Very accommodating staff in a nice space

I stayed in a 6 bed dorm my first couple nights but it was really noisy and curtains weren’t open until around midday so I felt I was tiptoeing around some annoyed guests. I asked to switch rooms and they found me one straight away, gave me new linen & a towel and it was so much better for my remaining few nights. The courtyard and living room were lovely and big. My only issue was it was pretty dirty throughout the hostel and showers were often blocked or didn’t work in the dorm en-suite so sometimes I was having to go up and down the building trying to find a free working bathroom. The hot tap also fell off in my hand once. I reckon this is down to it being such an old building so not totally their fault. Overall happy with my stay at the nunnery

All about the looks

Reviewed By ollyc2019

Whoever was responsible for designing this hotel should be forced to try living in it for a few days. Ultra- cool looks don't really compensate for the lack of basic necessities, like a comfortable chair anywhere in the building, somewhere to hang your towel or a toilet brush! Basically, it's a cheap copy of CitizenM, but here the lighting in the bedroom is either blazing or dim, and a lot of the cool design is just pointless, like having the lifts almost dark. It doesn't seem to work very well either; the staff are very bubbly and cherful, but on the first night they tried to come in my room three times without knocking : I never discovered why. After that they never came back to clean or to change the towels. Most annoyingly, I was charged twice for my stay, and it took five days to get a refund.
