Top 10 Condos in Idaho, United States

April 18, 2023 Frederic Celentano

A mixture of forested mountains, alpine peaks, wildflower meadows, deep river canyons, and high plains deserts, Idaho is a paradise for golf, skiing, fly fishing, and river rafting. Boise, the capital, is the state's largest city and airline hub. North of Boise are golf, lake, and ski resorts from McCall in the south to Sandpoint and Coeur D'Alene in the north. East of Boise are the ski slopes of Ketchum and Sun Valley. East of Sun Valley are Craters of the Moon National Monument, Pocatello, Idaho Falls, and the small town of Island Park just across the border from Yellowstone National Park. Boise's Basque Museum and Cultural Center reflects having the largest Basque population in the U.S. Reflecting Idaho's diverse heritage, near the Idaho Historical Museum in Boise's Julia Davis Park is the Idaho Black History Museum's chronicle of the slave York who served the Lewis & Clark Expedition. After a family visit to the Peregrine Fund's World Center for Birds of Prey and an outdoor performance at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, the next stop after Boise is likely to be Payette Lake in McCall or Sun Valley and Ketchum. About 100 miles north of Boise, past Cascade Lake, McCall takes you to the shores of Payette Lake. Go golfing, fishing, hiking, biking, waterskiing, sailing, boating, or whitewater river rafting. Ski or snowshoe Brundage Mountain or Tamarack Resorts, as well as Ponderosa State Park in winter. Ice skate year-round at Manchester Ice & Event Centre. About 450 miles north of Boise, there are resort lakes near skiing and golf at Coeur d'Alene, Hayden Lake, and Sandpoint. Golf, tennis, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, rafting, and hunting are popular in Sun Valley and Ketchum. Sockeye salmon may no longer do much spawning in Redfish Lake, but the boating and mountain scenery in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area make the short trip north to Stanley worthwhile. When the snows come the whole family will head for the slopes of Soldier Mountain, Bald Mountain, Dollar Mountain, or the Sun Valley Resort. A tiny forested town of about 250 people, Island Park has a large reservoir with fishing and boating, as well as Henry's Fork of the Snake River for fly fishing. It's only 15 miles from Yellowstone as well.

The Elkhorn Resort

Elkhorn is located about two miles from down town Ketchum in the hills above Sun Valley Resort. We offer over In both winter and summer the views are expansive and lovely. All of our properties have access to swimming pools, hot tubs, and tennis at the Elkhorn Club House as well as the Harker Center. Many complexes have their own pool and or hot tub on site. Just three miles from the ski lifts on Bald Mountain, this is the area for the best deals in the winter months.

April is an iffy month. I was hoping to hike but instead the week I was there it snowed over a foot. Trails were closed but Bald Mountain was open a little longer. Ester and Alicia were awesome and took care of all our needs. I would go again but maybe in September. My daughter and I did find about 9 hot springs in the area between Stanley and Craters of the Moon. It was an awesome trip even though we did not get to hike.

The pictures on the website do not accurately describe the beautiful decor for these accommodations. The very comfortable and lovely place to stay. Beds were cozy. This apartment is far better then most high class hotels we have stayed in. We would definitely stay here again. Close to everything

Located about a mile from downtown McCall. Spacious 2 bedrooms with fully fully stocked kitchen. Washer and dryer in room. They have a pool and a hot tub that can fit about 4 to 5 people. Staff was friendly and let us stay a little bit after pool was supposed to be closed cause she was going to be there anyway. Smoking away from your room in designated areas only. They have a gym as well as a game room. We come every year for a family get together. Will be back soon.

WorldMark Cancelled our 3 Night Reservation the DAY OF!

