Memorable Stay Outside Avignon - Centrally located to all sites in Provence!!!

Rooms: Clean, spacious and quaint with a lot of character. Junior suite was spacious with a sitting area, an outdoor patio, and a huge bathroom. Well equipped with a comfortable king bed, large screen TV and coffee maker. Country-style room made you feel as if you really were staying in the countryside. Although the property was built in ~1850, it is extremely well maintained! Service: absolutely outstanding, friendly staff. Nighly turn down service, everyone was extremely courteous and pleasant. Received same day laundry service. Roman from the front desk was extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations. The owner of the property stopped by a few times to say hello during our stay and you can tell she and her husband (who runs the restaurant) take great pride in making sure their guests have a great experience. Restaurant: Highlight of our stay was in the restaurant, which is world-class, yet unpretentious. Outstanding breakfast buffet with an endless selection of hot and cold items. Enjoyed breakfast in the outside garden area with the birds singing. Lunch and dinner was a memorable experience - we are not experienced with French cuisine but the staff, particularly Julian guided us through some outstanding selections! The various Sommolier's helped us choose a number of local wines which topped off our experience. Location: Location is in a residential neighborhood. It was a fairly easy 20 minute drive to Avignon, once we figured out the roads. Other than some mall restaurants and fast food, not many dining options in the area otherwise. Having said all of this - the location put us within ~30 minutes of all the sites we visited in Provence.

A singing praise!

My wife and I decided to end our cycling trip to Provence at this hotel before taking the train up to Paris the morning after. We are very glad we did. We arrived early on the day of our arrival and decided to ask them to store our bags and bikes for the day while we hired a car and headed off to the beach, which the Mercure team gladly did. However they did so much more - their receptetion team was great and with Hamza in particular reccommending a fantastic beach to go to and provided other invaluable travel tips which made a day, which was expected to be just about killing time, into one of the most memorable of the whole holiday. For this we are extremely thankful. They even supplied us with beach towels for the day!! As a result of Hamza's advice we also were able to enjoy an evening of spring festivities in Arles before returning to the hotel late in the evening after a lovely dinner in a very festibe town. The hotel is brand new, very modern and their facilities, rooms and services are of the highest order. Breakfast was varied and excellent and we thouroughly enjoyed lounging by their beautiful swimming pool in the morning before we left. I travel often for work and regret to say that the sterilized existence of the Editions, Marriotts, Mandarins and Sofitels of this world is often the warm bed which awaits at the end of the workday. While generally excellent - whay they often lack is the personal touch, friendliness and excellent service which we enjoyed at this hotel. I will certainly be singing its praises (and Hamza's in particular) for a long time to come. Well done Team Mercure Avigno Gare TGV!

Lovely relaxing stay

Reviewed By DieWunderkids

This hotel was chosen by our holiday company Plant Rail and again they picked a gem. Perfect location, easy walking distance to all the sights. We had a small standard room and whilst some other reviews complain about the size, it is an old European building so space will be at a premium, however we were there to sleep and not to spend all our ti e there! Lovely breakfast and friendly staff. Only thing to be aware of is that the water pressure is not brilliant but the shower was useable. Again likely to be part of the fact we were on the 4th floor.

Add an excellent and informative host in Stefan, a welcome French breakfast in the hotel, located in a group of 300 yo terrace houses and you have a unique experience. We can only speak of our room, but very comfortable and very well restored. Is it all roses? No. No lift for the upper rooms (we specified ground floor) and room for our luggage was not totally convenient, but we had luggage for 6 weeks travel in a range of climates. Why not try something definitely, comfortably, conveniently different.

Straight off the autoroute and you are in a commercial zone that could be anywhere. What's nice about this gated hotel is that it has little touches of Provence in the outside seating areas, complete with water features. There was plenty of free parking on site, and though there is a surcharge to use the leisure facility (small swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room), it was great to have this option available to us after a long drive. The restaurant was closed during our stay (Covid times) but there seemed to be plenty of options in the area and 15 mins from Avignon. The rooms are motel-like and a bit like containers, so although we couldn't really hear noise from the road, we could hear the loud voices and TVs till 3am, though the hotel did their best to ask people to be quiet. All in all, if you are looking for somewhere just off the motorway, and don't mind the lack of character, then this place is fine. The staff were super friendly and helpful too.

Perfect stay! Location & great price!!

We have stayed at the mercure next door ~5 years ago & the rooms were so hot (in July..& they showed us 3 different rooms!) that we couldn’t sleep, so we thought we would try the Kyriad this time. Even though they have the same type “central” heat/ac, I was actually able to adjust the temp in my room. We stayed in Jan & sometimes hotels in Europe have the heat on full blast(too hot!) so I was happy to be able to have some control in order to sleep well. I also appreciated how new & super clean the room was. The mini bar had a few cold drinks for sale inside & the rest was open for your items (No freezer section). The coffee supplies were very adequate? The bathroom was spotless! Our room overlooked the square & with the windows closed, we could not hear a thing. The young lady & man working reception were very nice & their English was excellent. Best location & price that I could find for the amenities

Great hotel and Service

We stayed at the hotel for 1 night on the way down to the south of France. It's too bad that it was only for 1 night :-). Very new , nice and well maintained hotel. We were greeted to a nice room upgrade on our arrival. We had dinner at the restaurant which was good and my eldest son had room service which was equally good. It was too cold to enjoy the swimming pool. They have a nice indoor garage. It was a really nice stay and it will be for sure on my list for a future stay in the area.

Hotel is housed in a beautiful 16th century building and perfectly located to visit Avignon centre and main sites. The breakfast options could be better for the price charged. I had requested a queen size bed instead of twin beds. In reality however, both beds were simply pushed together to make a queen size which is not exactly what the guest had requested for.

Wonderful Service in Avignon, France

Reviewed By landong113

Salem and Mary welcomed us into the hotel with bright smiles. They were very accommodating to us and Salem spoke fluent English which put at ease after our day full of travel. They got us into our rooms quickly and they were amazingly clean. The beds our comfortable and have more than enough space for 2 people. The breakfast was fantastic and works for people who wake up early or late in the day. The service at the front desk was more than I could ask for, there was always someone willing to help. Overall the hotel is clean and the service is spectacular. It made my families trip to France less stressful for us. We are thankful to the people who helped us enjoy our trip!
