THE PERFECT FAMILY GETAWAY

Reviewed By timmyrose

We stayed here for a family double celebration for 3N/4D. The booking was swift for us, Ms. Arvee from the reservation answered all my inquiries and catered to our special request for the set-up of the twin boys birthday (it really made us feel extra special). CHECK-IN: fast and well coordinated. We are given welcome drinks and cold towels to freshen up. HOTEL: Garden paradise, it is well kept. (though, expect lots of nature loving creature around you since it is a very lush garden inspired resort). POOL: Warm water and very clean. With kiddie pool 2ft thne main pool of up to 4ft. There's a deep pool as well of 7ft. RESTAURANTS: Food is quite good, must try 5 Cheese Pizza and Mozzarella Sticks. Kuddos to the staff who always give in to my off-menu request like the Cherry Margarita and Calamansi Shake. Shout out to the best staff Mr. Michael who knows my favorite drink already =) ROOM: Big enough for the entire family, and mu kids aren't the average cuties =) SERVICE: Really good, all the staffs are friendly and are willing to help as much as they could, good job to Jas of front office and Jojo as well. who always ask us as how our day was. PROS; Great for a family getaway, they have a lot of services to offer. Sports like kayaking, table tennis, badminton and lots more. They also have in-house Spa you can enjoy after a tiring day on the island. CONS: Wi-fi mostly is weak around the resort, i think this is something they should work on. Mobile Network on limited on the resort, close to non inside the room in Deluxe area. Insects, expected since it is in a greeny lush area so please bring your insect repellants especially to those with little ones like us.

Little Hidden Haven in Coron!! Such a beautiful and clean place! Breakfast was amazing and staff were great! We were looking for a place to stay that was reasonably priced, close to town for our island hopping experience, clean, has a pool for kids and good breakfast! This place had it all! I only wish that their restaurant food had bigger servings. I don’t mind paying $$ but it has to be worth my money. Other than this, The Funny Lion is perfect! I will highly likely bring my family back!

Pros: 1. Exemplary frontdesk lady and doorman/bellhop (sorry I forgot their names). She was very welcoming upon receiving us, briefed us with the hotel policies and schedules (something most hotels neglect) and even asked us about our expected pick-up time. Also even if our tour is booked with a different travel agency, she still offered to lend us hotel towels. As for the doorman/bellhop, when asked about the restaurant we wanted to try he even offered to reserve us a tricycle and even told us that we could ask the same tricycle to pick us up after dinner. 2. We booked the panoramic suite and loved it so much that we wanted to ask about the architect and interior designer of the hotel. We had great views of the sea, a large private balcony, spacious sitting area/work station and a gorgeous bathroom. 3. The artistic touches of the hotel were fascinating. For example once you fill the tub with water, light reflects to the mother of pearl in-laid ceiling simulating sunlight reflecting off rippling water. A similar play of light can also be seen in the front desk giving it an under the sea vibe. We also loved the artpieces on display specially the ones made of abalone shells. 4. Breakfast buffet was varied and mostly good. 5. Location is excellent right in Coron town with several surrounding souvenir stores. It is about 10 minutes away by tricycle from Santino's and 15 minutes away by private vehicle from the jump-off point of island tours. Very minor negative observations that did not affect our stay: 1. Signs of wear, a few wall cracks and peeling pool tile surface colors. 2. Different colors of the window tint of our room and a few lime deposits on its surface.

Paolyn Houseboats Coron Island

These new Houseboats (we also have a private italo filipino houseboat restaurant) are the first in their kind in Philippines and they are located in a pristine lagoon in the limestone island of Coron: National Park, Marine Reserve and Unesco site (Coron Island is different from Coron town that is located in another island named Busuanga). You can choose one entire private houseboat for yourself with big indoor and outdoor private areas (the Glass Houseboat, the favorite from couple in honey moon and small families, or the Paolyn Houseboat Original) or you can choose just one room. Each room has now its own private internal bathroom with shower (all with hot water except the Mini Houseboat), private dining area, private outdoor relaxing area (with private sun-beds and sun-umbrella) with private ladder to enter the sea. We will pick you up at the Coron/Busuanga airport (or in Coron Town) and bring you to our Houseboats (30 minutes Van plus 15 minutes speedboat). Transfers are complimentary. No pollution, no traffic, no noise. Amazing scenery with breathless landscape with steep cliffs and Karst rock formations made of Permian Limestone of Jurassic origin, it offers superb snorkeling and it is totally quite except birds chirping and splashes of fish. Clean and clear water. It is the only place where to sleep and eat in all Coron Island. Free use of Kayaks, Standup Paddleboards and snorkeling gears. Unlimited drinking water and free WIFI. Totally Eco compatible, they do not discharge any waste in the sea and they are totally off the grid with 24h electricity and fresh water. Each room has multiple tower fans and some rooms have also the air conditioning (optional with a surcharge).

