Reviewed By Jemmo70Where do you start? I tell you where. If you are anything like me and make the mistake of reading reviews a few days or even hours before you go, don’t believe them! We have visited many beautiful hotels across the world and this is no less than outstanding. It is awesome. We had a lake view room which from the moment you arrive through to departure is breath taking. You can’t take your eyes off it. The hotel itself is Grand. On the outside and on the inside too! Everywhere you look there is something of history and interest! When you book directly through the hotel they give you a pass for riding the funicular railway and also riding on the boats on the river. That saves you a fair bit and is a wonderful day out once you have studied and understood the timetable!! We went on the boat to Brienz 10 minutes away and walked along the front. A very nice walk which takes around an hour but the view is to die for! We then went down to Interlaken at the other end of the lake. That takes around 1 hour 15 to get down there. It’s ok but not as nice as Brienz. Back to the hotel. Room 215. Absolutely stunning. I am 6 foot 3 so struggle with beds with a footboard but trust me I was willing to put up with that! Clean and lovely room. The four course meal each night we had included, again through booking directly, was very nice. You have a set menu so if you don’t like being told what to eat you are best to choose from the Classic Menu. All very nice food. Things to be aware of are prices. Yes you are on holiday in Switzerland which to the UK is expensive anyway, but £16 for a gin and tonic! Or £8 for water at the table. £27 for a burger!Just be careful ? The pool! Now, people saying how filthy it was. Well we found it was being regularly cleaned with a pool cleaner and yes it’s not chlorine filled but it isn’t too dirty to swim. You can see the bottom. Take your swimmers and have a go. On our departure day we chose to climb to the top of the waterfall which is the most beautiful waterfall in itself. The climb took an hour. It’s very steep! If you don’t walk a lot, be careful in undertaking this task! The view is worth it but it’s very hard! Overall, would I choose to go again? Yes, to be honest I would never had left!❤️

Beautiful location, fabulous place for a holiday
Reviewed By Noelsaahil1995Nestled in a cute little village named Brienz , stands the resort Lindenhof by Crossworld AG. It is centrally located with easy accessibility to the major tourist attractions. It’s also close to the railway station making it quite convenient to travel. The icing on the cake is the resort itself. A marvellous location with a spectacular view of the lake, it has all the basic amenities at your disposal. We stayed in a family room with 2 seperate bedrooms which were quite spacious. The staff too was friendly and cooperative; especially the director, Aditya, who was a gracious host. He and the staff ensured that our stay there was relaxed and comfortable. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it to people travelling to Switzerland.

Great Hotel / Restaurant and (maybe) Cultural center for the town
Reviewed By David FWe checked in early and there was no problem here. The location is ideal in that it sits near the middle of the town of Brienz, close to the trains and lake front. It looks like a classic Swiss or Austrian "Zimmer". There was parking across the street and behind the facility. The owners were cordial and proper and showed us to our room which was amazing. Spacious, organized, tidy, clean (with clean lines) and VERY roomy. Everything is wood and the balcony (also spacious) was amazing. The roof covering the balcony is at an angle such that you can't see the entire view to the lake unless sitting down but then again the sun was out and very strong so this was OK. The bed and furniture was very comfortable. The next morning we ate a sumptuous served breakfast and maybe due to the low season there was another couple in the gorgeous dining room. The dining room also serves as the local bingo hall (called "lotto") which I discovered the previous night much to my surprise. All and all this was a fabulous hotel, centrally located, near public transport and the lake front. The facility was clean and VERY comfortable. The owners did not speak much English but we managed in broken German and English. This place was excellent.

Reviewed By 1059539521This is my first time writting a review cause I don’t want more visitors to be bothered by their bad service. Stuff are not friendly at all. Also, when you have breakfast, they watch you like you are prisoners. Even the view was good, this is not a place for you to enjoy your stay.

Reviewed By PaminmassMy Swiss grandfather used to take us to this beautiful little Tea Room in Brienz. Still as wonderful as I remembered it from years and years ago! Awesome views of Lake Brienz, charming, sleepy little town-make sure to take the old route to Brienz, if you take the relatively new tunnel on the other side of the lake, you'll miss this beautiful town and all the sights of this Swiss dream town. Lunch was delicious, served piping hot and fresh. They have a bakery inside the restaurant, don't miss sampling something!

Brienz lies at the upper end of the Lake of Brienz, surrounded by beautiful alpine scenery, which provides numerous, rewarding excursion destinations. A trip on Brienz's steam-driven Rothornbahn, with its magnificent views, is an adventure for young and old alike. Alternatively you can take in the same views on a ramble to the Axalp. Brienz is an ideal water-sports area in the summer. And if this is not enough for you, there's always a visit to the tourist museum in Unterseen, near Interlaken or a trip, high above, to the Jungfrau, the Niesen or any of the other beautiful mountains of the region.

Reviewed By PukkaSahibLet’s start with the good thing: top location on the shore of Lake Brienz. But compared to other youth hostels in Switzerland, this is easily the worst. At 43SFr a night a real rip-off. And a serious word of warning to all travellers just above average Swiss height: the dormitory beds are 180cm long, with wooden boards on either end. I’m 191cm and couldn’t fit at all. As the youth hostel was fully booked and couldn’t swap me to another bed without foot and headboards I preferred to find another place to stay, immediately after check in. The youth hostel staff and manager couldn’t give a toss and refused to refund me. No points for comfort and customer service for this youth hostel. But fortunately, the town of Brienz has other relatively cheap accommodation options that are much nicer.

Reviewed By RSB78We made an overnight stay. The Hotel is around 10-12 minutes walk from the station. A sister Hotel Weisses Kreuz is right next to the station. The location is very good. Overlooking the lake and the beach promenade. The in house restaurant is good. We were satisfied with the dinner as well as the breakfast, however limited choice for vegetarians. The staff was helpful. The room was of decent size, on the smaller side. We found the price to be very expensive, but I believe it would be the same for most hotels in Brienz. A reasonable option for a short stay.

Le camere sono spartane ma molto carine, considerando i prezzi in zona è stato davvero un'ottima occasione. Purtroppo siamo arrivati tardi quindi non abbiamo potuto cenare in nessuno dei ristoranti presenti, ma abbiamo utilizzato la cucina a disposizione. Tutto molto pulito, internet gratuito e proprietario molto gentile e disponibile.
