A little bit of the main drag and a bit daunting for tourists as you will need to 'muddle through' in your best Spanish, French or Catalan. But great simple food. Great simple service. And a decent bill to match good simple food to your wallet.Go there. But be brave and don't worry that you'll be the only English/French/German tourist. They will give you a memorable evening and they won't even think of ripping you off.

Always visit when we are down in Banyuls sur Mer.......never disappointed! Really nice sitting outside in the evening often with entertainment in the main square.

We have been to Xadic for several years - have to book in the high season. He is a committed and original chef and the food is distinctly "catalan". Lots of excellent seafood or meat dishes, all looking supremely edible and vibrant. The accompanying wines are chosen with care. A great place to have lunch or dinner.

We had the menu of the evening, three courses and and aperitif of the local sweet Banyuls wine. The food was alright, fish a bit dry. For starters I had the tapas selection that was nice. The waiter was nice and spoke good English.

Had lunch here on the strength of the Trip Advisor reviews, nice staff nice place under a tree on a v hot day. Food just ok, not what French food should be. Salad straight from the supermarket and frozen fish. Plenty of similar or better places in the square.

We came without reservation but the table for us was found immediately. It was charming evening the food was more than perfect and the wine suggestions very accurate. Food made and served with love thatâs all you need to fully enjoy your stay. We will be back!

Having had tapas in Spain only a couple of times and being disappointed, I thought we would try again. Choosing Riky's after reading the TA reviews, I was glad we did. The tapas were really tasty, freshly cooked (not the case in other places I have been) and generous portions.The waiter was so helpful I think he may be the owner. He spoke perfect English but politely indulged me with my orering in Spanish, I like to try! We were sat outside to enjoy the view but then the wind changed and it got chilly. He came out after a couple of minutes and invited us to take a window table inside. He really made us feel very welcome. Its about an hours drive but I look forward to returning when next in the area.

This is why we go to France. In the hope of finding a family-run unpretentiously excellent restaurant that serves locally sourced wonderful ingredients cooked with flair and served with charm. And it's on the beach! We found ourselves returning again and again to enjoy the changing daily menu, and to relax by the water. Great value for money too, thoroughly deserving our first unequivocal five-star recommendation on TripAdvisor. Thank you from Jenny and her family!
