A view with luxury

We had a fantastic time in our luxury cocoon. Everything was perfect. Our luggage was transported to the cabine. We had a nice diner and breakfast served. When we entered the room there was a special snack suprise. And off course the fantastic view from the terrace and from the bathtub. Everything was perfect

Great campsite

Reviewed By Arnold G

Had a lovely week on this campsite in late April. Facilities are great (showers are amazing!!). Hot water for your dishes, common room + fridge etc. When we arrived, there was no one to welcome us. But from the sign it was clear that you can choose your own spot, wherever you like. And 'check in-' later on. Super laidback! Just as we like. 3-5 minute drive to climbing sector. Would recommend this place to climbers and non-climbers.

Sleepless in Orpierre....

We arrived in our small campervan to be greeted by a very friendly lady who talked us through the pricing. It was to be 50 cents more expensive to stay in the 1 star section of the site than the ACSI price for the 4 star area. The lady told us that some young students were arriving the following day and they would very likely be noisy. She encouraged us to stay down in the 1 star section as we would not be disturbed by the noisy students down there. The toilets and showers were excellent apart from no loo roll (1 star means no loo roll!) which was slightly irritating. All went well and we enjoyed the swimming pool after climbing however on the second night the students had arrived and were rowdy and kept us awake until after 2 am. The following night was like we were in a war zone with shouting and screaming and bangs from what we could only assume were fireworks. We had paid for 3 nights and had said that we would very likely stay longer but when we told the owner about our experience she was not very sympathetic and it felt like she did not believe that we could hear the noise. Her response was to say that it said on the website that groups of students would be there - the fact was she had told us we would not hear the noise from the bottom of the site. She gave us the impression that she valued the custom of the kids groups more than us as individuals staying there. We shall not return.

Excellent starting base for walking

Reviewed By Michel R

- Many marked walking routes which start in the village next to the campsite. Varying from easy walks through the valley up to moderate walks taking you up to over 2200 meters (campsite located at 1300) - Sanitation is a bit old, but clean. - Even though its surrounded by mountains the campsite has sunlight until 20.30 and satellite signal - Staff is very helpfull and the pizza's from the campings restaurant are delicous. This is a 3* campsite but we value it higher then most of the 4* campings in this area of France.

Not to miss in the area!

Reviewed By Giedre S

I liked everything in there. Wonderful, attentive to your needs and very nice host. Beautiful and smart projected mobile home. It's not huge space (we had house for two persons) - but you feel totally comfortable inside and find all the space you need. What we loved especially - views to the mountains; terrace with bbq; quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The host give all information about restaurants, shops, hiking trails, activities in the area. It's very pity we had only one night there and couldn't enjoy all what is offered. It is possible to order breakfast basket at extra cost of 8eur/person. Camping accepts credit cards. One tip: Location in google maps was quite misleading (but it's tiny village, not so difficult to make few rounds) - so if you use google to find it, look in the map for "les deux bois" and not "hotel de plein air les 2 bois" (it marked on google map in different areas, but actually it is the same.)

Cozy camping

Cozy little camping with all the necessary / basic amenities that are very clean. We only stayed for 2 short nights. Great location close to Embrun and the lake (5 mins away by bicycle). Didn’t try the restaurant or pool area so cannot judge that. Very friendly staff :-) thanks! The caravan/camping emplacements could be marked better (which area belongs to which number).

Perfect family holiday

Reviewed By Darran S

We stayed in cabin 16 for a week in late August. The site itself was blissful with the constant sound of the river and the 360 degree mountain views. Our cabin was immaculately clean and located shadily amongst the trees, whilst still being close to the site amenities. Pool area was well kept and was frequently quiet. The pizzas from the roulette were fabulous and reasonably priced. Staff were all super helpful, the lady in reception was happy to make calls for us to enquire and book activities etc. Vallouise itself is a great base, all you need is in the village (bakery, shop, restaurants and sports equipment hire). Make sure you try the almond croissants from the bakery! There are lots of walking trails from the village that are all clearly signposted, which take you up for some sensational views of the valley.