Overpriced, Ridiculous Booking Process

The food - Excellent. Right up there as some of the best available in The Philippines. The location - Excellent, but the mosquitos will get you in the evenings. The staff/service - Excellent. Everyone is so nice, friendly and accommodating. The room - Poor. Too cramped, I could not stand up in the shower or bathroom areas. I'm not a giant, I'm 6'1" Also very hot with not enough fans or effective air coolers. They want you to pay an extra 2,500pesos per night for aircon, which is a bloody joke considering how expensive this place is. The Tour - Very good, but expensive. Was charged for the tour, 10xentrance fees and 2x'fuel surcharge' fees. Entrance fees are not the fault of The Paolyn Boathouse of course, but leaves a bad taste in your mouth when it amounts to 3,700 pesos for a couple for 1xday tour. This is expensive considering its money for nothing. The fuel surcharge just feels like an excuse to pinch a bit more money off the guests. The Owner - Has done an excellent job of putting this place together and training his staff. However, he pays his staff 600pesos per day for an 18 hour shift. There are no scheduled rest days. Yes you read that right! They work 5am-11pm. We heard the same thing from 3 different members of staff. Don't believe the propaganda the owner pushes about how well his staff are paid. This would be true if he was hiring 2 people for an 18 hour shift. Given how verbose the owner is, I guarantee he will post an enormous floundering response to this review. The booking process - Terrible. The most difficult booking process I've encountered and I've been everywhere There is no simple automated method. You have to deal with the owner via WhatsApp for a long time going back and forth exchanging messages, when all you want to do is just pay. We were given 2 different foreign accounts to wire the money in to, (one in London and one in Belgium). This is off the Filipino radar and feels dodgy to me. Why wouldn't the owner prefer to automate the bookings? The Price - Too Expensive. I can understand why this place would be expensive. Its unique and the logistics of running this place is very time, labour and plant intensive. That said, this place still feels too expensive considering how much the owner pays his staff.

Busuanga Bay Lodge

Busuanga Bay Lodge, Palawan Resort is part of the integrated resort enclave in Busuanga, Coron, Palawan called Puerto del Sol. We are located in the southwestern part of Busuanga Island, in northern Palawan. You can easily escape from the pressures of city living by a 45-minute flight from key hubs like Manila, Cebu, and Davao - or by an even shorter flight from the provincial capital of Puerto Princesa. Busuanga is rich in biodiversity, and so the resort was envisioned to promote and support such a beautiful natural community. The Bermuda-inspired architecture and the name of our boutique getaway are from the developer's desire to initially create a fishing retreat. However, this activity is only one of many that Busuanga has to offer. Renewable energy and sustainable design are among the key thrusts in the development. Indeed, we have created an oasis in this semi-remote part of Busuanga Island in Palawan by ensuring that guests can enjoy all the modern conveniences onsite as well as have the easiest access to luxury adventures in the area's on-land and underwater attractions. Inside the resort, guests will be pampered with luxurious Spa Services and offered an extensive wine selection from the in-house Wine Cellar.

But above all mister Joaquin Daquila and Ms Nicha Salado are both absolutely great people : They understand the meaning of customers ; they smile all the time ; they care about everything. The director and the owner of this hotel should be proud and happy to have people like this in their team. They both desserve a quick promotion and salary increase. Regards Christian Robin .

We visited Coron last month for 5 days. "Herve", I believe the Hotel manage or owner was very helpful and patient with us in obtaining the S-Pass to enter Palawan. At the airport, I was told by several staff that the hotel was very nice. We were excited. As we arrived staff there were very cordial, offered cold drinks and a cool wet cloth to freshen up. Our deluxe room was on the 3rd floor, had a nice view of the sea on one side and the swimming pool on the other. The room had a refrigerator, a lot of closet space, safe and a great working AC. These were the things that mattered the most to me in a room. The restaurant on site was incredible. There was no need to really eat anywhere else. Everything we ordered we shared because all the dished were so good, not to mention the breakfast was included. The staff are the friendliest and possibly the best hosts I have been cared for. I would definitely come back and highly recommend staying at Corto del Mar.

Our family of 20 booked a full accommodation with tours from May 9 to 12,2017. We loved the hotel, the big two bedroom and the people are extra courteous and friendly. The only thing that we are.sad and alarmed about is bec 80% of us got sick. Right after our tour we got tummy ache and LBM. Were suspecting the food or drink they served us during the tour. Too bad, it was almost perfect if the hotel can only take control of.what the tour will serve to their respective guests. May this be a lesson to travelers. This is a.very serious matter. Until now.some.of us are.still suffering from it.

Beautiful resort with incredible staff

Reviewed By ozparvaiz

The resort is beautiful with 360 views of the water. The island tip and beach bungalow rooms have incredible views and are 50 feet from the beach. The beach staff offers complimentary paddle boarding, kayaking and snorkeling. The highlight of our stay was the ultimate island tour (our amazing tour guide was JR). We visited crystal clear lakes, ship wrecks, coral gardens and lagoons. JR also taught us how to shallow dive. Coron is like heaven on earth! The reception staff (Gaby and Dana) were friendly always helpful. The restaurant service (Jojei, Rommel, Nel, Donald and Ralf) were so good! And Chef Mike very kindly served all of our families needs including my gluten allergy. We’re grateful to the 2 seasons staff for giving our family a once in a lifetime experience!

Perfect Costumer Service

Reviewed By jblisbon

A few months ago we organised a trip to the Philippines this January and we included Coron for a 3 night stay. We booked La Natura resort via Booking.com for their great reviews. By December according to accepted policy the total amount was debited. In January after the eruption of lake Taal vulcano we were forced to cancel all the trip (Lovely Coron was not affected at all but other parts of the trip were). I contacted La Natura and asked about a possible refund. Their general manager offered to do a full refund in case our rooms would be resold. Today I got a message from La Natura general manager informing me they will give me my money back. The reputation of a business is all about the way you respect and take care of your costumers. You acted respectfully with kindness and honesty! Thank you so much and hope to see you soon! Kindest regards, Jose Bastos
