Comfortable Hotel, Great Pool, But a Bit Far From the Restaurants
Reviewed By ndserWe stayed in a double sea-view room on the top floor of Hotel Calina in Port Lligat for 1-night in mid-May (€146). The hotel has a resort vibe, fronting the harbour and arrayed in a 3-floor “U” around a huge pool & patio with plenty of loungers. Our room, with a view across the pool to the ocean, was airy & white, with double glass doors opening onto a large deck with chairs & a table and a pleasant view. The room was furnished with a king bed & side tables, desk & chair, large TV, mini-refrigerator, large closet with plenty of storage space and a safe. The bathroom had a tub/shower but, unfortunately, the very small glass screen did little to stop shower spray from soaking the room. Breakfast was disappointing – perhaps because the staff could not keep up with the demand from the largely French crowd – there were few fruit options and the warm food selections left much to be desired. And food was a bit of an issue here. The only options in Port Lligat are two beach bars that close in the late afternoon; for dinner, the only option was a long walk into Cadaques or driving through the sometimes confusing streets. In summary, Hotel Calina was a comfortable hotel with a great pool and a resort vibe, but be aware you will not be in Cadaques – you will be in Port Lligat, which has little to offer other than Dali's house and a tiny coarse-stone beach. We were happy with our 1-night stay, but for a longer visit, the hotel should consider a dinner option.

Reviewed By Bill SWe stayed at the Hotel Sol Ixent for two nights in June/22. We were not too sure what to expect for were pleasantly surprised. Beautiful grounds with a large pool with lounges surrounding it. Our room was not large but very nice. Very clean. The hotel is a relatively easy walk into Cadaques along the water passing many small coves. Just lovely! The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood a block from the water. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast each morning was top notch with everything you'd want. Excellent quality. Something to truly look forward to each day. This hotel is rated three stars but I would personally rate it much higher. At least a four star in my opinion. There is free parking as well which is very much appreciated in the coastal Costa Brava towns! Highly recommended!!

We arrived well ahead of schedule but our luggage was taken to our designated room with assurances that it would be ours within minutes and we saw one of the proprietors step in to speed the bedmaking. This simple, straightforward approach was reflected in the fresh white decoration and provision of good basic requirements for an overnight stay. Our room on the 1st floor had a balcony overlooking the port and daily bustle but was quiet enough to give us a good night's sleep in comfortable beds. The walk-in shower could be copied by many hotels that imagine they are superior. The sensible position of the wash basin, outside the toilet cabinet, was another practical solution to that often experienced morning ablutions delay. We have no hesitation in wishing this well led family a long and happy future while they offer such excellent accommodation by their hard work and attention to detail.

Charming place
Reviewed By TripadeeThis is a gorgeous place on a hillside overlooking Cadaques. Believe Google maps when it brings you into town and round the roundabout to go out again – it seems counter intuitive but is correct. My heart sank thinking we’d have to get taxis back and forth to town but in fact there is a short cut by foot. Spread out buildings with a pool and sun terrace and lots of terraced planting. Great views over town and the bay. Run by lovely charming friendly family. The rooms are kind of chalet style. They are very simply appointed and quite small but very well done and comfortable. Very good breakfast freshly cooked and served to you. I would definitely stay here again if returning to this gorgeous town. Ask for a room that does not have a room above – the people above us returned at 4am and the noise of them walking around their room really travelled down.

We have been renovating during this last winter two thousend then and eleven quite all of our rooms. Quite all rooms have been completely rebuilt and redecorated changing distributions, creating a complete new atmosphere in our brand new rooms. We have double rooms, rooms for three people, family rooms for four people and also communicating rooms for five to six people. We also offer a brand new Jacuzzi suite and junior suite. All rooms with Internet access Hotspot one hour free.With the beach in front and spectacular views to the village the hotel is well situated in town. The large garden with pool area, invites you also for lunch beside the pool from June to end of September. The hotel offers you two bars, a large open-air swimming pool with Jacuzzi, Hammam and hydrotherapy shower. Sport activities like basket, ping-pong, petanque, kayak rentals, mountain-bikes rentals, tennis-court (paddle size)are free of charge. The hotel offers also surveyed garage places. Hotel closed from middle December to middle February.

The rooms were large and had a good size balcony. Behind the building there is a beatiful garden with a pool Nothing more to wish for. Definetly a place we will return to.

Quiet classy beachside hotel
Reviewed By Ed MBeautiful location right by the sea, directly next to small beach, very nice views of Cadaqués bay and town. Modern minimalist style decor, light, plenty of outdoor seating and sun loungers on their terrace adjacent to the beach. Sea view Room was on the small side but comfortable with individual balcony. Very small road goes past the hotel is extremely quiet, absolutely no problem. Excellent breakfast. Wide range of sliced fresh fruits, cheeses, hams, various eggs, Catalan cakes, pastries and several types of fresh bread. Coffee was average from a machine. Staff were friendly and available. Dinner menu is light and limited, there is no full diner service - you need to head into centre of Cadaqués for a full dinner, lots of choice of restaurants and tapas bars but it is 10-15 mins walk away

The site is located close to the center of the village (5min walk) but is absolutely peaceful with great views of Cadaqués. Its japanish food restaurant is one of the best we have been: excellent food and service. Wether you are staying at Carpe Diem Cadaqués or not, you can’t leave Cadaqués without giving it a try.

Services Breakfast: There is nothing better than starting the day with a good breakfast, cooked with love. At the Tramuntana Hotel we offer you breakfast made with our favourite ingredients: local products, made in Cadaques and its surroundings, so you can experience our cuisine and local products first hand. Breakfast is a buffet (with the possibility of including a hot dish) and the price is 12,5€ per person. Breakfast is served from 8:30 to 10:30 am. You are sure to love it! Car Park:If you need to park, we have parking spaces available at aprox.18 € for day, the public car park is very near to the hotel. Common areas: To have a rest, have something before you leave, read your latest summer novel or just simply relax, the lounge is the perfect place for you to enjoy some peace and quiet. If you feel like getting a bit of fresh air, you can make yourself comfortable on our terrace.
