We have been at this restaurant already a couple of times and we always had an enjoyable meal. The food is good, the dishes are made with fresh ingredients and they seemed to change based on the season! The service was very good with young waiters that helped out in the choice and in meeting our needs. There's a nice terrace outside where to eat in the summer which makes you feel in the nature! Charming village Auberge, just across the French border in the Canton Vaud. Very peaceful tranquil setting, the terrace is available during the summer months. We had filet de perche (different sauces available), with potatoes and a salad.The fish arrives on its own frying pan keeping the food hot. The menu is not extensive but enough to choose from. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Many locals were dining the evening we were there (mid-week), always a good sign. Plenty of parking opposite.Merci â

The view from the restaurant is fsntastic, the food is of very good quality. We recommend the meat; really delicious. Most of the staff were very nice and friendly, maybe one exception who still has to learn how to dress and behave but who cares

A quiet Monday, the crowds have not returned yet! We were presented with only the menu, well delivered by a smiling and professional waitress! A nice original entrée, lentils from a local farmer with speck, a choice of fish or meat aesthetically presented and very tasty followed by grilled peaches and mirabelles plums wit a scoop of blueberries ice cream! 2 bottles of sparkling water! â¬65.- for a full lunch for three!

Had a glass of Champagne (Louis Roederer) excellent, really good, didn't try and of the food though. Didn't find the stools to be particularly comfortable. They have a large selection of wines, many a enjoyable nights could be spent savouring all they have to offer.

This is a chalet style building situated half way up a mountain, possibly further. It is very atmospheric and seems to specialize in indoor bbq (raclette , fondues etc) with lots of cheese. We had a raclette and melted in front of it even in midwinter. For the price there was not a lot of beef and less vegetables for the raclette. The place is very atmospheric with strong aromas of charcoal , melting cheese and cooking beef. The staff were friendly speaking several languages

This place is exactly what you need for a decent, well-priced lunch in a French market town. Parking's a joy and we got a table easily despite the crowd of cars. The place is clean, nice and simply decorated, well lit and entirely functional with neat historical railway prints. The all-male staff on our visit were friendly, patient and efficient. The pate mousse starter was just right, the boeuf bourgignon was excellent, as was the tarte aux poires and coffee, washed down with a glass of house red. Not bad for â¬16.50 on a bright sunny day.It's taken me three years to discover La Gare in its latest incarnation, but we'll go again soon. We went there as a couple on a beautiful evening. The service was excellent, the menu quite limited but the food was excellent, nicely presented and tasty. The tables are on a platform in the street - so a little noisy. A little pricey though.

One of the few restaurants in Gex where you can eat outside. Nicely located, nice ambiance, good service. Price average or a bit above (normal for Gex). Large selection of crepes and similar. Very tasty. Will go again...

à cosy little restaurant with a unique menu (steak with herb/garlic sauce, French fries and salad). So nothing for vegetarian :-). But otherwise everything is nice, good, homemade (including desert) and not expensive. Mentioning also a very nice and attentive service. Highly recommended!
