I was very much looking forward to my visit to Gusto steakhouse based on the excellent reviews on tripadvisor. The steakhouse itself boasts a pleasant and relaxing environment, service was excellent and the young Chef was clearly loving his job - a sight for sore eyes! My partner and I both ordered the wagyu burger Kobe style. We were completed baffled however by how this went wrong... both our burgers were raw on the inside and charred on the outside, and the meat was not seasoned whatsoever. Flavors were derived from the mayonnaise and ketchup added to the burger. Same goes for the buns. A large slice of raw tomato and onion was included on the burger, but I personally prefer my onions sautéed before adding them as an ingredient, not cold. French fries on the side were actually very tasty.Dunno what happened, must have been bad luck that evening. But there is just no excuse for ruining excellent meat...

VALUTA est un petit restaurant bien sympathique à cheval sur la frontière franco-allemande (Saarland).Restaurant de spécialités et parfois à thèmesAucun problème de langue, le personnel est bilingue !Parking assuré devant lâétablissement ou dans la cour adjacente.Lâaccueil est très chaleureux et le personnel dynamique très à lâécoute (on peut modifier les plats à convenance)Propose des sujétions non cartées.Amuse-bouche : Bibeleskaes aux deux pains il faut connaitre cela : fromage blanc avec ciboulette et un peu de crèmeLa carte des vins est absente mais on peut être conseillé (bien) à la commande et le Côte de Provence du jour était de bonne facture.Nappes et serviettes en tissuRestaurant dâune très grande propreté, la salle de bar est séparée du restaurant.Décor moderne, blanc et très lumineux.Le marcassin en sauce et champignons de la forêt était juste cuit à point, encore un rien rosé mais super tendre. Légumes dâaccompagnement al dente comme je les aime !Cordon bleu : idemMention spéciale pour les pommes de terre rôties, sans doute les meilleures de la région (avec oignons et petits lardons).A recommander si vous passez en Moselle Est. We followed the recommendations and it was a good experience. Fast and Personal self-serving Service. Sitting outside very closed to the main court. The dishes were tasty. Fries a special flavour. The mayonaise and the ketchup beside were kalinski-style we had only there. The salad was ok. But the sourrounding and the options afterwards were closed to. So we could recommend too.

We were recommended by a work colleague to visit this restaurant and were not disappointed. The atmosphere, service, food and wine selection were all excellent. We were actually staying in France but made the short trip over the border; it was well worthwhile. The prawn / scallop kebabs were superb, the steak succulent and cooked to perfection and finally the crepes were delicious; freshly prepared at the table. Coupled with some fine beer, wine and a choice of many Grappe, we all enjoyed this evening. A must visit if in the area!

Going to a 3* Michelin restaurant, expectations are high. This review relates our personal experiences this particular evening 21 July 2015, which fell dramatically short of our expectations. When we parked the car outside the nearby hotel where we were going to stay, temperature showed 34 degrees. We figured that a place like this would have air conditioning and dressed quite formally. However, this evening the dinner was served in the garden for all guests, no choice given. Itâs a beautiful garden, but much of the magic of the service setting is lost. Our amuse-bouches were served in gazing sun that was still on the table, despite the parasols. After a few hours, the temperature was quite pleasant but it was really too hot to enjoy fully during the first part. Throughout the dinner we had to fight against a wasp and a few flies, also interested in our food.We went for the full degustation menu at 195 euro. However, none of the 8 dishes were up to the standard of the promising amuses-bouches and there were no more extra dishes until the final sucreries, also quite impressive. The total amount of food was quite right in the end. Each dish was the piece of art you expect, but the tasting sensations were never beyond quite good. The meat in main course, duck breast, was a real disappointment even though it seemed cooked to perfection. I had high expectations for the first dessert, Rhabarbermüsli, but I actually didn't realize I had it until the second one came. I thought the white fluffy stuff with some berries â with just a hint of rhubarb and no crunchiness, and much too similar to the second one â was just a bonus. Red berries were a theme and many of the dishes had a quite pronounced vinegar taste. We took the wine menu, without knowing its price, and it actually turned out be less than expected at 105 euros, with good and interesting wines, but no wows here either. In total you drank enough, but I found it irritating that several times I was served less than my companion and we both less than at the neighbouring table. The relatively young personnel didnât do any real errors, but lacked in the soft speak and finesse that you expect from a restaurant of this kind. I guess the whole evening was a big challenge for them, having to run the extra steps into the garden, and it showed in the broken rhythm of our meal. Maybe we were just unlucky this evening, but what should be characteristic for a 3 star is a consistent quality. I agree with another reviewer: one star and half the price would be appropriate.

Our 2nd visit and never a dissapontment, The staff speaks French and German well, with very friendly reception. All dishes were really then prepared class, seasoned, portioned and served! My favorite is the menu with the steak and duck liver,,,, SUPER. Thanks to the team, the "Auberge St. Jean", just a few minutes from Saarbrücken is also recommended due to its attractive price-performance.

Nous nous sommes rendus dans ce restaurant afin de découvrir la carte.Nous avons été agréablement surpris d'une part par le professionnalisme du patron... et d'autre part par le large choix que proposait la carte... le cadre a été refait avec goût. Les moules étaient excellentes et la viande cuisiné à la perfection. Je recommande vivement cet endroit afin que vous puissiez vous faire votre propre opinion.

When shopping in Forbach we came across this brasserie and had a lovely lunch there.Parking is readily available nearby and although the entry to the place seems more like a bit of a downtrodden pub, once inside the right side of the interior space is actually a surprisingly nicely decorated room with ample table seating and comfortable booth seating as well.The 3 course holiday menu was still on offer and for under 30 euros a person we had 3 well prepared courses. The duck breast was a large portion of well cooked breast with a blueberry sauce and delicious. The beef was tender and had a nice gravy as well and all the vegetables were perfectly prepared. This palce seems to draw a lot of local regular customers and is well worth the visit.

Our first meal was very late as we were delayed at Dover by customs and didn't seat until 22.00hrs, the hotel who were aware still laid on a meal, but to be honest we were past eating anyway.The following morning we had a lovely breakfast, Full English/continental, top marks. 9/10 thank you.

We had made a reservation thinking that this was "the place to go" near Saarbrücken.When we finally found the entrance of the restaurant we were not greeted very friendly.We ordered le menu "découvert" for 32 Euros. Wine very expensive.The first course "pressée de légumes" was good quality. Only vegetables but prepared by somebody who knows how to cook.The main course for my husband was chicken! Nothing special.For me fish, deep frozen filet de daurade covered with a sauce! We both had mashed potatoes from a package.The "clafoutis de Mirabelles" served with melted ice cream. It looked great but not very good when it is undercooked.Service was better for bigger tables!
