I have stayed at a number of very good hotels over the years but none come close to Hotel Corsica for excellence with regards to service, friendliness, accommodation, facilities, food and just about everything I can think of. From the moment I first contacted Hotel Corsica to enquire about potentially staying there I was met with not only an efficient and quick response but also an extremely kind, personable, personal and helpful one. I knew from that very first email that we would be well looked after and that it stood out in comparison to other hotels I had contacted. It was extremely important for me to pick the right hotel as I was taking my mum who is in her 80s and, whilst extremely youthful, needed a relaxing and problem free holiday. I was assured by Inna (the absolutely fantastic and very lovely manager) that she and her team would personally make sure we had a lovely holiday and they most certainly went out of their way to make sure that we did. The hotel itself is stunning. Relatively small and intimate it is absolutely spotless and beautifully designed. It has an open, airy and elegant feel and we noted how all the staff consistently chip in, whatever their core role is, to keep it looking immaculate and support each other in maintaining the hotel they all seem to truly love working at. It is situated a few minutes drive from Calvi town but the hotel are extremely helpful and considerate of their guests and have a shuttle bus (with two absolutely delightful drivers) that will happily run you into the town or to the beach. We realised very quickly that this was a far better option than staying in the town as it was starting to get quite noisy and crowded in the town by the time we left and the hotels didn’t look anywhere near as nice as Hotel Corsica. Hotel Corsica is situated in the most beautiful spot with sea views from the hotel and incredible mountains all around the sunbathing area and pool. It was a beautiful tranquil setting completely befitting of a luxury spa hotel. The absolute crowning glory of Hotel Corsica is, however, it’s people. The staff were absolutely amazing. Each and every member of staff was absolutely delightful. As it is a relatively small hotel there is a correspondingly small team which means they all know each other and all get to know the guests personally too. It was clear that every single member of the team that we encountered had been briefed about my mum and my needs, they all went out of their way to accommodate and look after us. Each and everyone had absolutely lovely personalities and made us feel like we were more than just paying guests. They were personable and extremely friendly and actually contributed to a lot of the fun and laughs that we had on our holiday. Nothing was too much trouble for them and anything we asked for was actioned immediately. They were genuinely all really, really lovely people and this is a huge testament to both the excellent recruitment skills of both the manager Inna and owner Bruno and their fantastic rapport with their staff. We have never seen people work as hard or as long hours as Inna and Bruno did making sure that both their guests and their staff were truly happy. They deserve every bit of credit and success and we hope greatly to be able to go back and stay with Hotel Corsica again next year (if not sooner!)

Reviewed By TheodoreQDuckIt is hard to fault this hotel for anything. Rooms and amenities are very nice, clean, and quiet. Housekeeping was great. Reception was friendly and always helpful. Hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to most restaurants and bars. We would definitely stay here again.

But as soon you find a reception, everything runs really well. Liked the location, liked the beach, liked breakfast. Dinner seemed abit overpriced, but same price range in every place nearby...so maybe I am just poor:)

A well run establishment with a young professional, helpful and friendly team which is well guided. It was a pleasure to stay here.

Some good, much bad
Reviewed By Larry WWe stayed three nights. The hotel is located about seven minutes from the port and about ten minutes from the beach. Pictures on their website make it seem that the hotel is very close to the beach. The view of the sea is, consequently, somewhat in the distance. We were initially given an upgrade to a suite, but the room had no citadel view, and only a view of the sea obstructed by a wall. We had booked a sea and citadel view room because that is what we wanted after studying the room categories. We were moved to a room on the ground floor in front of the cold water pool, where our view was somewhat obstructed by the wall enclosing the pool. We accepted it, though. The room was sizable and nice, although not what I would call luxurious. There were enough outlets, but it needed more light. The shower was very good, as were towels, amenities, the bed, and bedding. Breakfast was in a lovely open area overlooking the sea. We were told there was a shuttle available and we used it to go to dinner one night and to the hotel’s beach site. There, we were led to lounge chairs. We had lunch there. When we were given the bill, we noticed a charge of €50 which, we were told, was for the lounge chairs. We objected, indicating that at no time had anyone told us that the hotel’s own beach area charged for this. Our waitress expressed surprise that we’d not been told. We spoke to the person at the front desk when we returned and registered our displeasure at the surprise charge. We were told that is their policy. We asked to speak to the manager, and I said I wanted to give the hotel an opportunity to remedy this situation before we got home and mentioned it to our travel agent and TripAdvisor. We ultimately requested to speak with the manager four times, and ran through our complaint with several people at the desk. When we got our bill, we noticed that the hotel also charged €18 for each shuttle ride. We had also never been told of this. We had a rental car which we’d been driving for the past ten days on Corsica, and would’ve opted for that had we known about the charge. Again, we were simply told that is what the hotel does. Suffice it to say, we never heard from the manager, and the charges for the chairs and the shuttle were never adjusted. All we got was front desk staff who seemed totally indifferent to our position that we are ok paying for whatever we have notice of, but decidedly not ok paying for surprise charges that, in fact, are customarily provided on a complimentary basis at all the finer hotels I have stayed in around the world. This was an unsatisfying end to our stay at this property and made us feel as though their attitude is we were lucky to be there. This is not hospitality. We would definitely not stay here again and would not recommend it.
