The hotel is well laid out with beautiful gardens for walking, there is obviously a plan to live up to the name ‘Hill Top Garden’. The staff were really helpful, and the restaurant served tasty food, mostly local but there were a couple of western dishes (fish & chips) which were very nice. There’s not much restaurant competition, except on the beach where we ate every lunch, having fish dishes. The rooms were small basic, but we spent our time on the veranda, so it was quite pleasant. The power is off all day (6pm-6am) which is a bit frustrating, but we were expecting this. While they say pet-friendly, several street dogs making this a bit challenging, but better than most ‘ pet-friendly’ hotels here. Definitely recommend this place, if you want to support community tourism.

Reviewed By chitsannmIt was a amazing trip with family at Golden Beach Hotel. Great service, good value and nice location. Pool and F&B service was amazing. They have electricity even on afternoon 1 pm-3:00 pm which is great for us. Definitely we will be back soon.

Reviewed By forsaken0606One of the best hotels in Chaung Thar. The interior is made of contemporary teak furniture. There is no discrimination (different) price between foreigners and locals. Everybody pays the same cost. Breakfast is abundant. Lovely. The minor downside is that they don't put the drink menu inside the rooms. If you want to order, you have to go to the restaurant bar / counter. Other than that, nothing else to complain. Would always choose Akariz Hotel over others whenever I go to Chaung Thar.

We were pleasantly surprised when we were upgraded from a room with no windows to a room with windows and a balcony, no added costs. 3. The service that Jeffrey and Tun Tun (managers of the hotel) offer is exceptional. They go above and beyond to make sure their guests are happy and comfortable. They recommend beaches/restaurants to visit during our stay. They even accommodated us with a Western style breakfast with a hint of traditional Myanmar food. Jeffrey and Tun Tun also helped us reach a beautiful beach that is about 45 minutes from the hotel, again at a very reasonable price. 4. The hotel is located near walking distance from the beach, several restaurants, and ATMS. There’s an Italian restaurant 2-4 minutes from the hotel (walking) that is a must try. The food that Magda makes is mouthwatering!! 5. Finally the hotel has RELIABLE and FAST WiFi. Even though Chaung Tha doesn’t have electricity during the day you can always count on the WiFi working. Regarding the electricity, Alliance Hotel is one of the handful of hotels that has electricity during the day (only for a couple of hours- this goes a long way). Thank you to Jeffrey, Tun Tun and the Alliance staff for making my stay in Chaung Tha incredibly memorable!

Rooms are wide enough to stay 3 persons and salute to housekeeping team to make the whole hotels clean and tidy. I would like to thank ko myo and many other staffs for this wonderful stay. Only One thing I would recommend is to have wifi all over the hotel not only in lobby and the other thing is perfect. Keep it up.

Amazing beach time, away from everything else
Reviewed By Akiko TThis hotel is for those who are looking for a beautiful and quiet beach time. You will be sleeping and waking up to the sound of the waves all day, everyday. The beach in front of the hotel has lots of local youngsters and families but if you walk a few minutes along the beach, you will find a beautiful beach all to yourself. This is one of the most beautiful beach in Chaung Tha area, no doubt about that. I enjoyed the beach immensely. Having said that, below is my review of the hotel. They are running the hotel with a very very limited number of stuff. We actually saw the same people checking us in at 5AM, then we saw them at breakfast, lunch, dinner and we saw them again at the breakfast next day. So please be very patient when ordering anything, it takes time. Their English is very limited and it takes extra time for them to serve you. The room is clean and very basic. No hot water shower and electricity only between 6PM to 6AM....and if you tune off the lights in the room, that also shuts down, except the TV outlet, so be clever when charging your phones and tablets. Breakfast was with very limited menu items but the omelet was nice. Menu at the restaurant is also limited and takes about 1 hr for any item to come out but tastes good. Grilled seafood was beautiful. Since the hotel is away from everything else, you will have no other choice for dining or anything else for that matter, unless you take the rental motor bike. So make sure to bring all you need with you, then I am sure you will enjoy the stay.
