Hampton Inn Bellingham Airport

Hotel was close to WWU, Bellingham, and Fairhaven. Parking lot was well lit. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was a good size. Carpet had not been vacuumed as there were little pieces of things on the floor. Hair on the floor too. Bathroom door is the sliding barn door style that I do not like. Can hear every little sound and the light shines out of bathroom. No fan in bathroom so mirror gets steamy. Beds were comfortable. Lots of outlets/USB ports. Pool was warm. Hot tub was HOT!. Plenty of towels and seats. Wasn't cleaned overnight though. Stuff on the floor at closing (10pm) was still there at 8pm next day. In general, I would say hotel was clean though. Breakfast was self serve and hot. Plenty of options and well spread out. Staff kept it well stocked too. Price of the rooms were a little high. Especially when compared to surrounding hotels.

2/5 - don’t recommend.

I’m a Bellingham resident. My partner works for a healthcare company in Bellingham and they routinely use Oxford Suites for out of town applicant who are visiting. His parents were coming into town for a few weeks, and so I booked a room at this hotel for two nights to give them time with their son before I joined. I got a discounted rate through Expedia after finding it on Trip Advisor and ended up paying $370 for two nights. Being a Bellingham resident, I know that Mt. Baker is visible to the east. I emailed the hotel through Expedia’s app and asked if it wouldn’t be too much trouble, if I could have an east-facing room on a higher floor. The response I got back from the hotel was: “All our King rooms will be facing east which faces Meridian Ave, but more of a 'view' would be a west-facing room, which is like a tree view. If you're interested in that, I would recommend changing through your 3rd-party booking service to a 2QN room type, since many face the back of the hotel.” Okay? Not ideal. A few hours later I got a message from the hotel, stock, inviting me to explore my upgrade options. And wouldn’t you know it, there’s an option for a high floor for $20 extra. This isn’t Singapore, New York City, or Las Vegas. If they only accommodate those requests for a fee, I’m okay with that as long as it’s explained to me. Instead I got a message (through the Expedia app mind you) to “change through your 3rd party app” for a room with a “view.” I knew what I was requesting, and why. The hotel itself is nice and the staff were really friendly. Upon my arrival I was given a room on the 3rd floor (insult to injury). The room had everything you’d need for a stay. The furnishings in the lobby and the room were nice. There’s an oversized tub, stall shower, and separate water closet in the room’s bathroom. The water gets very hot and the AC gets very cold (which I love). The bathroom had some cleanliness issues: mainly different lengths and colors of hair in the bathtub, the walls of the shower, and under the sink. I was the only person in the room and I have very short light brown hair. The conditioner bottle in the shower had dried conditioner dripping down the front of it. The mattress was in dire need of replacement, and was sagging terribly in the middle. I woke up each morning quite sore. Lastly, the wifi was some of the worst I’ve experienced in a hotel since 2010. On my low floor I thought the signal would be fine, but streaming videos on my phone was almost impossible and required many additional log-in attempts since I would get booted. Overall, the hotel is fine. I’m not happy with the response I got from the hotel initially (I checked in during the week, by the way) and being placed on the third floor (when my car was one of the only vehicles in the parking lot). The cleanliness needs some work. And I also think it would be good for management to look at replacing some of the mattresses as I doubt mine was the only one in such a state. After staying there I’m pretty shocked that the hotel has gotten outstanding reviews on Trip Advisor. I’m not a difficult guy, and I normally never leave poor reviews, but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I won’t be recommending Oxford Suites to my clients and I don’t recommend it to you folks either.

Horrible service- worst hotel stay I have ever had. Will never stay again- Service staff didn't care about unruly guests or the fact that the people above us sent my husband to the hospital. Didn't care about the people doing drugs in the parking lot making it hard to open windows or go outside because of the strong smoke smell. The location is just not up to la quinta standards that I have come to know..Stay somewhere else if you are going to Bellingham.

Fairhaven is a cute historical district, and the fair haven in was absolutely charming! We were greeted with sangria happy hour by very friendly and helpful staff! We sat by the fireplace in the library and sipped wine before venturing out into the cute little town. Lots of boutiques and food options, bakeries and candy shops! The sunset is one we will never forget! The bed was super comfy. And you could not hear anything in the halls or rooms adjacent. Which is rare at hotels! We had a great nights sleep. After the first night we were already planning our trip back to this beautiful and wonderful inn! Highly recommend!!

Not really an Airport hotel

Reviewed By Janamal

Expected a little more. I chose this hotel as it was labeled an Airport hotel and had listed a free shuttle. Unfortunately, upon my arrival at 9:40 pm, I was told it was too late for the airport shuttle so needed to take a cab or Lyft. There aren’t that many flights into Bellingham, so was surprised they had stopped service. Fitness room had adequate equipment, but water dispenser didn’t work and no disinfectant wipes for the equipment. Bed was comfortable.

Horribly mistreated by staff

Reviewed By R4126LLkates

The staff including the front desk agent and the manager treated me and my guest horribly. We had come from a nice day out to check , which they allowed us to do, but them showed up at our door demanding we leave for being intoxicated. We did not do anything wrong, we had not been drinking at the hotel restaurant so for them to gauge intoxication from us simply checking in and heading to our room was distasteful to say the least. They yelled at us and threatened to call the police after we were already settled in our room and carrying on with what we thought would be a relaxing evening.

Great Hotel in Bellingham

Reviewed By Ken M

This is a great hotel in a very good location. The hotel is very clean, well-maintained and comfortable. From check-in through check-out the staff was friendly and service was great. Two Marriott brands share the same property. Springhill Suites and Town Place Suites. They share the lobby, pool, exercise room, and breakfast. When booking be sure you choose the brand you actually want as the rooms are quite different. Breakfast was surprisingly good and the staff managing breakfast were great. Pool and hot tub were good but crowded over the Memorial Day weekend. Really have no complaints at all and we'd stay here again on our next visit.

Happy Silver Anniversary - It's all about your people

Reviewed By Ayesha H

It's been a number of years since my last review of this hotel and like many, our yearly travel came to an abrupt halt due to Covid. Returning after a three years break, my husband and I were happy to find ourselves in a friendly and familiar place again. The decor was just as cheerful and welcoming as I remembered. I reminisced back to the days when we made our annual trip to the Bellingham soccer tournament as a family with three young kids. How time flies and now we found ourselves visiting as a couple catching our flight to Vegas but always enjoying an overnight stay. Over the years we have seen countless hotel staff came and gone, but there is this special lady who has been a constant. She served us breakfast year after year, and we came to look forward to her quiet and kind demeanor on every visit. I'm sure she can offer many tips and tricks about customer service, as she somehow always managed to ensure food trays were never empty, that they were served at a perfect temperature, and tables were kept cleaned. If you really had to run, she made sure there were 2go bags so you would not leave hungry. If you had a question, she would always politely help you with a smile. I would like to dedicate this review to this special lady and long term employeed. I sincerely hope that HI will take the time to recognize the greatest asset of the your hotel, it's all about your people! Happy 25th anniversary to the lady who always put a smile on our stay, we hope to see you for many more years to come:)
