What an amazing stay! The service was impeccable, both Brad and Kerry were awesome. Lovely sheets, comfortable bed and pillows, lovely kitchen with a wide selection of teas ….. and the breakfast Kerry made for us in the morning made our entire stay perfect. We’ll definitely be back.

Such a special place!

This is a beautiful and unique property that made a special family occasion extra special. We rambled through the amazing gardens, enjoyed tea and cake at the garden gazebo, nibbles in the gorgeous front room overlooking the gardens, played the historical piano and chatted in the formal lounge and played cards at the big dining table. Such a delight to enjoy such a historic mansion right in Maitland! Sarina was a lovely, helpful and non-imposing host. Good idea to bring some earplugs for the bats which were enjoying the garden too but a tad noisy at night from some of the bedrooms.

Very welcoming and dog friendly

Reviewed By donnasI130320

Our plans to stay with friends fell through and we needed a room on the day of and we have a dog which can make things tricky sometimes. We had the front room which opened onto the porch and our own bathroom. The owner was very welcoming and happy. It's not too far out of town at all and was very quiet and peaceful. Our dog was happy sitting on the porch in the sunset just relaxing. We had a continental breakfast on the porch in the morning and purchased some coffee and home made jam from the little shop on the property.

Think twice before you book! ?

Reviewed By CaneshaMars

I made a booking and asked to reschedule. Apparently it’s not in their policy to do so and I couldn’t even get a refund on the deposit. With no policy listed on the website, Elena (who I was conversing with via email) said the policy could be found on 3 other websites. I looked them all up and no policy on rescheduling the date. Anyway I’m quite glad we didn’t end up staying there as some of the bad reviews are horrific! Run down state of the house as well as questionable hygiene in the kitchen. And worst of all : no locks on the room doors! Also, the varying price display on the 3 websites are dodgy.

So relaxing

Reviewed By CraigJeffs

Fantastic 5 days away. Felt no need to leave the cottage. So cosy, warm and the views are incredible. Typical day, coffee on the deck, read, look at view, spa, sleep, get a roast on, beers by fire pit, dinner, wines by fire inside, sleep. Beautifully appointed and as tasteful and clean as anything you can ever expect. I wish I had my little dog as the secure yard would be heaven for her.

The Old Victoria

Historical stay

Reviewed By Paul T

The rooms here are huge and the bed was comfortable. There is a large shared bathroom but the night I stayed I was the only one in the property so this wasn't an issue for me. Jimmy was a welcoming host and we had a chat for quite a while before I checked in. The only mark against the Old Vic is the frequency of the trains that travel past nearby on a regular basis. This is all part and parcel of the positioning of this hotel from days gone by as it's close to the railway station. I have to say that after a long day driving I had a shower something to eat and fell asleep never to be bothered by trains until I woke the next morning. I enjoyed my stay here and discovering a part of the areas history.

Exceptional B&B in a beautiful and peaceful location

Reviewed By Susie L

Upon arriving at La Lagoon B&B, straight away the beautiful manicured lawns and garden were inviting. We were greeted by the Lovely Amanda who went out of her way to be the host with the most, extremely pleasant and helpful. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. This very clean, neat and tidy accommodation is in a peaceful and quite location, right on the doorstep of the Hunter Valley.  I will definitely stay here again.
