A bit off the main thoroughfare but the food is genuine & the service is exceptional. After entering, we were quickly asked if we preferred smoking or non-smoking & to be truthful, it was rather smoky downstairs. We had a private room upstairs to ourselves, but were well attended to by our courteous waitress. The menu is not in English, but Google Translate did a pretty good job for us, when the restricted English of our waitress failed. We both chose the soup & Veal Cordon-Bleus for our meals & this was accompanied by a surprisingly pleasant Swiss Pinot Noir. The soup was full of flavour, thick & full of meat & vegetables (similar to a Minestrone) & could easily have been a meal on its own. The Veal when it arrived was huge, covering almost half the plate & accompanied by potato croquets (similar to Hash Browns), carrots, Swedes & beans. We could have managed with 1 Cordon-Bleu between the two of us, as they were so massive. Again, nicely cooked & full of Veal, ham & cheese. Needless to say, we did not need dessert & could only waddle back downstairs to pay the most reasonable bill. The most curious part of the experience, were the stuffed animals placed on various surfaces around the room, which seemed to watch you whilst you ate! Quite unique, although a bit on the weird side! Otherwise, a very enjoyable lunch & worth a visit.

the restaurant is in down town vitznau, lake lucerne. it's a very cozy place and the Food is very good, mainly traditionel swiss Food. the wine list is nice and the prices for wine and dine are very much affordable. the staff is very professional and very kind.

The Klewenalp is relatively good for easy skiing, nice trekking, mountain biking, or just to escape the fog down in the valley and enjoy blue skies and warmer temperatures in the Fall. We did the latter and looked for a nice and good place to eat. On Sundays for lunch might need to reserve a table if you want to eat outside (we were lucky to get the last one). In autumn they have a nice special menu with specialties such as deer and venison. It is well prepared with good attention to detail by the chef. The staff is also very nice, and there is a small playground with even a trampoline for the lil' ones. The only part to improve is speed: service (getting the food, settling the bill etc. takes longer than normal) - probably when it is busy they need more staff. No problem if you don't mind simply enjoying the place, but makes you nervous if you want to go after all the other nice activities of the Alp. Prices are bit on the steep side, but quality justifies.

The staff seems to be comprised of 1 professional and 3 students (possibly from a nearby hotel school) Eager to perform, following a learned procedure, rather than good old common sense. There is a world of difference to a seasoned hospitality pro or someone who is simply a hospitality talent and someone who is eager learn but still needs to follow instructions.I did not expect to write something about the staff, because we actually came for the food.The teasers, (greetings from the kitchen) were sensational and raised our expectations. What followed was very disappointing. The lobster bisque was too salty (which is often the case) and the salad with goat cheese was a large portion of not so fresh greens with chunks of goat cheese. The size of the portion was fortunate, because the main course consisted of two small slices of not very tender beef, more or less cold when it arrived. The main course was literally 4 bites of meat. For a hefty price tag of around 60 Swiss Francs.Dessert was fine, nothing spectacular but acceptable.Will not eat there again and will not recommend.Dear ItalianNomad, Thank you very much for your valuable feedback about your recent visit at the restaurant PRISMA. possibly the most innovative and creative chef in SwitzerlandOur stay and especially the dinner at Sens was nothing short of sensational (to say Jeroen Achtien and his Dutch team is possibly the most innovative and creative chef in Switzerland would be an understatement). If you havenât been yet, donât hesitate, GO! Thoughtful, attention to detail and exemplary hospitality. Bravo team Vitznauerhof and team Sens.. We shall return, guaranteed.

Beckenried was en route to our next destination so we thought we'd stop here for lunch. We knew it would be full but didn't expect this. We had to wait at least 45 minutes before we could order and even then we had to walk to them to tell them we were there, they hadn't even noticed us. I ordered a schnitzel which came with the wrong side (salad in stead of chips) and one of my other fellow travelers had to wait 10 minutes before her salad arrived even though the others had already had theirs. They brought us the wrong drinks and even put Fr. 20,00 too much on the bill. Overall sadly a terrible service experience even though the view was lovely.

The wonderful hosts Gabrielle and Daniel had created a great evening for our global company dinner. Food and wine were so delicious and the atmosphere was warm and familiar. The idea from Gabrielle with "only one bottle of wine" for 45 people was great - it was a 12 litre bottle of fantastic swiss red wine.Dear TinaIt was wonderful hosting your global event. We stopped for lunch in Lucerne on our way back from Italy in this lovely restaurant.We enjoyed the terrasse, had mushrooms noodles with cream. (I missed the cream in southern Italy). The mushroom were nice, fresh, crisp, the cream very tasty and the noodles perfect.
