the stunning market town of Sarlat. Facilities were clean and plentiful. Unlike other reviews stated, toilet paper is provided. We will be back!

Title says it all. Lunch with friends and dinner alone, sophisticated cooking served professionally in stylish surroundings. Slightly old-fashioned in the best possible way. Not cheap, but good value bearing in mind the location and quality of everything.

Village Vacances Les Ventoulines

An Unforgettable Stay!

Reviewed By Jansje S

Les Ventoulines gives you everything you want and need - a lovely cottage - ours was #25 and had ample space for the 5 of us with its 3 bedrooms (3 beds in the 2 rooms and 1 queen size bed in the 3rd one), 2 bathrooms, and a large open space with kitchen, living - and dining room. Big glass doors bring in lots of light and the gorgeous sunsets. Life is easy going at Les Ventoulines - facilitated by Olivier and his team who are always there to help you with a smile. Daily events are organized like walks through the woods or to the nearby town of Domme, canoeing on the nearby river La Dordogne, different tournements like ping pong, swimming, poney-rides etc. It allows children to quickly make friends...and it has easy access to the different prehistoric caves, troglodytes villages and fortified castles from the middle ages. We, 3 adults and 2 children, had a magical 2 weeks and will tell so to everyone.

A real treat and what a view

Reviewed By Nick G

A local work colleague suggested I stay at la Chambre de Madel. I was thoroughly delighted from the moment I arrived. Nicole made me very welcome indeed. My room was superbly appointed, and with a good quality bed! The food (velouté of fresh asparagus, blanquette de veau, and a sumptuous fresh strawberry dessert) that Jean-Pierre had prepared was exquisite (I don't know whether an evening meal is generally available but if it is you will not be disappointed). Breakfast certainly didn't disappoint either (yoghurt, fresh fruit, nuts, homemade jams, fruit juices (try the ginger and apple), and patisseries. And all of that, the room, the food and the warmest of welcomes is only topped off by the stunning 180 degree panoramic views of medieval Domme just across the valley. Stay here. It's terrific.

An idyllic location with wonderful hosts - we loved our stay here!

Reviewed By mytravelmonkey

As soon as we arrived Pam and Glyn made us feel very welcome - and brought us a cool drink and toys for the children to play with. We booked to stay one week in their gite, which occupies the ground floor of their beautiful property, that overlooks the stunning Domme countryside and rooftops. The outside terrace is perfect to while away balmy evenings watching the kids play in the fields, play area and pool which we had to ourselves throughout our stay, as well as the hot air balloons that sail past! Inside - there are two huge bedrooms with ensuites - perfect for our family of four, as well as a well-equipped kitchen. We had a few BBQs in the evenings and made use of the cool box which we filled for our days out by the river - do ask Pam and Glyn for their recommendations as they know the area really well and even told us of a secret 'beach' which we kept going back to. While the couple are on hand to help or provide anything you need, they also very much leave you to it, so we always felt very much on our own. Location-wise, it's a good 25 mins walk to the Domme - a stunning medieval French town with plenty of restuarant, as well as stunning views of the Dordogne River and valley below - but only a 5 mins drive. There is also a huge supermarket only 5 mins drive away, too. So even though you have a peaceful setting, you are also close to lots of amenities, attractions and shops. All in all, we loved our stay so much, we added an extra day! Having travelled all over the world, I rarely want to go back to the same place again, but I can safely guarantee we will be seeing Pam and Glyn again, and staying at Les Jonquilles.

Les Petits Cousins Du Quebec - Chambres D'hotes a Domme

A Jewel

Reviewed By FrSu

Les Petits Cousins du Quebec is a delightful place to stay . Daniel and Stehan made us feel right at home for the 7 days that we were there. When we left we felt like we were leaving family. Their hospitality was superb. We always had fresh delicacies each morning at breakfast; the room was very comfortable; and their knowledge of the area was incredible. Each day they helped us plan our visits and we loved each day trip. The drive from Domme was easy and Domme is well located for visiting all areas of the Dordogne. We highly recommend staying here.

Le Nouvel Hotel

Domme is a very nice place for a stay allowing trips in the Perigord and the Quercy region without long and tiring journeys. In the heart of this 13th Century Bastide (fortified town), a Middle Ages town in the Black Perigord, the Nouvel Hotel offers a view onto the Governor's House, the Covered Market Square and an exceptional panoramic view onto the close Dordogne Valley.

Cheap but clean worth using.

Reviewed By Bazzer131

A hotel that’s a bit dated, but it’s clean and for 42 euros for a double room cheap. The bed was good, clean, beds made each day, no complaints. Didn’t try the restaurant. There’s no parking with the hotel despite what it says here, there’s a car park in the center or on the small roads, found it difficult to find a park during the day but easy after 6 pm.
