We dined here on a Friday evening, table booked in advance, Food was of good standard, we both had scallops to start cooked perfectly with Filet of Julien and pork for main course, again cooked very well, the restaurant was very busy with seemingly many return customers which is always a good sign. There is also has a Cave next door as part of the business so the restaurant has a massive wine list for those who know their wines. Service was good with the head waiter being mildly eccentric but pleasant. Whilst not being my favourite place in Lorient I'd still comfortably recommend it as somewhere to spend an evening out for a good dining experience.

A little removed from Lorient city center, but there is a small garden in a quiet area which is very nice when the weather is nice. Very nice place

Lorient is a city with plenty of restaurants and where inhabitants love good food. The special place is "Le Poulpe". A popular and informal "bistrot" on the fishing port Main Street. It's open only for lunch and closed on week-ends. The chef is a former deputy chef of L'Arpège, the three-stars restaurant of Alain Passard, perhaps the best restaurant in France. Beautiful sea products cooked with a lot of style. And the price : fixed three courses menu for 14 euros, 2,60 for a glass of wine... A reservation is mandatory. One more thing : every Friday night, le Poulpe is open for a special 39⬠scallop and lobster menu. I haven't test yet, I betcha it's worth the trip!

Wonderful proprietor and staff, nothing was to much trouble for them. They catered for a vegetarian (not the easiest thing in France) and we had great food and a great time, thoroughly recommended.

Although not the prettiest street in Lorient, the minute you walk in the door of Le Tire Bouchon you are in a comfortable and relaxing place. The attention to detail is obvious and this is reflected in the food. Classically french, beautifully presented and tastes as good as it looks. It is a small restaurant (bijou I think is the word), maybe no more than 25 covers, but the tables are well spaced and offer privacy without loosing atmosphere. You can choose from set menus (â¬30 to â¬42) or á la carte and an the wine list offers an excellent range at reasonable prices. A great place for both small groups and couples and if you are looking for a romantic evening, then this is the place. You can expect to pay some â¬40 to â¬60 per head but I suggest that this is good value for this standard of food. Highly recommended.

Dinner was excellent. For our mains we had chicken and fish. Both were flavoursome and cooked to perfection, with a nice selection of vegetables. To start, we were given a complementary appetiser of sea-food mousse. Desserts were delicious. The house wines were good and inexpensive. Our 3-course dinner (4 courses with the appetiser) with house wines and coffee was â¬55 for two people. Le Victor Hugo seemed to be very popular with the locals.

This rather characterful restaurant is very close to the inner marina at Lorient. We were there during the Interceltique festival and the weather was very wet and windy. The staff were helpful and very cheerful despite the adverse conditions. We ate a nicely cooked and presented meal accompanied by the house wine at a very reasonable price .

Actuellement en panne de téléphone . Intervention free samedi à 18heures. Desolé du désagrément indépendant de notre volonté et comptant sur votre compréhension
We found this restaurant having visited Larmor Plage beach in Brittany. Very friendly staff, carefully decorated room and a pleasant terrace. My son had pizza reine which was generously topped with proper jambon sec and had a lovely crunchy edged base.My husband and I had the special of the day, white fish, (merlu), steamed to perfection and served with a delicate turmeric flavoured sauce, pilaff rice and a courgette and mushroom combo. Delicious. I had café gourmand to follow with three little taster portions of puds plus a small black coffee. Hubby just had coffee and my son ordered a dame blanche ice cream dessert which was too big for him to finish so we had to help him out, sadly... A glass of smooth red wine, a kir breton and a cola completed the meal and the bill was a very reasonable 58â¬

We were just off-season and were seated rapidly at table within feet of incoming tide so enjoyed that enormously. Food had its moments of real excellence and then did nosedive to bad-day-in-kitchen/market lacking in top level flavour. Would be good to go back when fish are there for the catching. Pure veggies could pick their way round the menu but this is a restaurant that uses veg for flavour and garnish and, frankly, is none the worse for that: it knows what it is. Wine prices were fair, choice needed more thought if looking to rival local Michelin starred place.

This was the first time we had dined at a Michelin starred restaurant and it was fabulous.... We chose the 63 euro menu, a kind of surf & turf experience and all the course were fresh, tasty, balanced (nothing over powering) and simply delicious. The wine list is extensive and prices not mind blowing... The service was floorless, which is amazing as we don't speak much french and the waiting staff don't speak much english, being spoken to in french added to the whole experience. The service is traditional, i.e the menu given to the female diner has not pricing on it.. a completely different experience. The room is quite bland, but the food & wine is so interesting we didn't really notice.
