MARTINE: THE FRENCH WONDERWOMAN!
Reviewed By 742simontHaving read such positive reviews we decided to book La Maison de Myon and I contacted Martine directly via email. She explained that she had a family party already arranged for the day of our arrival but would make an exception for us and would open: we were the only guests staying the first night. The house has been beautifully renovated by Martine, is tastefully decorated and is full of beautiful sculptures, paintings and objets d'art. From the lovely warm welcome to the cheery goodbye the stay was delightful and Martine is an exceptional hostess, seemingly enjoying every minute of her work. The French breakfasts were delicious with croissants, brioche and crusty bread accompanied by home made jams and jellies. The location is perfect for the city centre and the Place Stanislas, both a 5-10 minute stroll, yet the house is beautifully quiet and calming. A great selection of wonderful r restaurants are within walking distance.

Reviewed By Richard DWe would have enjoyed staying here more than the one night. We used it an overnight stop on a long road trip from the UK to Italy. I provided more 'atmosphere' than we really needed. The staff were efficient and friendly and the breakfast delicious.

But want to stay in the nature of France and enjoy a perfect breakfast served by a English speaking French host, after a wonderful night in a pieceful environment, this is the place to be. Lovely place, see you next year.

Reviewed By eyelimpJ'ai eu la chambre avec la terrasse ... Mama ! En plus l'accueil est chaleureux, convivial. C'est très propre et certaines prestations bien mieux que dans n'importe quel hôtel. Mon séjour un peu rébarbatif à Longwy s'est transformé grâce à cet endroit.

Reviewed By 446sophievBelles chambres d'hôtes bien équipées dans une charmante maison ancienne de village. Les hôtes sont très sympathiques. Les chambres ont chacune une décoration personnelle et la literie est très confortable. Le jardin et la piscine sont propices au repos.

Breakfast was way overpriced
Reviewed By lilredfredThe two people we interacted with were nice and professional. The room was fine, except for the shower, ready for renos. The beds were nice and comfortable. The hotel has its own parking, which was nearly full—we took the last spot, and I'm not sure where you can park after that. Two things justify my low rating: 1. the toilet seat had been replaced by a piece of junk that did not fit the bowl, creating all sorts of disgusting, unsollicited contact. 2. the breakfast: just not worth 12,60 euros—near-stale bread, one pathetic over boiled egg. At 6 euros I would have had no complaint.

Unusual building but a bit smelly
Reviewed By DerekParsonsWe stayed here for 1 night while travelling from Austria to Calais and chose it because of it’s uniqueness. The bedroom was spacious but a bit cold. Also when we walked in it smelt a bit of sewage which didn’t go away even with the window open. I think the problem is that the toilet has a macerator and is not plumbed directly to the waste. We were given the offer of eating in which we opted for and it was very good.
