Our hosts were amazing, nothing was too much trouble which made our stay over even more enjoyable. Would highly recommend taking the dinner option! Very clean, lovely bedroom and bathroom. Antiques everywhere. Breakfast was amazing, home made croissants 10/10. Very attentive Host serving great coffee and nothing was too much trouble. Even supply a car park permit.

Reviewed By Maggie JWe spent one night here, but would have loved to have stayed longer. The village of Cordes really is in the sky, and this hotel is incredibly high up. Our room had two huge windows and a balcony overlooking the amazing scenery far below. We sat out with a bottle of wine admiring the stars - then a crazy thunderstorm began and we were able to watch the lightning in the distance until we were forced to retire because of the rain. The weather was scorching hot, which added to the atmosphere. The logis is magical, a Medieval lodging beautifully and artfully done up by the owners (who apparently have just sold it and plan to take things easier from now on). Very friendly hosts, fascinating to chat to about the home they have so beautifully done up - and breakfast was a treat.

Reviewed By janet aWe arrived early but our room was ready and Somkid, one of the owners, was happy to check us in. I could not believe how perfect everything was. Room was very large and it seemed that every little thing in the room was chosen to complement other furnishings. It was immaculately clean and very comfortable. There was a terrace/garden out back that had an amazing view to the valley below. We didn't know what to expect going down the stairs to the breakfast room but, upon walking through the door, the area opened to a large area with breakfast room as well as other large sitting area decorated with so many things that it was a pleasure to just be there exploring. I think the building was built somewhere around the 13th century and structure is fascinating. Breakfast consisted of so many different items and was really good. Somkid was able to take so time to visit with us and he is so kind. Connecting with other people is one of the things that enriches one's life and makes travel so memorable and worthwhile. Thank you so much!

La Peyrecout is a beautiful farmhouse surrounded by hills and meadows. This old stone building was renovated in the respect of the local tradition but also possess many of the most recent accommodations such as a swimming-pool (11 x 6 m) that guarantees a comfortable stay in a quiet and relaxing countryside.We offer 2 spacious and independent cottages: Les Grivats and Les Soulieres (3 + 1 bedrooms), which are situated in a former stone barn, close to the swimming-pool. These two cottages are available from April to September depending on the weather. We also offer a third cottage, Les Rougemonts (2 bedrooms), situated in the farmhouse itself (available all year long). La Peyrecout is then a tremendous place to spend holidays as a couple, a family or among friends.
Relaxing break
Reviewed By Bryan LWe have enjoyed a wonderful two week break at this particularly good quality gite. We both have stressful jobs and wanted just a quiet, relaxing break where we were under no pressure at all. Peyrecout is run by a wonderful couple who obviously have great pride in their gite and B&B complex, based around a refurbished farm. Having spent the last 15 years experiencing gite holidays this must come towards the very top for standards, cleanliness, value, quality and helpfullness. The area is beautiful with many scenic drives. The local towns have to be seen, particularly Albi and Najac. We highly recommend Peyrecout to anyone considering a gite holiday. Reviewed By Ted GWhat a place, it is a 3 star hotel, with the price of a 3 star hotel but just happens to be in the 3 hectare estate of the Chateau De Laborde. For Chateau read small manor house rather than castle in this case. Also for most of the other guests Cordes seems to be a stop off on your way somewhere else, while we were using it as a base to explore the Tarn area. What that meant was on days that we just felt like having a quite day we pretty much had the gardens and the pool to ourselves. The manager and all the staff who worked there were really friendly and really went out of their way to be helpful. There is lots to do in the area, apart from Cordes itself there is Albi, there are lots of pretty hilltop villages to explore and there is a great castle in a town called Penne which they are in the process of rebuilding using the old medieval methods. All in all we had a fantastic week and I would recommend staying there to anyone.

Reviewed By AlbaonThis medieval themed restaurant is a great and affordable place to stay while visiting Cordes. You're offered a great setting with the opportunity to dress up as knights and maidens. The food is very good and at a good price, they will gladly offer vegan options if you ask ahead of time. The employees are very helpful and kind and are at your service during your stay. I haven't had the opportunity to stay the night but if the rooms are half as nice as the dining room is, I'd say go for it!

A very tired hotel in a fabulous location
Reviewed By el735The Raymond VII hotel is located in a building on the top of Cordes old town which, at least for some parts, is abt. 800 years old. Absolutely lovely brickwork, an enchanting courtyard, etc. Getting to the hotel by car is an adventure, leaving the old town, on a rainy day with soaked pavement and 20% slopes is madness. The room we had was quite large, lovely beamed ceiling and a stunning view over an unspoiled countryside. The two twin beds were good, firm matresses and nice linen. Fluffy towels in the bathroom. The gentleman who received us was friendly, in a scruffy way, helpful in explaining car parking and feeding places ( only 2 in October). On the minus side - carpets in the room you would not want to walk on barefoot and a very tired bathroom, with the exception of a new shower stall. Watch out, the hot water is scalding. In the bedroom no information whatsoever on hotel facilities and amenities or, for that matter, on what the town of Cordes might offer (a lot). It leaves the impression of a lovely under-loved facility which does not reach the potential it could have. Same goes for the town of Cordes with many buildings crumblng, shut-down hotels and restaurants and a general appearance of neglect. What a shame! Not worth the detour.

Aurifat is a lovely place to stay for a few days (we stayed a week) as the location is perfect for visiting the many stunning towns and villages in the area. Ari and Lucienne are really welcoming, help with local recommendations and make a generous and delicious breakfast everyday. Our room was beautiful and absolutely spotless - we enjoyed having a balcony and a huge window with a view over the countryside. The pool is also a plus especially if staying a few days.