Reviewed By luvlife75

Normally all my reviews are positive, but for this place I would give negative stars if I could. I booked this property on Feb 7th for my birthday week/wknd (April 6th-9th). I was contacted by WorldMark on 3/30 to let me know they would have construction going on in some of their units and I was only allowed 1 vehicle. The gentleman I spoke to at the front desk was kind and helped me with some questions I had regarding the condo. It seemed everything was good and they said they'd see us in a few days! We flew from San Diego, Ca to Spokane on 4/6...traveling all day. We got off the plane, grabbed our rental car and a bite to eat. We arrived in Couer d'alene around 6pm (it's an hour drive from Spokane airport). We went to the grocery store and stocked up on food/supplies for the 3 night stay at the 2 bedroom condo because they advised us that they were located in a remote area and the nearest stores/restaurants were about 30 minutes away. We got out of the grocery store at 7pm. I pulled up my email to get the address for GPS and saw that Expedia emailed me THAT afternoon while we were on the airplane to tell me Worldmark couldn't honor our reservation!! I was horrified! I immediately called WorldMark to find out what was going on. They advised me that they overbooked their condos and there was nothing they could do about it and to contact Expedia to get relocated. We sat in a rental car in the parking lot of a grocery store for 2 hours (and it was cold) while Expedia tried to find us something comparable. I had just spent $150 in groceries that were melting and going bad in my trunk and we were exhausted from traveling all day. How can someone cancel your 3 night reservation literally the day of arrival after traveling 1500 miles to get there!!? It was also Spring Break so everything was sold out and Expedia couldn't find us anything comparable. We ended up settling on a room for 1 night at La Quinta nearby so we could at least get out of our car, shower and get some sleep. They could not find anything that compared to what we had...a 2 bedroom condo on the lake. Expedia did end up finding us a 1 bedroom condo in the city of Couer d'alene for the other 2 nights where my adult son ended up sleeping on a pullout couch instead of having his own bedroom as planned (and booked months prior). As I mentioned...it was my bday trip and I had been so excited to stay at a place with lake views, so I was still really disappointed that didn't happen. I will NEVER book with WorldMark again. They should be ashamed of what they did. Extremely poor business practices. I highly recommend you don't book with them just in case your entire trip gets ruined by them overbooking. It sounds like that's been happening a lot lately per my conversation with the front desk that night. And lastly, I would like to say that NO ONE from management at Worldmark reached out to apologize or try and compensate us for their blunder. They honestly just don't care.

A great place to stay

Pennay’s at River Run is truly one of the well managed lodging I have stayed at. Our unit 14 was modern, well furnished, and clean. Cheri and the staff keep the grounds maintained, and are always available for questions or concerns. Trash and towel swap out every other day was a nice touch. The sleigh ride back from skiing was a welcome bonus.

Our family had a little winter getaway in the lake front cabin, we couldn’t be happier with our stay. Views of the lake are spectacular. House is equipped with everything you need for your stay. Plenty of board games for kids for game night. Plenty of space to run around and rest. Drew always checked in on us asking if we needed anything extra. Sean at the restaurant was so pleasant and took great care of us. I can’t wait to be back here during the summer. Would recommend to anyone for a 5 star getaway. Luxury to the fullest.

They are on the bike path about two or three blocks from the lifts and are about six blocks from the center of Ketchum. You can walk or skate the bike path to the River Run day lodge or to a nearby "secret" trail that allows you to ski down to the lifts from about a half block away. You enjoy an enchanting Sun Valley ski vacation when you choose River Ridge. The area offers a free shuttle that stops about 2-3 blocks away that will transport you to both ski lifts on Bald Mountain, down town Ketchum, or the Sun Valley and Elkhorn resorts.

Well-appointed kitchen with absolutely everything needed to cook your own meals, including a BBQ. Great pet-walking areas immediately accessible, on- or off- leash depending on your pet.

Good location, facilities just average

We got into our unit A4 as part of a timeshare exchange. Keep in mind we went during the summer The pros Great location, close to everything downtown Kitchen was adequately stocked Had your own garage which would be nice in the winter Nice washer and dryer, although you share that with another unit Negatives The rooms seemed a bit dated, but we could live with that It was in the 90s the whole week we were there, and the unit only has one air conditioner in the master bedroom. It just could not pump out enough air to keep the rest of the unit cool. Only one of the 3 tvs (we had a 2 bedroom unit) worked As I said, it average, definitely not up to the quality of newer timeshares out there. In ski season, you might feel differently about it
