Many books and games are available to everyone. Breakfast is free for children under 6 Baby cots are available free of charge (subject to availability).

Reviewed By dal06We have just returned from a four nights stay at the St George’s Hotel in Canet Plage. The location of the hotel is ideal. Just opposite the beach and within easy walking distance to the center, the port, the aquarium and all the restaurants and bars. This hotel has everything going for it with the exception of some tender loving care. Such a pity! We booked a room with a small terrace so imagine our disappointment when the door was opened and we found ourselves in a very dark and somber room. There was one curtain missing on a window which directly overlooks the pool giving all those on sun loungers full view into the bedroom. The terrace was dirty and in dire need of a good clean and a coat of paint. Upon complaining the staff very kindly offered us the option of changing rooms. Unfortunately the second room was accessed by a steep staircase which was not easy for someone with a hip problem. However, the room was light and the shower was impeccably clean. I could put up with the stairs with much difficulty and all would have been fine however ......... This room (303) had two windows. The first window had two sets of curtains. The heavy curtain was coming off the hooks. The second window had only one set, ie, no net curtains with the result that if we did not close the heavy curtains there was a direct view into the shower from the outside. The net curtains were found rolled up in a ball and stuffed in a drawer! When I complained about this I was assured that the matter would be immediately rectified. We left four days later without anyone even attempting to put the curtains back in place. There is a telephone in the room which did not work at all and this too was never fixed resulting in us having to use our portable to communicate with a staff member. The hotel kindly offers a tray with a kettle, tea and coffee. Only problem the wire for the kettle is not long enough to reach the plug and had to be placed on the floor when we wanted to use it. We don’t drink tea at all and replenishment of the sachets of coffee would have been welcome but this never happened despite a request to remove the tea and replace with coffee. The tv worked but the wires which could easily have been hidden behind it were left dangling down the wall. Most unsightly. We were a bit cold the first night and so removed the duvet from the cupboard and used it on the bed. The next day this same duvet was left on the bed without a cover. We find this highly unhygienic. Pets are allowed in the hotel so who knows what lay on the duvet before. Certain parts of the hotel obviously needed patching to the structure which was done but no care taken to paint over it. Full and dirty ashtrays were not cleaned once during our stay. Outdoor furniture rusty and dust covered. Staircase not vacuumed once during our stay. On one occasion we returned to our room at 3 in the afternoon and the room had not been made up and cleaned. Dirty coffee cups left u til our departure. Please see photographs. On the positive side: the staff were pleasant despite not being proactive. The breakfast was fine. This hotel is to be avoided. Sent from my iPad

The price is very keen and so we were aware that we were not checking into the Ritz but altogether would have no problem recommending this place because of its charming staff.

Our hotel welcomes you in a warm atmosphere. FULLY RENOVATED IN MAY 2014. Hotel in the heart of Canet-Plage, 100 meters from the beautiful beach, near to restaurants, bars, casino and shops. A comfortable room with a bed 160/200, air conditioning, free and unlimited Wifi connection, flat screen TV, small fridge, safe, private bathroom with walk-in shower, hairdryer and courtesy products. A heated swimming pool, next to which you can have lunch thanks to our free buffet. Bread and pastries are cooked on site.

Poor performance
Reviewed By Scenic39361393628The situation at breakfast was awful. There was no cutlery, no crockery, no juice glasses. Food items missing and generally an experience which was not acceptable. The staff were not fit for purpose and seemed incapable of dealing with the numbers present. The manager and receptionist were impolite, when I complained about the coffee I was served in the bar and on departure tried to charge me double for 2 coffees. There is a pleasant pool but no pool loungers. There was evidence of enforcing Covid 19 protocols.

Reviewed By CarpeDiemMTOur family of 4 stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. We had a family room with a double bed and 2 singles. We paid 80E a night at the end of September. The room and hotel are dated but very clean and very comfortable. It has an elevator for those of you whom that would be a must. My husband commented that it was the most comfortable bed he's slept in for a must. We had free, secure parking, air conditioning, 2 balconies, and were a 2 minute walk from the ocean. The breakfast was 6E for baguette, croissant, jelly, coffee, milk, juice, jam & butter, cereal & yogurt. The service was impeccable. The internet was easy and fast. We are pretty easy going so the things the other reviewers complained about (dated, scuffed walls, old carpet) isn't the type of thing to bother us. The only other thing I will say is that the lobby and hallways stink like cigarettes but thankfully our room did not. Family of 4? Not fussy? Definitely a go.

Perfect location
Reviewed By lillisan115We were a group of 56 people in 28 vintage cars. We stayed 5 nights and had breakfast and dinner there every day. The personel went out of their way to serve us, with big smiles. They were there early morning till late night and always friendly - cannot praise them enough. The dinners were delicious and varied every day. The only fly in the ointment: the breakfast buffet is really not good enough; only baguette, no toasted bread or bichottes, fruit salad out of a tin etc etc - it wouldn’t take much to upgrade this !

Convenient location to beach
Reviewed By 865stewandkazThis hotel was basic but good position for the beach and town. Lots of places to eat within five minutes. Room was comfortable and the air con was effective. Didn't eat at the hotel as there was so much local choice. We had a car but wasn't needed if you are just interested in a beach holiday.

Reviewed By 861stevenb555Where do I start? First gave us a room that looked out onto an unkempt funky yard(did give us a different room). Asked for hangers as there were 3 for three of us- we never did get them. Asked for a pillow on Sunday and got it on Wednesday. There were no sheets for the sofa bed which had a dirty mattress(friend slept on the floor). Went out for dinner and came back around 10 and the gate was locked and no security to let us in(they never gave us the code or told us what time they locked the entrance) . Front desk guy seemed annoyed that I asked for sheets. No lighting at night around the complex Pool freezing cold. No toilet paper in all three of the pool bathroom stalls. The area is a perfect location for day trips but found the place needed much improvement.
