Reviewed By Kim025SingaporeThe minsu looks exactly like the photographs shown in Tripadvisor and Caramel is such a cute adorable little dog. Our host was helpful with dinner's venue suggestion. He arranged his friendly brother to fetch us to the dinner venue in his Lexus (NT$250 each way). He also gave us the taxi driver's contact so that we could arranged to be fetched from Nangang station ( we arrived here from Chiayi HSR) to this minsu for NT$1500. The next morning, I took a morning walk along the River Annong even though it was drizzling. I saw some trees in autumn colour. This place would be good for cycling if the weather was fine. Breakfast was at 8.30 am and we had the Chinese style hot porridge with many types of delicious dishes. We asked for extra fried eggs as it was delicious. Finally the hostess served us the yummy coffee and some fruits. We also requested to see the hostess's folk art workshop as she is a very qualified teacher. She is very creative and artistic and that explains why her house is so well decorated. However our family of four adults stayed in the log cabin as the family rooms in the main house were booked. The log cabin would be more suitable for a couple or family with kids as the extra beds consist of mattresses on the floor. There is no heater or wifi in the log cabin and my husband felt cold as it was a rainy night at the end of December. It rained throughout our stay and it was quite troublesome to be carrying umbrellas and wearing our shoes whenever we had to go to the main house. I am sure that we would have a great experience here if we had stayed in the family room with two queen beds in the warm main house with wifi.

Reviewed By missheidihk民宿位於船帆石第一排，一進去房間就是無敵大海景，完全無遮擋，與訂房網站上的相片如出一轍，還附有小露台。入住的時候是夏天，氣溫高達三十幾度，中午時份開著冷氣，安坐房間欣賞美景不亦樂乎。 房間乾淨，床鋪舒適。唯一美中不足是有螞蟻，不過美景蓋過一切。 另外早餐味道不錯，值得一讚。 交通尚算便利，距離墾丁大街約5分鐘車程。附近有一間7-11，晚上肚餓也不怕。 墾丁民宿眾多，質素參差，這間性價的確比高，十分推薦！

Initially planned to go to Alishan alone but instead went there with my mother and she loved it so much. I live the relaxing atmosphere of the homestay, and how it gives you a sense of calmness once you stepped into the place. I love sitting over the garden and overlooking the view of the mountains especially during the sunset (haven't seen the sunrise because my mom and I were so relaxed we kept on sleeping in). We love the food served during breakfast so much that we didn't even realise that it was all vegetarian. The caretaker, being Filipina as well, explained that the owners are vegetarian which explaines the menu. Either way, it was so good and we have a very fulfilling meal before we set off to Alishan mountain for the sunrise. Another highlight of our stay were the fruit platter and tea that they would serve. My mother and I looked forward to it so much that before we left for Taiwan, my mither bought the same exact tea pot and cups as well as the Plum powder that goes so well with the fruits.and ever since then, she would have a fruit platter and tea each afternoon. The staffs are were all very hospitable and really took care of us. When my mother and I went to the nearby village to have a late lunch and we realised that there is no more bus going back to the hostel, we called the homestay and one of their staff ( I cant remember the name, a male staff) came with a car and drove us back to our homestay. Another staff, their caretaker, a Filipina having found out that were Filipinos as well were excited as she said Filipinos don't usually visit Alishan. So because if that she would always come and have a chat with my mom and I. And I dont know if it is deliberate but on our first night as I was taking a shower, I brought in my lavender body was. And when we came back the next day after spending the whole day at the Alishan Mountain, when my mom requested for the fruit platter and tea (she really lives it!), they served us with lavender tea together with the fruit platter. If it is deliberate, I love them even more as they take notes on these minute details. All in all it was the most therapeutic stay ever. If ever the covid situation is finished, I would love to come back to Alishan Lauya and stay longer (we only stayed for 3D2N). Hang in there Alishan Lauya Homestay!

Reviewed By Leslie-JiangRoom is clean. Price is equal. No TV here but has WIFI. A great place to experience traditional southern Fujian house. Escape from city noise n traffic. 乾淨的房間，價錢也很公道，建築非常有特色，值得來這邊住上一兩天，但是沒有提供備品以及電視，所以得注意自己要攜帶，有無線網路，也有公用冰箱，跟老闆事先溝通好，可以提早check in. 小缺點就只有十點得退房，所以沒辦法睡到自然醒

Peaceful w/ Friendly Owner
Reviewed By Luke LBeean is located in a village just north of Jincheng, the main town on the island. While there are much more picturesque villages to stay in, this village still had a few traditional homes, a couple small temples, a big banyan tree, and an old military bunker. Although not far from the main road, it was quite peaceful in the guesthouse and most of the time we just heard the wind and birds chirping. The home is traditional, Fujian style with a courtyard in the middle, with four bedrooms, a public bathroom, and a reception area that was also a living room. The courtyard and reception were both decorated tastefully and added to the peaceful atmosphere. The owner sent me a text message on the day of arrival. Although his English is extremely limited, he's very friendly. He picked us up from the Shuitou ferry terminal and drove us to the guesthouse at no extra charge. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, so he allowed us to drop off our bags and drove us to Jincheng. That night, we hung out with him and a couple of his friends in the reception/living room, drinking great Taiwanese tea and having snacks. One thing that was rather misleading is that there's no breakfast served here, so calling it a "B&B" wouldn't be accurate. We stayed in the family room which was a loft with a soft queen sized bed on the first floor, and a double bed on the second, which was laid on the floor like a futon. A ladder connected both floors. Unfortunately, there was absolutely no heating in the room, so at night we had to ask for extra blankets and my parents still felt a bit cold. The shower has excellent pressure and there's a lot of hot water. Bathroom and bedrooms were all quite clean.

Picture this ... you are surrounded by fireflies at night (seasonal thou) . When having the meals he prepared, one can feel his passion for cooking in every mouthful. He shares great cooking tips, interesting stories and creativity too. We all enjoyed the stay and his company -- THANKS 阿泽!!
