An oasis in the city

If bungalow type accommodation suites you better than high rise, this is the place for you. The location is great, walking distance to many shops and restaurants and pubs (there's lots of those) The bed was super comfortable (even if the room was a tad small) but it was clean and serviced daily and the staff were friendly.

Not up to Hilton standard

Reviewed By Craigp0017

We stayed 4 nights at the end of our Kimberley Tour. I found the service pleasant but did feel they talk the talk but do not walk the walk, so to speak. A card on the bedside table states Hilton changes the bed linen after the third night unless you request differently. Our sheets were not changed in 4 nights. The notice stuck to the mirror espoused their COVID protocols and surface cleaning practices. Well, there was enough dust on the glass shelves in to write words in. The bathroom did not have an exhaust fan and the shower ceiling area had definitely seen better days-peeling paint, mould, etc. I shared the feedback at the desk and was "thanked for the feedback". I shared the feedback in the post stay questionnaire and survey-no response. I was not and am not expecting anything other than an acknowledgement, but they are simply not a 5 star facility charging 5 star rates.

Need more attention to floor cleaning!

Reviewed By nyalpi

A very good hotel in every aspect....except one! Good location, quiet street, 5 minutes walk to supermarket. Polite and efficient reception staff. Gave me a better price when my stay had to be extended. Comfortable room. Good size. Had top floor room, nice view of city and sea. Good to have a simple continental breakfast included in price. Simple Asian restaurant in the same space in the evening. Restaurant staff polite and friendly. But unfortunately, there were several hairs of other people in the bathroom and bedroom, easily visible! Yuck! Other cleaning seemed fine. Would give it 5/5 if not for this lack of attention to detail to floor cleaning!

Ok stay, slightly disappointing

Reviewed By Jaimee S

We stayed here last year around the same time for 10 days, we absolutely loved it and how staff and hotel made us feel welcome. We were only entitled to 1 cleaning service but had beyond this (approx 4) and was overall a great stay. Enough to want to stay again this time around. This time we were staying for 14 days. Check in time was prolonged as room wasn’t ready (these things happen). We were asked upon arrival what days best suit for room cleaning, we were happy with whatever and staff suggested Sunday’s as they were sort of in the middle of our stay, all good. It came to Sunday and no clean, thought maybe they were busy and waited until Monday and still nothing so we asked. We were advised they now only clean on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. So they offered to clean the next day. (Only ended up being one clean over the 14 days) We also noticed there were no quilts / blankets on the bed only one thin woven blanket, we found a second in the cupboard but was still quite thin. When we asked for a quilt/ additional blankets they said they have made changes and don’t have them (also a linen shortage) and could only offer a top sheet. While cooking a stir fry one night the steam must have set off the warning fire alarm and we were asked to stop cooking, which made us feel a bit like a burden. All in all, yes the room was nice and stay was okay, it definitely didn’t meet the standards of our last stay and we were disappointed this time around. A shame but will be trying somewhere else next time!

Super location in centre of Darwin

Great location in centre of Darwin, just steps to local cafes and shops. A short walk to the esplanade and views of Darwin harbour also about 15 mins to water front precinct. I’m glad I was not staying in hotels along the esplanade as these are a decent walk from the water front and town. The hotel was clean and tidy, king room was basic but comfortable. Pool is v small and no where to sit and relax, nice for a quick cool down. Staff welcoming and efficient

No quilts

Reviewed By BanditCaptain

at 509 dollars per night you'd expect this hotel especially being of the Rydges chain to supply quilts on beds. I have stayed at Mantras, Hilton, Double Tree, Quests and Accor group hotels throughout Darwin and this is the first time a quilt is not available for the bed. There are blankets in the cupboard in the room but that just doesn't cut the mustard for the price. you will just feel like you're sleeping on a rollaway bed with what linen is supplied

Save yourself and go elsewhere

Save yourself the chest infection from the moldy ass room they gave us or the moldy bathrooms, save yourself from being ignored and fobbed along when asking for CCTV of a theft on property, save yourself the sunburn from there being nowhere decent to relax. Constant sweltering heat and that's coming from an Australian who loves the sun. Good candidates to save you are Youth Shack or any cheap motel if in a group. You'd be better off camping in a caravan park.

Family break

The apartment was sensational. Very clean and comfortable with everything we needed for our 7 night stay. Located right alongside the swimming area and wave pool offering easy swimming for the whole family. There was complimentary 1ltr Milk with the tea and coffee plus beach towels for use. The apartment was perfectly suited with the inclusion of dishwasher, washing machine and dryer to suit our busy family. The balcony was wonderful which also offered a BBQ for use. The communication with the managers was easy and very responsive. The bonus for us was the free use of the vehicle. This added to our holiday the ability to see more around Darwin such as the many markets in the outer suburbs and return to Litchfield swimming holes. Thanks Katherine and Sue.
