Albergue O Durminento

Great place to rest up!

Reviewed By barleydeb

We stayed here before starting our Camino de Santiago. We hadn’t booked but the owner was so welcoming and found us a couple of beds. We luckily didn’t have to wait for the showers as we arrived fairly late but I can imagine there would be a wait at common times. A small kitchen area with a coffee machine and vending machine. Comfy beds, nice sized room we were in, overall very happy.

Albergue Credencial

great apart from showers

Reviewed By Aoibheann C

One of the first albergue I encountered walking into sarria which looked decent, modern, clean so grabbed myself a bunk. check in was efficient and no problems. concerned that there was in one male and one female toilet between everyone, but must admit I wasn't stuck. Biggest issue was showers. The few hooks for your things were terribly high and I could barely reach and was worried where I could leave my dry clothes. Worse still, it was one of those showers where you have to keep your hand on the button at all times to maintain water flow. If I removed my hand at all the water would stop. Problematic when trying to lather up!! on a positive note, great, warm blankets and each bed had its own socket for charging phone etc x

Albergue de La Casona de Sarria

Located at the same exit of the Road of Santiago, to 200 mts. From the train station and 10 minutes from the bus station, an old typical Galician house, with stone walls and wooden structure, completely restored in 2015. Spacious common areas, large living room with fireplace and garden with porch . It has all the services for a comfortable stay. Our clients / friends always leave satisfied with their stay and the warmth of our house.

Just perfect…

I can't say enough about this albergue and the host Jose. Our group enjoyed our stay so much that we extended our camino an extra day so that we could stay another night. Thank you so much. Highly recommended!

Albergue San Lazaro has 35 places, divided into shared and private rooms. The facilities are spread over a ground floor, around an outdoor terrace with areas of sun and shade and a rustic room carved into the rock. It is a century-old house, which retains its magic and structure. Wood and stone are the main protagonists in an environment prepared for the rest of the pilgrims.

A really cozy little hostel with great friendly and helpful staff

Reviewed By David S

I spent a couple of nights here and opted to have my own room which was was clean, nicely decorated and considering it was a hostel, it felt quite luxurioius and was excellent value for money. Maria was incredibly helpful to me as I wanted to leave my motorcycle there for the week whilst I completed the Camino walk to Santiago. I was allowed to leave it in her garage completely safe and free of charge! Would recommend Aubergue San Lazaro 100%

Excellent little hostal at the beginning of the Sarria-Santiago portion of the Camino

We stayed here for 1 night, to begin our 113kms from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela. Pluses: 1. Literally on the Camino- the entrance path to the hostal is also the Camino! 2. Excellent price point for a private double ensuite 3. Clean, quiet, secure 4. Lots of outlets 5. Fast, free wifi 6. Right on the edge of Old Town, and near the river 7. Very friendly & helpful owner Minuses: None. If you don't want to stay in dorms or albergues, this an excellent option.

Casa Barbadelo

Acceptable. Lacking a little in service

Reviewed By Christine R

First of all, this place is in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful rural location in a very tiny village so this is pretty much the only game in town. Caters to pilgrims on the camino. Room was clean, bed was fine. Very basic but adequate. Lovely grounds but pool not open in April. The service was just ok. We had our bags transported and they were in the lobby, but they failed to mention that at check in. We had to go down and ask. Then it was “ oh..here they are.” They did offer to help bring them up to our room. Secondly, they said breakfast was at 7 which we thought was very early for Spain, but we didn’t argue. At 7, there is a lady with loaves of bread standing at the door, calling for someone to open up. No problem for us but we got up earlier than usual to get breakfast. Breakfast was your basic continental but fine for us. All in all, good for us since we didn’t want to walk any further on this stage.

Authentic and Atmospheric Albergue

Arriving in Sarria after having walked from St. Pied is no easy task when facing the crowd after weeks of almost solitude in comparison. Casa Don Albergue is a nice place, whereabouts you still Can feel that magic of pre-sarria Camino feeling. In a beautiful little garden you're able to enjoy the company of co-pilgrims, and the albergue has that size, whereabouts you're still able to feel a part of a family. Apart from that we had a nice room with four beds.

Mixed feelings

Beautiful building and great service but the other guests were noisy and inconsiderate: smashing the lockers' door and rummaging with the locks until well past 11pm. Hopefully it was not usual, but very negatively impacted the experience.
