3 days stay in Hervás

We recently stayed at the hospederia and enjoyed our stay a lot. Service very good and attentive. Central location in the village (Hervás, a very quaint and charming village in Extremadura with a lovely Jewish quarter, worth visiting). Comfortable beds and pillows. Very quiet area and very clean given the current circumstances this year. Reasonably good breakfast and nice, friendly staff. I recommend staying here and visiting a nice little town in Extremadura.

We travel with our spaniel so need a pet friendly hotel. Alba Taruta is one of the best little hotels we have stayed in - traditionally furnished, comfortable, welcoming including dog treats, lovely bathroom and toiletries and a tiny balcony to sit on and look at the mountains

Dear Alvaro, you are a lucky man that found what suits you in life, welcome people in your beautiful hotel. We experienced that from the first second until the moment we left. Very well decorated, extremely comfortable and informal we found in your hotel a kind of a second home, just the way you always answer to mostly any question, ‘just feel home’ and we did. Trujillo is an amazing beautiful of town a kind of a well kept secret that people should hear about from other people. Word of mouth only please! Again and again thanks and see you soon, there or here, Pedro and Mathilde.

Excellent budget choice.

La Flor is a good choice of accommodation whilst visiting this fascinating city. It's well located, close to everything of interest. Very close to the train station but a trek from the bus station. Staff were mostly friendly and welcoming. You can get breakfast which is basic but filling. I was leaving before breakfast hours after my second night so they packed me some cakes and pastries to take with me. I had a ground floor room. It was clean and pleasant. Nicely decorated. Whilst there wasn't a party going on in reception, it was a bit noisy being on this floor. I would recommend requesting a room upstairs. I later read this tip in the LP but by then it was too late. As mentioned, it's well located. Many of the main ruins are close by. As are restaurants and everything else you might need.

We ate dinner in the restaurant and it was by far the best dinner we had in the las hurdes area! We ordered the revuelta de hongos con jamón, chuletas and solomillo ibérico a la plancha. Everything was absolutely delicious. It is the same price as most of the restaurants we ate dinner in the area. I would highly recommend this place to try.

Perfect pet friendly hotel at the edge of town

Reviewed By samsung131

Small hotel set on the edge of town, nice room, a bit on the small side but perfectly adequate and super clean. Secure parking at the end of the block that leads under the hotel, normally €8 a night but was reduced to €5 as a special offer. Pets accepted at €8 a night. Continental breakfast was included in the room rate and was served on a tray to your room at the time you specify when checking in. We paid extra for a room with a terrace which was great for the breakfast. No evening meal but there is a good tapas bar within half a block (straight forward over the crossing outside the hotel and then half a block on the other side of the street). Snack & drink machines including coffee & beer available in reception. Disliked · It was a bit far from the main sites of Merida, about a 30 minute walk which we didnt tackle as it was over 40 degrees. I'm sure that would be possible in cooler temperatures and we will return in the autumn to try it.

More of the same Poor mentality

Reviewed By carlacabrera

The refurbishing of the place, in terms of stable and good taste is super poor, there are walls with humidities, the frame of the doors in poor condition, and the refurbishing they did of an historical place is awful. Instead of giving a sense of relaxing atmosphere seems a regular city hotel in poor conditions. No pillows in the room, the room was super small. The barroom has no privacy whatsoever. The door is a glass door, that doesn’t even close properly. You can’t even feel relax in the Toilet cos the door doesn’t fit the frame. The price 90 eur per night is completely exaggerated. We are becoming here in Spain like Italy or France where hotel prices are not worth at all the quality. Feeling quite off after traveling all this way.
