Reviewed By 327bettyjYou arrive and then there are no lifts, and no one to help, so you have to carry your own heavy luggage up the stairs. The room is old-fashioned and needs updating. You have to strip the bed sheets and towels. And put them in the designated area. Is this a hostel or a hotel?! They do not allow check in before 2pm, so do not arrive before then. There is a list of "do's and don'ts" It felt like a boarding school. Not recommended.

Reviewed By M1090UFmarkwWe stayed 2 nights at the hotel to ski in Ax. A lovely, welcoming family run hotel which by the looks of it has recently been renovated. Our room for 5 people was very clean and just right for our needs. There is a lovely little bar and one can eat in the restaurant.

Great hotel - superb view
Reviewed By johnn798We stayed here a few years ago on the way to Andorra and really enjoyed the stay. Time to give it another go on a repeat trip and found it just as nice. Welcoming staff, good room and tasty breakfast. The town is an easy walk away and has plenty to offer. No parking on site but they do have some sort of arrangement with a local medical centre that seemed to work.

Shame about the breakfast
Reviewed By Harry AThis was the most expensive B+B we stayed in during our two weeks in the Pyrenees and the one with the least amount of effort put into the breakfast - only bread and jam with coffee. The village is in an excellent location with beautiful views and fantastic walking only a short distance away. The host was helpful and the room was fine - breakfast was the main issue.

It has been in the family for many years and the current owners have restored it to much of its former glory. If our room had been any larger my wife and I would have needed to communicate by telephone. Breakfast featured the best croissants I have had in France, period, full stop. An easy ride into town if you don't mind the curves. A pony and some goats add to the bucolic ambience.

As said by others before very friendly and helpful staff. Basic, but convenient accommodation which to be honest could do with a mid-life update. We’ve been coming for years and we’ll be back!

Relaxing Stay
Reviewed By SilvertravelsurferIn the middle of a tiring holiday around France using a Rail Pass my wife and I wanted to just relax for a few days in our own room to come and go as we pleased without having to worry about keys at reception and cleaning services. So we booked an apartment here for 4 nights and indulged in an apartment for 4 for just the 2 of us. The apartment was almost ideal for our purpose - clean, comfortable and with the convenience of a kitchenette. As an apartment for 4 there was a separate double bedroom. This was the only negative aspect as it was very cramped and it was impossible to get round one side of the bed in order to make it. Also there was nowhere to put things like drinks and watches, clocks, glasses etc beside the bed. Nevertheless we has a very enjoyable stay here. Reception was pleasant on arrival, but we had to leave the key in a locked box as the reception was not open at 8.45 when we had to leave in order to catch our train. However, we would happily stay again if visiting Ax.

Reviewed By tjnich0llsthe reception was very poor and the manager was out to get very last penny from us, we had plastic sheets on the beds and a blanket that you would not let your dog sleep on, don't know when they were last washed.Had to ask and beg for towels so we could have a shower, Apartment very small with no heating on when we arrived Paid over £200.00 for two nights but left after one very uncomfortable night
