Cozy Tranquility

What a pleasant surprise. Rooms were very clean, water pressure great, and view was peaceful. Read reviews about being close to the highway but noise is barely heard inside: however, I spent an hour or two outside listening to the highway noise and was very therapeutic. I almost fell asleep on the chair just chilling. We stayed at the yellow cottage and slept 3 of us very comfortably. The park next to the river is perfect for morning walks and again… peaceful. Will definitely come back. Thanks!

Wonderful place to stay with family

Reviewed By AnaPtx

We stayed in one of the classic cabins and really enjoyed our stay! Our cabin was clean and had ready access to the Blanco River. The view is lovely and it's wonderful to wake up to bird song every morning. There are some very large geese that honk at you for food, but leave you alone after finding that you have none. I would have loved to have a drying rack for dishes, but wash towels are provided to dry things up. Overall, a lovely stay, easy check in, and ready access to the river. Definitely recommend!

Poor Managment

Reviewed By Relax61786314641

PRO: Good interior decoration. CONS: Poor management, poor service and communication, unpleasant noise from Air Conditioning. We booked a Lucky Arrow cabin via Trip.com. Shortly after the completion of payment, we received a confirmation email from Trip.com with a receipt attached. "Please show your confirmation number and PIN number to the reception." " Check-in after 16:00." " 2- person breakfast included." We later found out that none of this information was correct. (1) When we arrived at Lucky Arrow Retreat around 7pm, there was no reception to be found and we were trapped outside a closed gate. We tried the PIN number from the email, it turned out to be incorrect. I called Lucky Arrow a total of 8 times and sent a message to an "assistance number" printed on the lock of the gate. No one answered the phone. We were stuck outside the gate for 20 minutes and very frustrated. While we waited, there was no reply back from Lucky Arrow. We almost drove to Austin to find somewhere else to stay. We eventually got a text message back asking our names and gave us the instruction of how to unlock the main gate and our reserved cabin. After we got past the main gate, we found there was literally nobody managing the property. We did not feel safe staying here due to the lack of any assistance from them if there is any emergency going on during our stay. (2) There was no breakfast despite what was advertised. (3) The exit gate remained OPEN when we were leaving after self check-out. It appears that anyone can drive in from that exit gate which gives the guests no privacy and makes the place unsafe. The Lucky Arrow Retreat needs a lot of improvement in communication, as we did not receive any information regarding the check-in procedure and it was difficult to contact any staff during our stay.

Wow! What a hidden gem! We rented an RV for three nights outside of Big Bend. Our next stop was Fort Davis. The kids were getting antsy and we decided to get to Fort Davis a night early. We had a reservation for another hotel the next night so we scurried to find a place for one night. This place was such a surprise. The rooms have obviously been updated and they had all the amenities you want in a hotel. The breakfast in the morning was good. If we return to Fort Davis, we would definitely stay here again.

Overbooked Reservation & Couldn't Honor It The Day Of

Reviewed By tourist12345678900

Had placed a two bed reservation at the beginning of the month, originally was trying to do it through their direct website, but it wouldn't load, so ultimately placed the reservation on Booking.com. As I was traveling on the day of the stay the reservation was done for, I received a call from their front desk asking if the reservation as placed for two beds was actually needed. I was then informed that a room with two beds was not available, and the accommodation they could offer was a single bed room as their other property in town. When I inquired that I had made the reservation ahead of time, I was told the reservations had been overbooked, and they had not informed me ahead of time because they were hoping for a cancellation. Additionally, when I asked if an extra roll-away bed could be placed in the room they had available, I was told it couldn't be done because the room was too small. I then, while attempting to continue to travel, had to find another location that had the two bed accommodations needed along our route. During this time of having to find another location, I was then called back by the front desk, asking once again if I needed the reservation, because previously I had requested sometime to find another hotel before cancelling. When I then attempted to call the front desk back after this second call, the call went unanswered numerous times, in addition to having a message that their voicemail option was also unavailable. When the call was ultimately answered, I quickly was told "if I don't answer your call that means I busy, ok" of which I just informed them I would like to cancel the reservation. Although, the stay at this location did not occur, improvements in customer service are needed from ensuring reservations as taken can be fulfilled, and also customer service with their phone service at the front desk from answering the phone, or at least setting up a voicemail option or answering the phone and telling the customer that they will need to be placed on a brief hold, rather than saying it wasn't going to be answered because they were busy, after they had initially called.

The Blanco Settlement is nestled on 8 acres alongside the beautiful Blanco River. We have nine fully furnished, vintage-style cottages decorated with antique furniture, pillow-top beds, along with full bath and kitchenette. Windows on the riverside give you a wonderful view of wildlife and the river. Gentle breezes cool you on the porches of each cabin while you rock in the rocking chairs. In addition to our cottages, we have 20 pull thru RV sites for both 30 or 50 amp service. All sites have sewer, water, and electricity. Last but not least, we have a wonderful gift store on-site stocked with the latest trends and merchandise. Our location is in the center of the Texas Hill Country and you are only minutes away from Wimberley, Johnson City, Fredericksburg, and the amazing Texas Wine Country. Plus, we are just 45 minutes from Austin and San Antonio. So come see why a day on the river is worth a month in town.

Lovely spot for weekend stay to shop the Hill Country

Reviewed By 52leahh

My adult daughter and I stayed here 3/18-20/22. Got in at last minute due to cancellation. It is small and quaint and well kept right on Blanco River which was extremely low so we did not get to fish as hoped. But we were able to easily visit Wimberly for a day of fun shopping and lunch and go to Wildseed Farm in Fredricksburg before returning to cookout and have an adult beverage by the river. Lovely. Never found public bathrooms but we didn’t need it. The pads are long cement level pads. The spots are very close together but you tend to sit facing river and not right out you trailer door anyway. Lots of fire pits with wood and hige dog walking with trash cans all along for Tossing poop bags so the grounds were clean and not dodging dog poop everywhere. Recommend for nice place to stay while shopping. If river is up then kids may enjoy. If not, they would be bored I think. Bit of road noise because my Rockwood Roo 19 trailer is hybrid with tent pop outs at ends. If you have fully enclosed then doubt it would be an issue. The People are very kind, mostly retired folks and quiet - all in extremely nice large rigs while we were there.
