Recently, we discovered the exceptional tucked-away restaurant - they specialise in all sorts odf potato dishes. Starting with soups, may main dishes (based in potatoes, of course) to desserts like - you guess - stuff such as potato cakes...If you happen to be in the area, consider dropping in, if you like potatoes. Anyway the old town area, where the restaurant is located is worth seeing it.

zwar leider nur am Abend geöffnet ist diese Gaststätte wohl ein Geheimtipp. Solche Speisen, hausgemacht, gute Portionen zu fairen Preisen und mit Liebe angerichtet jedoch ohne übertriebene Schnörkel, die sucht man heutzutage fast vergebens!Wir hoffen der Koch bleibt noch ein paar Jahre erhalten. Vor Ort alles schön sauber mit entsprechendem gemütlichem Landhausflair.Und die Bedienung war auch sehr nett und versteht Ihr Handwerk ebenso gut wie der Koch. Das Welfenzimmer -Great Food -Friendly staff-wonderful viewTwist on a german classic. I personally enjoyed the delightful food and relaxing ambiance of das welfenzimmer. we had a table on the terrace of the restaurant overlooking Blankenburg. Not only can I recommend the coffee with the view but if you fancy an alcoholic refresher definitely order the gin and tonic. They will hand you a refreshing twist to the classic cocktail. We had the Beef Roulade with golden fried potato dumpling fingers and the roulade was served with a deep and delicious red sauce. If you are unfamiliar with german cuisine the Schupfnudeln arenât actually from that region but actually more accustomed to southern german cooking. Either way the golden brown schupfnudeln matched perfectly with the sauce and roulade and created a dish definitely worth trying. Additionally we had the german classic of the Schnitzel. This was served with a baked potato and the unexpected side of creamed corn. In all my years of eating schnitzel (especially being half german) and knowing what goes well with a schnitzel never expected creamed corn. The Schnitzel was handled beautifully. The Pork was tender and the breading was crisp and flavorful. The sweetness of the creamed corn combined with the schnitzel is a pairing I will definitely try to recreate at home. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive and the place is dog friendly, so bring your four-legged friends if you happen to have one. Over all I can highly recommend das Welfenzimmer!I truly appreciate the positive review, as well as the time you have taken to write in such great detail. We are thrilled that you enjoyed our take on some of the classics. We try to stay true to the traditional taste and ingredients of our dishes but want to create a bit of twist that maybe unfamiliar, yet matching.It is a great compliment to our chef that his efforts are recognized and guests appreciate experiencing "common" dishes with a slightly fresh approach.We do hope to welcome you back again in the near futureKnuth Kiefer

They do not respect the schedules they put on their website. They do not respect the reservations made. Very bad attention, to offer us a simple soup. Night spoiled. And not a single apology. Never to return.

Seit Langem mal wieder zu Besuch gewesen, um alte Erinnerungen aufzufrischen. Allerdings waren wir dieses Mal sehr enttäuscht! Die Portionen schienen kleiner geworden, das Brot war zu weich und die Bedienung lieà uns für die Bestellung sehr lange warten, obwohl das Restaurant sehr leer war. Eigentlich alles untypisch ... Ich hoffe, es war nur ein schlechter Tag!?

Recommended by our host in a randomly selected AirBNB on our way back through the Harz, the St Hubertus did not disappoint. Excellent local food and drink, a friendly welcome from an attentive and knowledgeable restaurant manager. Don't expect to arrive much after 8pm for dinner!

Wir besuchten das Lokal nach einem Wanderausflug und waren bereits nach dem Betreten positiv überrascht. Von innen ist das Restaurant deutlich moderner eingerichtet und wirkt auch deutlich gröÃer als es von auÃen erscheint. Leider wurden wir nicht so sonderlich freundlich begrüÃt und auch weiter über den Abend nicht sehr freundlich bedient, was sie Speisen aber nicht schlechter gemacht hat. Die Männer bestellten sich riesige Schnitzelteller und wir Frauen belieÃen es bei einem kleinen Putenschnitzel, waren aber dennoch mehr als gesättigt. Die Portionen sind reichlich und es gibt noch Saisionale Zusatzangebote zur normalen Karte. Um den Tag ausklingen zu lassen hat es uns gefallen.

Nice little restaurant with outside seating area in the Blankenburg region. They grow their own fish and seem to be very experienced in preparing it, at least it tastes amazing. The menu doesn't offer many other choices though, so be aware of that. The service we had was quick and fun, which rounds up a great experience.

Da wollten wie gerne Essen gehen. Kam leider nicht zustande aus welchen Gründen auch immer. Nur ein Hinweisschild "Heute Ruhetag" und das an zwei Tagen an denen wie es probierten. Sehr schade
