Creperie La Caraque

Popped in here on the recommendation of where we were staying for the night. And we weren't disappointed. The galleries were delicious and so cheap. And of course we had to have a crepe to finish all washed down with some lovely cider. At 7pm we were the first customers of the evening but by the time we were leaving this little place was very busy and some tables had been reserved. Service was quick and staff were very nice and polite and spoke good English. We definitely recommend if in St Malo. Nice quiet area a bit of the tourist trail but close to the port.

Stumbled across this little restaurant on a Sunday evening. I was attracted by its unpretentious appearance and was not disappointed. I was their first customer but the place soon was packed (about 26 covers). Limited menu, good food and not too pricey by St Malo standards. I’ll be back!

Do you enjoy a good crepe? If so, you MUST come here. Perfect menu balancing salads and other conventional items with galettes and crepes to die-for. Highly recommended are the Campagnard galette and the Crepe Viking. The Viking contained poached apple, vanilla ice cream and calvados! Divine... Oh and try the Breton cidre brut. It’s especially good here

We had a wonderful dinner at this one star in St Malo. Amazing oyster starter, grilled brill, sweet savory langoustine ravioli, followed by lamb and spring veggies. Dessert of a multi layers of different chocolates was divine. Fabulous service, great wine list and innovative decor topped off this delightful dinner experience. A must go to.

Unless you are French do not bother. I have just left this restaurant that is full of excuses. No customer service. Very hot in temperature. We waited for over 2.5 hours in total. The lady in charge made up reasons and excuses for their inefficiency. It is apparently a big deal to serve 2 bowls of ice cream for kids. Over rated food. Not nice and slow staff. Disgusting attitude. Tried to make it my fault as wanted to ask my husband which desert he wanted so that warranted an extra hour of waiting. There are better places that are not b*tchy. Hugely disappointed!

Moderate prices, the beef with sauce was outstanding, the eel was an adventure in dining, the lobster risotto was very good. Staff was very nice and tolerated our attempts to speak French. One server was fluent in English and very helpful. Just a block from our hotel and so glad we discovered it.

There is a reason that this restaurant gets 98 percent excellent reviews. It is small and quiet with a casual and pleasant ambiance. The service is very good and provided with a smile. The menu is limited but of high quality. We ordered two different fish dishes. Both were great. The fish was fresh and the preparation was simple yet flavorful. The bread was fantastic as was the wine. Come see for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

We ate here twice while staying in Saint Suliac and each time we were impressed with the quality of food, service and friendly and helpful staff.Being British and very poor french speakers we did find that we were vastly out numbered but we were made to feel welcome and where possible staff help us to understand how it all works. What did help was a simple translation on the menu which changed slightly between our visits.Particularly enjoyed the fish dishes. It does get very busy, so if your in the area book in advance.

Quite busy so recommend booking. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, service was fine, it would appear typically French with little English spoken/understood. Food a bit disappointing overall, very average, and so wouldn't rush back as I think there's better restaurants a little further afield.

Deux Degres Ouest

Due to the reviews we expected a lot from this place. In retrospect we realize: some things were good, many things were not. Both appetizers were disappointing, the ravioli watery, the beetroots close to tasteless. Of two times calf one was massively tough. The pre-ordered dessert was sold out at the end. Conclusion: disappointing.Dear Francis, First of all thank you for your review. Your remarks imply an answer from us.The ravioli (which are 3) are not "watery". They came on plate with a celery water wich is a full part of the receipe. It's a shame that you didn't undersand that as it is written on the menu. The beetroot may not been your taste but how could be a beetroot tasteless ! It's marinated into red wine sauce and comes on plate with sour cream spum, smoked duckling breast, wild peppers mix and fines herbs ! Maybe the beetroot wasn't what you expected as you asked our waitress many times "what is a beetroot ?" ! I'm also really suprised about one the calf beeing "tough" as both of your pieces comes from the same animal. Nevertheless you didnt asked us for another one we would had been pleased to prepare again especially for you. Finally, again, we aplogogize that the chocolate dessert you pre-order wasnt avaiblable but I personnaly decided to don't serve it as it didn't meet the quality level that I impose on kitchens.
