Lanesboro Sightseeing

We absolutely loved this renovated hotel. Classic high ceilings and hardwood wood floors but modern amenities provided in the suite we stayed in. We had a refrigerator with freezer and microwave. At the end of the hall there is a comfortable gathering space with nice loveseat and chairs and dining table. There are only four rooms upstairs so we were the only couple in the gathering space most of the time. Coffee is provided. The owner is helpful with a willingness to answer questions about the area and give you tips on places to eat and routes you can take on your bike. The space was immaculate! There is about 21 steps to get up to the second floor so that may be a disadvantage for some. No elevator. But we plan to stay here again when riding to Lanesboro. Thanks Pat!

Warm, welcoming, and special graduation weekend

Reviewed By AnneA123177

We booked the entire Moulin Rouge when we gathered to celebrate our nephew's graduation. This beautify restored B&B provided the perfect amount of comfortable sleeping space for our multi-generational family (6 total) and we enjoyed the wonderful common areas; our mornings on the side porch and evenings in the parlor. What really made the stay exceptional were the innkeepers, Kristin and Chris. They were incredibly welcoming, organized, friendly, and accommodating. We highly recommend ordering the weekend breakfast! We have stayed in many B&Bs and this has been our best stay by far.

This hotel was great. We checked in late, it was very clean in the main area and in the rooms, bathroom and floors were clean, and the bed was clean and okay comfy. Would stay here again in a heart beat. The Continental breakfast was just okay don’t let that be a deciding factor for you because it was lame. Staff was just okay friendly and not out of their way friendly.

New hotel. Very courteous guest relations and breakfast attendants. Complimentary breakfast is quite good, eggbake with sausage and seasoned tator tots for our 1 day stay, along with the standard fair. Not sure if they provided donuts. Rooms are very spacious with about a 48-50" TV. Channel selection could be expanded. Tiled Shower is huge, rainfall type shower head. Very clean, even guest relations staff were dusting in the am. Highly suggested if you are visiting or traveling thru the area enroute to a destination.

Loved this concept!

We spent a week in room 204 and would highly recommend the Davidson to others. Pros: - perfect location in a beautiful, walkable neighborhood. (Don’t miss the History Museum a short walk away. A real find.) - spacious and comfortable room in a stunning mansion with quality furnishings. A taste of the Gilded Age. - a library! - excellent value. Our suite was priced like a Hampton Inn. Minor complaints - we could hear our neighbors in the next room talking and they could probably hear us. However, the bedroom is completely quiet. - the Roomcast TV system is outdated and difficult to use. Only a few of our TV apps worked with it.

The room was clean and reasonably priced and convenient for our trip to an event in the arrowhead. But my problem was with the internet. It didn't work at all in our room and only worked intermittently in the lobby. The desk was no help. It would have been better if there was no internet at all, and I wouldn't have wasted so much time trying to connect.

Not the way we remembered it

Reviewed By sorosisgirl

We have stayed here several times. It used to be quaint and charming; now it has been "updated" to try to make it more modern. I almost feel sorry for the innkeeper because she has spent some serious amount of money to make it current. Of course, bringing it up to code was mandatory. However, it just comes across as cold and plain with few amenities (no luggage rack or shelving). Location is still nice, but the town does not have much to offer unless you are a biker. Weekdays everything is pretty much shut down. Not having breakfast served is a real negative. At least they now do have TV's in the rooms. You have to call the owner to get in as no one is on site.
